What flag would you like to have? Italy?

Yeah but people act like it's their money being spent... Didn't we try to pursue Aguero before the Torres move happened? I am pretty sure that was the case and Aguero joined City in the summer of the same year we bought Torres. And on hindsight, it was a good thing we didn't go for Falcao back then. Sure, if a transfer move goes wrong, there will be consequences but it's just a case of whether the club want to take a loss from the sale because there will at least be a buyer out there. For example, we could have sold Batshuayi a long time ago but Marina wanted XX million for him and we couldn't sell him because no one wanted to pay the amount she wants.

On one hand, I can understand why fans are concerned with how much the club pay for a player but on the other hand, I don't understand why fans are so concerned about it when they aren't the ones who are splashing out the money.

I can't say much about Boga because I have not watched much of Sassuolo but even at a cheap price, perhaps it is somewhat telling that none of the other big clubs are even lining up to sign him.

Ironically, some of Mount's better performances have come when he has played out wide. If people want to be so quick in claiming Pulisic and CHO are injury prone for us, then I can't do anything. If you take that out of the equation, then we have two perfect wide players that the club have put their faith in. Also, people need to decide "what" they want Werner "to be". One minute, people say he's a striker and the next a wide player. Benrahma would indeed be an underwhelming signing. That we all can agree on. But as I said, there is only so many players who want to play every week that you can keep happy. Sure, Boga would provide competition but if someone else is playing well, would you even drop that player?

You mentioned Anelka and Mertens but funnily enough, Anelka did play as a lone CF in his career and Mertens has done the same as well (along with playing out wide as an inside forward). I don't think it's a foregone conclusion or it's worth jumping the gun to say that Werner won't play as the CF for us. I'm sure Lampard will try that and have him supported by the No.10 and/or have Werner move around into the channels etc and others to bomb into the space he vacates to do damage.

Make of this what you will... https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12001885/timo-werner-and-kai-havertz-are-great-says-liverpool-manager-jurgen-klopp "There are a lot of good players on this planet," Klopp told Sky Germany. "Timo Werner is a great player, Kai Havertz is a great player. "Right time, opportunity - everything has to come together. Six, seven weeks ago, we didn't know if we could play again this year. If we hadn't played the second half of the season, we would have thought, 'OK, when can you really play football again?' And now it starts right away. "We act as if everything is already settled. It's not settled. We use this little loophole we've been left to play football again. Everything else we have to see the moment it happens. We can't pretend now that everything's going to be fine in the future."

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I try to distract myself to sleep with something else but otherwise, I'm getting nervous/anxious by the hour on this. I WANT THAT ANNOUNCEMENT GOD DAMN IT!
-
I know where you're going with this but on the other hand, did we not sign and announce everything on Ziyech, even though the Eredivisie season was still going on earlier this year?
-
Liverpool have been somewhat lucky with their injuries this season, especially to their attacking players. And as Man City have shown within the last 3-4 years, the wheels are bound to come off when you play at such a high level for a long time. The same is very likely to happen with Liverpool, especially when their strength in depth is not the greatest.

There is only so many players who want to play consistently that you can keep happy and I'm assuming Boga would want that too. Plus, Lampard probably doesn't think Boga suits what he wants. Also for years, we have always complained about we do not show enough faith in young players but now that the club are seemingly doing that with Pulisic, CHO, Ziyech, Werner etc as our wide options, people want more players to be signed. And not sure if people realize this but we are pretty bloated in midfield and the attacking areas, excluding Willian and Pedro. We need to sell a few players and streamline the squad, before even thinking of buying more players.
