  1. You can't call their defence garbage and then turn around to say that. And if you're gonna devalue their clean sheets because they didn't play good teams, then are you gonna do the same for our clean sheets this season?
  2. Man City have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 6 Premier League games and have the best defence in the league. #justsayin
  3. Has it though for Lampard? The Villa game really doesn't count because we played 2 games in 3 days, there's fatigue and the fact that Werner didn't play well at Arsenal. Even then, Werner was still used like a winger and nothing comes from his side in terms of chances (not his forte to create chances like a winger). It's just all about him getting on the end of chances, which is good and all if there are chances. But if opposing team shuts down Ziyech or Ziyech has a stinker (like against Spurs), then what? We can criticize Werner for missing chances because that's on him but otherwise, he's not given the tactical platform to showcase what he can do, showcase what he did at Leipzig. Werner did his best work in Germany as a second striker but Lampard seems insistent on playing him as a winger. Never mind missing chances, his attacking numbers - e.g. shots inside the box - have gone down while his defensive numbers have gone up compared to last season. Even when Lampard played Werner upfront like against Villa, we still tried to spam crosses into the box for him.
  4. Having blind hope will always end up with disappointment.
  5. Says a lot when people have to rely on blind hope that things will turn around again.
  6. So in other words, we are built around Ziyech? Because the moment he got injured, Lampard couldn't find another way to make things work. Still tried to persist with the same system, despite putting square pegs in round holes and some clear tactical issues.
  7. At the same time, you could also say many of those previous managers didn't get to spend as much as Lampard has. I'm sorry but poor excuse is poor excuse and a lot of our recent problems have more to do with Lampard - e.g. his tactical selections, his in-game management, his style of play. Just because others aren't doing so well doesn't mean we can't or shouldn't be doing better than what we are doing right now. Mind you, we have teams like Leicester (again), Everton and Villa, who have 2 games in hand, ahead of us in the table FGS!
  8. Sure, having fans can give teams a boost but the lack of pre-season, the congested schedule, injuries, fatigue are far more appropriate reasons as to why results have been stupid. If a team is solely relying on fans to do well, then that team is shit.
  9. Wait what, now we are using the lack of fans as an excuse? And facts are facts!
  10. As if we will suddenly change. People keep on talking like we'll suddenly play a different style if Ziyech is back, when in fact, we'll just be spamming more crosses in.
  11. A manager who builds a team only around ONE player is a bad manager. #justsayin
  12. All this talk of selling Mount is kinda silly. Whether he will be first choice long term wise remains to be seen but I think he would be a decent backup option to have in the team at the very least. Unless we want to go spend stupid money like 30, 40, 50 million on the Drinkwaters and Bakayokos of this world, we should be using our academy players to be backup choices where possible and then spend the money on improving the first team.
  13. Wouldn't it be funny if the next manager comes in and continues to play Mount anyway?
  14. 7 points behind Liverpool, who have hardly looked like world beaters. We really should be at least fighting for the title but alas, the manager... United now only 3 points behind Liverpool, with a game in hand...
  15. Here's a truly bonkers stat - Atletico have faced Getafe 18 times under Simeone and have not conceded a single goal. Not fucking one goal!
  16. But pause for how long though? If it's just gonna be for the reported 2 weeks, then it makes little sense as Gary Neville mentioned here... If we pause it longer than 2 weeks, say 4 weeks, then how are teams gonna complete all the fixtures by end of May? It's a really clusterfuck situation and the competitions etc wouldn't be in such a bad position if the government wasn't run by idiots.
