  1. Luke Shaw said Victor Moses is the toughest player he has had to face. Going by your logic, guess Moses is a very good player then?
  2. I JUST WANT THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ASAP!
  3. Agree with all of that but my point is, I wouldn't mind having a similar but more experienced player around as an option. And like I said, expecting Gilmour to do everything well at only 19 years old is unfair on him. He will experience a patch of bad form and we will then need someone similar to come in for him, for example.
  4. But on the flip side, announcing it early would give everyone clarity and a peace of mind, instead of continuing weeks of silly speculation. We did that with the Pulisic and Ziyech deals, for example. And the fans bit wouldn't even matter in this case since no fans are even allowed into stadiums.
  5. If any midfielder needs to be sold, it should be Barkley first and foremost. Jorginho, despite some frustrating flaws in his game, is still decent enough to be kept around. As much as Gilmour has performed well in the last 2 games, I think it would be unfair on him, who turns only 19 years old very soon - to suddenly expect top class performances week in week out. He still has a lot to learn, improve and experience. Having someone like Jorginho to help with that etc would be beneficial.
  6. Kante hasn't returned to first team training and Jorginho is suspended. So, think Gilmour will play.
  7. The point there is the timing of the announcement. Both clubs and player would obviously have to sort everything out by June 15 but they don't have to announce it yet if they don't want to, although I don't see what's the point in that.
  8. Think Roman put money in to cover for the loss? IIRC, it was mentioned in one of the recent The Athletic podcasts.
  9. Well, if Abraham doesn't sign a new contract, then that is gonna change the situation...
  10. Doesn't matter the difference in league or teams. Point is, I don't think you have spoken many positives, if at all, about the signing of Werner (even though there have been articles pin-pointing his strengths - as well as weaknesses). It's all just the bad things about him with you. But with the likes of Boga, it's all positives, it's all just the good stuff, almost as if he's the best player out there.
  11. You wouldn't be saying that had Abraham or Boga done what Werner did.
  12. Sorry, not able to add it. Checked and I forgot parts of the forum are not fully operational. Sorry.
  13. I don't think Bayern have recovered emotionally from that 2012 Champions League Final loss at their own ground...
  14. Not too sure about that comparison. If a team defend deep against Vardy, he can become totally ineffective because he is not able to use the pace of his and is not all that great with his link-up play etc. I guess some would say it's the same with Werner but at least with him and he has more room to improve, one can see he is trying to improve his all-round player, to not just be a counter-attacking player. You can see it in games, the comments from Nagelsmann and even the stats/charts back that up.
  15. lol If Marina is able to get that price for Batshuayi...
  16. This I supposed sounds contradictory given Werner's flirtation (if you like) with Liverpool but interestingly, he said this earlier this year... https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/12691/11953899/timo-werner-unsure-over-joining-liverpool-manchester-city-or-manchester-united-from-rb-leipzig "At this time in professional soccer there are two different variations. The first is to be part of a team like Liverpool or Manchester City. They have a good working team. The teams have also great coaches. "But this is the question: do you want to go to that kind of team, because the situation is already that hard for each member and you want to be a part of it? That's one point you have to look at. "The other side are teams which need some big changes, because they just won a few big titles, but they are not able to compete on the highest level anymore. For me Manchester United is one of these teams. "So at this point of my career I'm asking myself: do I want to be part of a new team, to build up something new, or do I want to stay at my team and make something great?"
  17. I never said those stories are 10000% not true. All I said or implied was they could be not true at all. Don't tell me you believe every single transfer stories out there? Yes, Maradona is Napoli's greatest player but are you really telling that they are a big club, on and off the field like Juventus, Bayern or even us? They might be a well known club but they are definitely not on the same level. We might not be at City's, Liverpool's etc level right now but even you will find it hard to deny that we have more room to improve and will be better than the likes of Napoli in the long run. And how many trophies have we won in the last 10-15 years and how many clubs like Napoli have won? We can go over this till the cows come home but the bottom line is, the club are unlikely gonna sign Boga...
  18. Werner will likely need to get physically stronger to cope with the Premier League but otherwise, he is similar in size to Aguero and the latter hasn't done too badly in the Premier League...
  19. As much as the Ziyech signing is exciting on paper, nothing has been proven yet. We'll see next season whether we actually got a bargain or that other clubs were right to stay away from him. His age? His playing style? His wage demands? Unless you're at a club desperate for short term success, Aubameyang will have no resale value whatsoever. Plus, we are living in a pandemic situation where clubs are like broke financially. Feel free to name names on this one but how many players from Italy have gone on to succeed in other leagues in recent years? Icardi is maybe one but he is at PSG and it's Ligue 1. Alonso maybe to an extent Jorginho is okay-ish I guess. There seems to have been more failures than successes - e.g. Immobile being an example of the former and we have a bunch of very average ones ourselves - maybe that is why clubs are reluctant to buy players from Italy and why we often see players move within clubs in Italy. And have people considered that maybe Boga just doesn't suit what Lampard wants? As much as he has improved, he is not at the level where you must absolutely get him and then tailor your tactics to fit him in, like say Messi or Ronaldo.
  20. Just because those clubs have been mentioned in the news, it doesn't mean the stories are true. And for the sake of argument, only Juventus out of those four are a genuine big club at this point. Inter are seemingly on their way up again under Conte while Roma and Napoli are like Tier-B clubs at the moment. Also, if he is as good as you're making him out to be, then why haven't we heard of clubs outside Italy being interested in him? Why have not we see say Liverpool, Man City for example being interested, especially when it doesn't seem like Boga will cost much to sign?
  21. First, it was John Barnes and now Robbie Fowler. Gosh, those Liverpool fellas are really salty when things don't go their way, do they?
