I don't think Bayern have recovered emotionally from that 2012 Champions League Final loss at their own ground...

Not too sure about that comparison. If a team defend deep against Vardy, he can become totally ineffective because he is not able to use the pace of his and is not all that great with his link-up play etc. I guess some would say it's the same with Werner but at least with him and he has more room to improve, one can see he is trying to improve his all-round player, to not just be a counter-attacking player. You can see it in games, the comments from Nagelsmann and even the stats/charts back that up.

lol If Marina is able to get that price for Batshuayi...

This I supposed sounds contradictory given Werner's flirtation (if you like) with Liverpool but interestingly, he said this earlier this year... https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/12691/11953899/timo-werner-unsure-over-joining-liverpool-manchester-city-or-manchester-united-from-rb-leipzig "At this time in professional soccer there are two different variations. The first is to be part of a team like Liverpool or Manchester City. They have a good working team. The teams have also great coaches. "But this is the question: do you want to go to that kind of team, because the situation is already that hard for each member and you want to be a part of it? That's one point you have to look at. "The other side are teams which need some big changes, because they just won a few big titles, but they are not able to compete on the highest level anymore. For me Manchester United is one of these teams. "So at this point of my career I'm asking myself: do I want to be part of a new team, to build up something new, or do I want to stay at my team and make something great?"

I never said those stories are 10000% not true. All I said or implied was they could be not true at all. Don't tell me you believe every single transfer stories out there? Yes, Maradona is Napoli's greatest player but are you really telling that they are a big club, on and off the field like Juventus, Bayern or even us? They might be a well known club but they are definitely not on the same level. We might not be at City's, Liverpool's etc level right now but even you will find it hard to deny that we have more room to improve and will be better than the likes of Napoli in the long run. And how many trophies have we won in the last 10-15 years and how many clubs like Napoli have won? We can go over this till the cows come home but the bottom line is, the club are unlikely gonna sign Boga...

Werner will likely need to get physically stronger to cope with the Premier League but otherwise, he is similar in size to Aguero and the latter hasn't done too badly in the Premier League...

As much as the Ziyech signing is exciting on paper, nothing has been proven yet. We'll see next season whether we actually got a bargain or that other clubs were right to stay away from him. His age? His playing style? His wage demands? Unless you're at a club desperate for short term success, Aubameyang will have no resale value whatsoever. Plus, we are living in a pandemic situation where clubs are like broke financially. Feel free to name names on this one but how many players from Italy have gone on to succeed in other leagues in recent years? Icardi is maybe one but he is at PSG and it's Ligue 1. Alonso maybe to an extent Jorginho is okay-ish I guess. There seems to have been more failures than successes - e.g. Immobile being an example of the former and we have a bunch of very average ones ourselves - maybe that is why clubs are reluctant to buy players from Italy and why we often see players move within clubs in Italy. And have people considered that maybe Boga just doesn't suit what Lampard wants? As much as he has improved, he is not at the level where you must absolutely get him and then tailor your tactics to fit him in, like say Messi or Ronaldo.

Just because those clubs have been mentioned in the news, it doesn't mean the stories are true. And for the sake of argument, only Juventus out of those four are a genuine big club at this point. Inter are seemingly on their way up again under Conte while Roma and Napoli are like Tier-B clubs at the moment. Also, if he is as good as you're making him out to be, then why haven't we heard of clubs outside Italy being interested in him? Why have not we see say Liverpool, Man City for example being interested, especially when it doesn't seem like Boga will cost much to sign?

First, it was John Barnes and now Robbie Fowler. Gosh, those Liverpool fellas are really salty when things don't go their way, do they?

Very good read this...

What flag would you like to have? Italy?

Yeah but people act like it's their money being spent... Didn't we try to pursue Aguero before the Torres move happened? I am pretty sure that was the case and Aguero joined City in the summer of the same year we bought Torres. And on hindsight, it was a good thing we didn't go for Falcao back then. Sure, if a transfer move goes wrong, there will be consequences but it's just a case of whether the club want to take a loss from the sale because there will at least be a buyer out there. For example, we could have sold Batshuayi a long time ago but Marina wanted XX million for him and we couldn't sell him because no one wanted to pay the amount she wants.
-
On one hand, I can understand why fans are concerned with how much the club pay for a player but on the other hand, I don't understand why fans are so concerned about it when they aren't the ones who are splashing out the money.
-
I can't say much about Boga because I have not watched much of Sassuolo but even at a cheap price, perhaps it is somewhat telling that none of the other big clubs are even lining up to sign him.
-
Ironically, some of Mount's better performances have come when he has played out wide. If people want to be so quick in claiming Pulisic and CHO are injury prone for us, then I can't do anything. If you take that out of the equation, then we have two perfect wide players that the club have put their faith in. Also, people need to decide "what" they want Werner "to be". One minute, people say he's a striker and the next a wide player. Benrahma would indeed be an underwhelming signing. That we all can agree on. But as I said, there is only so many players who want to play every week that you can keep happy. Sure, Boga would provide competition but if someone else is playing well, would you even drop that player?
-
You mentioned Anelka and Mertens but funnily enough, Anelka did play as a lone CF in his career and Mertens has done the same as well (along with playing out wide as an inside forward). I don't think it's a foregone conclusion or it's worth jumping the gun to say that Werner won't play as the CF for us. I'm sure Lampard will try that and have him supported by the No.10 and/or have Werner move around into the channels etc and others to bomb into the space he vacates to do damage.
