  1. Mata (along with Azpi and Torres) has been selected for Spain NT going to the Confederations Cup. *sigh* Though expected, disappointed to see Mata is heading to Confederations Cup. Badly needs a summer break! 6th summer tournament in 5 years! On the other hand, happy to see Azpi getting selected. Deserved. As for Torres, well okay. His Europa League form got him there...
  2. Oh how surprising. Forum has gone into overdrive mode with Mourinho returning.
  3. This thread has turned into 'TC Hall of Defame'... Get back on topic fellas!
  4. He's just heading to Ikea...
  5. Can go along with that. Am sick and tired of watching United, City then United winning the league title. Much will depend on what us and others do in the transfer market. If we get it right, then we can definitely mount of a strong and consistent title challenge and possibly win it. If not, say hello to the cups once more..
  6. No, it's 3. We were never really in it in the 2010/11 and 2012/13 season. In the former, started well but faltered away badly. Made a late push but nowhere good enough in the end. Same goes with last season. Started the season very well but then faded away completely. As for the 11/12 season, don't think I need to say anything about it when it's obvious.
  7. At least we already know where Mourinho is heading to. That Hazard one though, was completely different. Teased us all the way till the end. Hopefully, this place doesn't crash tomorrow!
  8. I know Essien is no longer the player he once was but I don't know why whenever people speak about him these days, there always seem to be a grudge or hatred feeling. People suddenly just seem to get so aggressive all of a sudden and some even agitated and pissed because of his supposed 'daddy-son' relationship with Mourinho. It's like as if he has just committed a sinful crime or something really really bad.
  9. This are probably minimum expectations for next season. So, yeah... Premier League - A title challenge After watching the two Manchester clubs dominate and fight out for the Premier League title in the last 3 seasons, would expect us to mount at the very least a strong title challenge for next season. With Mourinho's impending return and a couple of key additions to the squad including boosting the squad depth, am expecting us to close the gap at the top to about 5 points(?). And certainly hope we don't get dragged into any sort of battle for a Top 4 position like what happened in the past 2 seasons. That would be a major disappointment. Champions League - Quarter Finalist/Semi Finalist After the debacle of last season exiting the group stage as the champions, am expecting us to progress from the group stage this time around and get to the quarter finals at the very least, if not the semi finals depending on the luck in the draw. Not too confident that we can progress beyond that stage at this moment. Not easy at the moment with all the usual big suspects to get to those stages and it will also have to depend on the transfers in and out of the club, not just us but also others. FA Cup - Semi Final Given our domination in the FA Cup, am expecting at the very least another appearance in the semi final. Then again, maybe I should expect us to win this competition, again. League Cup - Winner Last season was our best chance to win the competition given all of the big teams were already knocked out by the time we play the semi finals. We should have gone on to win it until Ivanovic decided to be a santa claus and gifted Swansea two pathetic goals. It's not the most important of trophies but the last time we won this trophy was back in 2007. Too long now that we have not got our hands on this. So, definitely want to see us win this cup again! UEFA Super Cup - Winner Not gonna be easy this by any means against Bayern but we will not know how they would adapt to Guardiola's style when we play them. So, it could be to our advantage especially with this game to be played early on in the season. And after last season abysmal showing against Atletico, expecting us to put in more of a fight in this one and win the cup. Will be a good way to start the season too. Puts the players in a good frame of mind.
  10. Of course there would be but the coverage and/or publicity won't be huge as the club would probably want because most of the ENG journalists, media etc are in Brazil with their attention on the friendly game tonight. And knowing Jose, he will likely to demand the press conference on a weekday so that he can soak up all the love, attention, praise to boost his ego even further..
  11. Like I said, those notable ones. And moreover, I didn't say literally all of the English media is in Brazil now, did I?
  12. So, he confirmed, what we already know for ages now, that Mourinho is returning and yet there isn't even a single quote in there?!
  13. I can assure they are, at least those notable ones. Most of their attention is on the Brazil v England friendly. Nobody bothers about Jose...
  14. Regardless, it's highly unlikely that will happen today especially with the press conference bit when most of the English media are all in Brazil.
  15. That I believe was from yesterday, right?
  16. Valencia agreed fee for Mata on 21st August(Sunday). Medical took place on the 22nd and we officially announce the deal on the 24th, a Wednesday.
  17. At the earliest, tomorrow. Such huge announcements are not normally done on a Sunday or weekend for that matter. And besides, the club would want coverage or publicity, if it still needs it, on the appointment but not now when basically half, if not all, of the English media are in Brazil at the moment.
  18. Expecting him to be more a squad player next season where he will be used in games suitable to him, almost like what Benitez did with him, and still bang in his fair share amount of goals.
  19. Jose Mourinho: Premier League says Chelsea story 'a mistake'
  20. The expectations for next season have gone into overdrive mode with Mourinho's impending return. Wonder how many will turn against him if things don't go well...
