  1. KOVACIC: 'CHELSEA IS COMING IN THE BEST MOMENT OF MY CAREER'
  2. It's more about trying to make sure the player don't burn out in the long run. Jorginho has already played A LOT of games for club and country this season. While you're not wrong about that UCL example, that was 2 entire teams though having 2-3 weeks off though and it's obvious it would affect the performance level. This is just one player. Sort of an example would be Pulisic, who played only 1 game out of 5 in September but got into the XI after that and got into the rhythm straight away.
  3. Italy qualified for the Euros last month and Mancini played Jorginho against Bosnia tonight...the full 90 minutes!
  4. Am curious to know or see what is Lampard's long term plan with Pulisic and CHO. Hard to see them fighting over the same spot in the coming years. Are they really gonna play only on the left? Lampard convinced CHO to stay and Pulisic has shown what he can do - albeit on the left but he can play on the right - and Lampard has also said he would be a big player for us.

  6. aka Hilario is doing a shit job as the GK coach.
  7. Chilwell just provided 3 assists for first 3 England goals vs Montenegro...
  8. Deschamps starting Kante at HOME against Moldova...
  9. Oh we do need experienced players to complement the younger players but whether we need more in the midfield area is debatable considering we already have 3. Lampard might look at other areas to bolster instead. Lampard won't play the same XI throughout the season but he would want a consistent side. A midfield six of Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek, Mount and Eriksen would require a lot of rotation, different midfield set-up almost every time, risking disrupting the cohesion within the side. Also, Gallagher seems to be doing well on loan at Charlton. We don't know what Lampard has in mind for him. Might even get him to take up Barkley's spot in midfield.
  10. It's kinda hilarious that people think the Pulisic type transfer is now easily doable just because we did it with him. If it was, a lot more clubs would have done it already. Unless we throw an obscene amount of money at Dortmund in January, there's no reason for them to sell Sancho then when they can start a bidding war for him in the summer. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7682459/Jadon-Sancho-hands-major-boost-suitors-English-winger-wants-LEAVE-Borussia-Dortmund.html
  11. Our midfield options right now are fine and think we'll manage. But add anymore quality into it without selling and there could be problems. Easy to say that but no high quality players would want to keep on be in and out of the team and it's easy to keep everyone happy when the team are winning almost every week - like Man City (and also if you pay them lots of $$$$$$$$$$$). Problems come when the team don't.
  12. Welcome to life under Lampard at Chelsea… just don’t be late https://theathletic.com/1375805/2019/11/14/welcome-to-life-under-lampard-at-chelsea-just-dont-be-late/?source=shared-article
  13. You're kinda saying the same thing there. Lampard may well want an experienced player to complement the young players in attack.
  14. At the same time, one could say Mount + Kovacic offer more than Kante depending on the opposition. Mount may not always look like he does much but he's key in linking our midfield and attack. Otherwise, we'll just end up with 2 endless ball passers in Kovacic & Jorginho, who don't get forward much, if at all, and Kante, who is hit and miss going forward.
  15. Stop dreaming, Vesper. We ain't gonna sell Azpi!
