  1. But doesn't change the overall feeling with Giroud. He's not the first player to play against 3 CBs, Atletico or not, and it's not his first experience either.
  2. This is not a one off though, is it? There have been so many games this season where he's not done much when not scoring.
  3. A manager taking responsibility? Preposterous!
  4. Giroud was awful again but of course, he popped up and scored again.
  5. Our FIRST away win in the Champions League knockout stage since beating Benfica (1-0) on March 27, 2012! FIRST win in 9 knockout stage away games (D4 L4). The performance wasn't really different from the others under Tuchel. Dominated the game, didn't create clear cut chances but won thanks to a moment of brilliance.
  6. When all our attacks are basically going through the right, of course they look lively but the end product from both was disappointing. It's definitely opposite to what I was being told about Mount.
  7. Careful, mate. You wouldn't want the others come jump on you on that.
  8. It's stupid. Everything is just coming down out right hand side with CHO because the opposite WB is pathetic at getting forward with the ball.
  9. Swear we are the only top side in Europe who are obsessed with playing a slow, snail-paced, immobile, tortoise LB/LWB...
  10. So, you are simply happy with a mediocre, bang average player in the starting XI? Okay...
  11. How is it double standards? One player was being played out of position and the other one wasn't/isn't. One has been at the club for less than a season and one has been around since 2016. And where did I say I wanted Werner to stay in the XI? Was I banging the drum about wanting Werner to start every game? I said nothing when he was taken off at HT at Arsenal and I said nothing when he started on the bench at Fulham and Leicester for example. And this is also about a player who caused us to be 3-0 down at West Brom and then didn't want to be part of the team by deciding to head to the team bus after being taken off. Says more about Chilwell? Don't be stupid. It's not as if managers don't have their blind spot in football.
  12. Oh look! Southampton go back to losing again. 7 defeats from their 8 league games...
  13. At this rate, we'll have the smallest stadium in the Premier League...
  14. It's also because of the board. We desperately need to rid ourselves of the deadwoods in the summer because we'll never build anything for the future if we keep them around! We bought Chilwell for the future but we're still playing Marcos fucking Alonso in 2021! It's just a fucking shame that Lampard was/is severely lacking in his tactical side of management!
  15. Picking a player specifically because of the height for set pieces is just stupid. How many other top sides do that? How many specifically pick a player who is bang average just because he is tall? Do we see Guardiola's side specifically just select a tall player for his height to defend set pieces? I don't know where or how we got this small-time/tragic mentality from. It's not as if Chilwell is a dwarf and has the body size of a bamboo stick either. And I don't even recall us conceding any goal from set pieces this season because of Chilwell. What's worse is that given we have a decent amount of days between this and Man United and Man United and Liverpool games, Tuchel would probably pick Alonso against those 2, even though they have pacey players in their squad.
  16. I just hate how Alonso has wormed his way back into the XI despite having done absolutely nothing for ages and we now have another manager who is seemingly in love with him. He wasn't even willing to sit on the bench and back the team when he caused us to be 3-0 down at West Brom but he now gets "rewarded" because of a change in manager. I'd rather take Chilwell at his average/worst than Alonso at his average/worst!
  17. It's always out a bit earlier in Champions League/Europa League.
  18. Starting XI confirmed: Mendy Alonso Rudiger Christensen Azpi CHO Jorginho Kovacic Werner Giroud Mount
