  1. If it was anything serious, think Southgate would have known about it and just called someone else up instead instead of being forced to do it later. As for Kante, Deschamps said this...

  9. Always? Was this even the case last season? Or is this a case of 1-2 bad games against said player being turned into every game?
  10. Gabriel Jesus tried to do a Jorginho penalty yesterday and failed with it. 🙈
  11. That last 7-8 minutes from Atalanta...
  12. People are complaining about Juventus' boring football on TW.
  13. I don't disagree but I think some times, you can't substitute experience for other things. It's quite risky having James, Tomori and Zouma operating in the back 4 at this point. Lampard has man managed the players well so far. So, I would like to believe that he knows what he's doing with James and when he's going to make that succession happen.
  14. Valencia are blowing hot and cold this season. The game at Mestalla will be tough - we must do better than what we did yesterday - but there's no reason why we can't win or at least get a draw given our recent away form. If we beat Valencia, we are through. Draw and we'll need to beat Lille. Lose and we'll need Valencia to beat Ajax.
  15. You're late with your in-game take.
  16. 1. Not saying Azpi was great yesterday but he has been in good form after rediscovering it following the early season shambles. No one said a thing during then and suddenly the wolves are now out in force after a game where almost everyone was bad. 2. James is no doubt our future but he just came back from an injury not too long ago. It's understandable why perhaps Lampard didn't necessarily want to throw straight into the action seeing what's happened with Kante, Rudiger. Also, James had a quiet game against Man United and no one said a thing. One good half against Ajax and it's all the rage all of a sudden. 3. Having 3 young defenders in the back is a tad overkill, no? James, Tomori and Zouma. As much as James is better at going forward than Azpi, he still has to learn a lot from a defensive point of view. There's no guarantee James won't make the kind of mistakes seen with Azpi.
  17. Emery is really losing the plot... Also...
  18. I never said Conte said his players are shit etc. Just think it doesn't send out a positive message. He has good, talented players in his squad and while they may not be experienced winners, I would like think they at least have the winning mentality, the desire to win trophies. Does Conte expect Inter to go sign all the experienced winners out there? There's only so many players who have multiple trophies and are experienced winners that a club can buy. Inter are operating under the FFP rules - they got punished for it not too long ago, IIRC. So they certainly can't go out there and spend 150-200 million on players without offloading some. As I said, Conte knew what he was getting into. So, his moaning seems daft. If Conte is seeing eye-to-eye with the Inter board, then I doubt he would be moaning about things in the media. Inter have the FFP to mind about. There's only so many players that they can buy and they bought quite a few in the summer. Conte is daft if he thought Inter were gonna spend like 150-200 million on players and/or were gonna buy a new squad of players in summer. Conte already has a dodgy record in the Champions League before yesterday and perhaps rather than constantly moaning about not being happy with his squad, he should maybe look at his own tactics, how he sets up his team etc. Can't keep on blaming others every time.
