  1. TBF, it could give them a lift and lead to a snowball effect of United getting better players in. It's just that now they're pretty rubbish and will take time for United to sort this mess out.
  2. I know Mata wants game time but does he really want to join and play with this lot?!
  3. This thread has completely 'exploded' for the past 1 day or so. Every time you get out of it, there's always a new post or more. At this rate, it may catch up with the Torres one. Just another 230 pages to go...
  4. To think Mata is leaving the club first before Torres is just disgusting...
  5. No offence but that's a bloody short-sighted view. He may help them get points off Arsenal and City or not this season. He's not going single handedly make every United player turn world class all of a sudden to turn those lots over. Moreover, he will improve United in the long term.
  6. Saying goodbye to Juan Mata is something Chelsea fans shouldn't have to do so soon
  7. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! WHAT THE HELL!!
  8. http://www.chelseafc.com/chelsea-article/article/3629926 Has signed for Colchester on permanent deal.
  9. Wait, not sure why is Lampard brought into the equation in the first place when the point here along have been about the AMs. It's just that if we sell Mata, then Ramires might used out wide as an option if needed.
  10. Think we had an agreement with Liverpool that the Moses loan deal was to be a season long...
  11. As in the AM behind the ST in 4-2-3-1? For starters, don't think he even meet Mourinho's demands from the No.10..
  12. Ramires is an option on the RW but I would rather us not go there. We know how literally ineffective he can be out wide and won't take long before we all go bitching about it, again. As for the other 4, yes if one gets injured then we can play 4-3-3 to compensate but there will be only 3 AMs in 2 position and we can't overplay 1 or the other, can we? There's gonna be an issue in managing them to make they are not flogged to death and with just 3, there's a higher risk for the next one to get injured, hypothetically. Obviously, this won't be an issue if we get KOed early from the cup competitions but if not, then yeah.. Was prepared for the day we sell him but certainly not right now and certainly NOT to Man United, a PL rival, of all teams!
  13. Aye while that maybe true but you'll have to keep in mind that it was a rubbish West Ham side we played against, a West Ham side that is getting hammered in every game. Just because it worked against them, doesn't mean it will work against others and besides, that is only 1 game or in other words, such a small sample size to use as a counter argument to the squad depth point. In fact, I haven't seen anyone provide a solid reason or two that we can survive with 4 AMs for 3 positions for the remainder of the season. From the 'business' point of view, yeah I can see the benefits of getting 40m for a supposedly squad player which we can use the money for something else. I get that. However from the squad's perspective, where does this leave us for the remainder of the season? We'll only have 4 AMs then for 3 positions and it takes an injury to someone before we get down to our bare bones all of a sudden. There is no doubt that we have done well recently and with the trio of Hazard-Oscar-Willian and there's arguably no reason to break that up. However, I think people are getting carried away by that and forgetting in the past few weeks, we have only played a game once a week. Hence, there wasn't real need to change a winning team, if you like, as everyone is fresh and that is why the likes of Mata, Schurrle, Cole etc haven't played and only do when being called upon. If you all remember when we had tons of games before January, like every 3-4 days we have a game to play and the whole squad was basically utilized then, not just Mata, not just Schurrle but the full squad. After this week, we'll be basically playing a game every 3-4 days once more and when that time comes, we'll need everyone to come in and do their job as we cannot expect the current XI lot to play and perform every week. Am aware that with just 4 AMs, we could switch to a 4-3-3 again but every time when Mourinho has used that approach this season, it's only done to counter the opposition (e.g Arsenal away) or to close a game out. Of course, he did play it against West Ham but I suspect that was just more of adapting to the opposition we face. Mourinho has admitted that 4-2-3-1 is his favoured formation previously and even if we were to change formation from time to time, I don't think it will help much with the consistency. Moreover, changing to the 4-3-3 is one thing but would any of our current strikers be comfortable with that? Still gotta make sure everyone is comfortable within a system and not just having 1-2 parts functioning and the rest not. All in all, I can see both point of views in selling Mata but I just think there will be more negative impact on us if we were to do that now and this is excluding the implications of selling him to United.
  14. Training ground as in Cobham, I would imagine?
  15. To a certain extent, it's not much of a surprise. Mata was our No.10 for the past 2 seasons and did great for us and then Mourinho came in and suddenly declared Oscar was his No.10. So, you can perhaps the see connection and argument why this is happening.
  16. Blimey. You are sounding just like Phil Driver right now...
  17. But apparently, when the camera showed the set of players that didn't start against United, Mata was nowhere to be seen.
  18. By selling Mata, Chelsea are saying United are a spent force. They are wrong… this will be the beginning of the end of Moyes' crisis
  19. Daily Mail reported this... Mata misses Chelsea training with United closing in on deal for £37m Chelsea star But the Blues News Headlines on Chelsea TV apparently reported that "everyone but Torres is training today". Go figure.......
  20. Yeah. We fans have our own views on the Mata and Oscar situation, which is all good and fine, but the problem is there are some within each group wants to make a petty tribalism issue out of it just because the other person have different view to theirs and are considered not to support the club at all (an example of this would be like the post above this one). These lots can't agree to disagree that each fan have different views on what is best for the club and just seem adamant in wanting to brand the other person anti/pro-Mata or Oscar.
  21. Maybe we can trade Mata for Lucas...
  22. But he's not exactly an out-and-out RW is he? We will basically create problems for ourselves with this square peg in a round hole situation. Not sure if people have over-exaggerated his awful-ness out there but he really has not shone at all when he's used at RW.
