Think it's fair to say most of us fans love Lampard to bits for what he has done for the club and probably hope he can retire by staying at the club. However, if he can't accept the 'Scholes/Giggs role' at the club and wants to play every week and in every game, then sadly, I think we need to let him go.

Granted that Mata did not have the best of games but he is arguably our only creative player in the entire team and one who is capable of producing moment of quality in the final third. Why take him off and leave Meireles on the field when goodness know how many passes he misplaced yesterday and chickens out when it comes to tackling?!
-
I believe he only came good this season and I'm not even sure if he's even that good. There are better options out there IMO.
-
Harry is talking too much lately. It has been England England England in recent weeks and now suddenly Hazard? He needs to keep quiet and get on with things. If he really wants the England job, just take it!
-
Yup. Terry is the one 50-50 while Cole looks the more likely of the two at the moment to start the game.
-
Yeah, with only like less than 8 minutes to go. What's the point? If AVB's gonna bring Lampard on, at least bring him on like there's still 15-20 minutes to go where there's enough time to make an impact!

While I do agree with the comment regarding Bosingwa, I'm not sure about throwing Cahill straight into a Champions League game of this magnitude. He's only played in Europe for like 3-4 games and that was about 4 years ago I believe.
-
The club are sure getting more interactive with the fans on Twitter and posting videos like that. KIU!
-
Agree but perhaps no one asked him back then till recently. Thought he did well again yesterday. Would certainly like to see him starting more than Bosingwa does!

That. It was a joke of a defending. We had like 6-7 players in the penalty box and only 3-4 Birmingham players and yet, we somehow left Murphy completely unmarked! Embarrassing. On Bertrand, thought he did ok yesterday. Nothing spectacular and was solid. Hoping to see more of him this season.
-
Yeah. I was very very disappointed with Frank when I heard the commentator pointed that out. Such a legend and fantastic professional for Chelsea FC but he let the fans down massively with that attitude.
-
Keeping Meireles on and bringing Mata off yesterday was just another diabolical decision by AVB. Granted that Mata was not having the best of games but he's arguably our only creative player in the entire squad and someone capable of producing a moment of real quality but yet AVB sticks with Meireles who have given away possession cheaply countless of times yesterday! I really can't understand why AVB plays him so much!! Are they having some sort of secret affair off the pitch or something?!
-
Napoli must be thinking they're playing Derby County instead of Chelsea on Tuesday or heck, they would still beat us even with their reserves on Tuesday!
-
A replay and it's a match we could have done without. Our record at St. Andrews in recent years have been dodgy and Birmingham are still unbeaten at home this season. On the game, I really can't be bothered to comment on the performances and results anymore. It's the same old crap every week since that Man City game. If we win, yay. If not, whatever. I'll just look forward to the next game with blind optimism. Already looking forward to the next season TBH!

You're blaming Lampard for the mess we're in right now? He maybe poor at the moment but he's not our main problem and certainly not the root of it. You're basically saying all of that on hindsight. Fail.
-
Mata? Hmm, don't agree with that.
-
Think is the implications of finishing outside the Top 4 is worse than firing AVB. Would Roman actually take that risk. I'm not sure.
-
We all thought he's probably going to score against Portsmouth but it didn't happen. Can't see anything changing for this weekend as well.
-
Somewhat just for fun, would like to a back 5(including GK) of Englishmen. --------Turnbull-------- Sam-Cahill-Terry-Ryan

Abject performance from the players and AVB's post match comments with BBC about how he has not prepared too well for Everton was just shocking and pathetic! So much for what he said before that about not underestimating Everton given our poor record at Goodison. Also, has anyone notice how we've been losing those 50-50 challenges on the ball or even dare to go make a challenge lately? In the last few years, we've been a dominant, physical and capable of overpowering any team out there. Now, we look like a bunch of sissies when going into challenges!
-
Would take him back any time, any day and any week of the year. Shouldn't have been sacked or left in the first place.
-
Just a thought but does anyone think that AVB is maybe just a flash in the pan? Yes, he did very well with Porto last season and won the treble with them but you get managers who achieved a lot in their first full season in charge of a club and then go floundering in the next. Not saying this on hindsight but I was never 100% supportive of his appointment mainly because he's still young and pretty much inexperience. Would have preferred him to stayed at Porto, seeing how he deals with the expectation level and the Champions League, against the top teams and top managers. Right now, he just leaves more questions than answers every week.
-
Effectivity went downhill since then? Really? I guess you must have such a short term memory that you forgot his goals, assists and contribution to the team when we won the FA Cup under Hiddink and the double under Ancelotti.
