  1. Excluding Zouma, having 6 CBs feels rather overkill.
  2. I guess it's close to what you both suggested. @Jype @Superblue_1986
  3. So you're saying that there's a chance we might sign Lewandowski then? 🤪
  4. It could possibly change the situation but we would have to do it quickly (see Jype's post above). Not sure if Raiola would really push for the move at this point. If he had wanted to, he would have done so long ago I'd imagine. And this is Kehl's full quote...
  5. Dynel Simeu sold to Southampton for a reported fee of £1.5 million.
  6. If Kehl had said something vague instead about Haaland's future, you would be jumping for joy, wouldn't you? Obviously, what Kehl said could be true or not, but it's pretty much in line with their stance over Haaland this year.
  7. But how far did Spurs get into negotiating with Sevilla though? If they already got rejected by Kounde first, then the point about Spurs wouldn't have come close to his release clause is kinda moot. But even if that's not the case, someone else here mentioned that Spurs wanted to throw in Davinson Sanchez into the deal and his market value is €32 million (if one takes the transfermarkt evaluation). That may be true but one could also argue that there's a big difference between having a €50 million release clause and €80 million release clause. The €30 million difference is a lot, especially if Sevilla are really struggling with the finances and knowing that we're rich and all, they would want to try and squeeze out as much money out of us as possible.
  8. Not going to sit here and argue whether Lamela is worth €25 million or not but Sevilla and Spurs seemed to work on the basis that Gil was worth €50 million because of the release clause and Spurs threw in Lamela to basically drive the price down. Romano said that Kounde has €80 million as his release clause but the club aren't prepared to pay that fee and hence why they tried to include Emerson but failed and now they're trying to include Zouma into the deal. Based on that, it seems like €80 million is the asking price for Kounde and the club are trying to get the price down. Maybe Sevilla will lower the fee a little or maybe not, since we're rich and all, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  9. Okay, my brain was definitely broken last night. Read that as Sevilla want around 50m plus a player rather than 50m OR less money plus a player. 😅🤦‍♂️ Having said that, would be surprised if Sevilla drop the asking price (aka release clause fee) so much for supposedly one of the best young CBs, regardless of whether a player is included in the deal or not.
  10. Not that they are any better but getting these random football folks just feels cheesy and even cringey.
  11. Doesn’t that exclude the proposed swapped player from the 50 million? Romano said in the article on the Guardian that Kounde has a release clause of €80 million but the club aren’t prepared to pay that fee. Assuming that is the case, then the deal should probably be like €50 million + Zouma for Kounde, no?
  12. Maybe my brain is just broken at this hour but that tweet literally said “Sevilla want 50 million or less AND a player they like”.
  13. Huh? That tweet says Sevilla want around 50 million plus a player.
  14. Don't disagree with that notion but TBF, that's only good if Zouma is gonna play week in week out but he isn't.
  15. They are real and have their uses. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buyout_clause https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/transfer-news/release-clauses-spain-partey-arsenal-19053305
  16. Don't think who's better is the point here. As I mentioned above, there have been reports going around that we're trying to sell Zouma for only around €30 million and assuming that's the case, not sure how we can raise his value to Sevilla, particularly when we're trying to ship him out. And a small side note, Zouma has only 2 years left on his contract compared to Sanchez's 3 at Spurs.
  17. The release clause is still the fixed price. Dias had a release clause of £80 million but City got him for only £64.3 million because they included Otamendi in the deal and he was deemed to be worth £13.7 million. https://theathletic.com/news/manchester-city-transfer-ruben-dias/vlZHrx2d5VXL Am sure we're trying to do the same with Kounde here by possibly adding Zouma in and I don't think he's worth as much as you have made him out to be, especially when there have been reports going around that we're trying to sell Zouma for only around €30 million.
  18. But Kounde has a release clause of €80m.
