  1. You're really desperate for the win, aren't you?
  2. But as I said earlier, we can only beat what's in front of us. Given what was in front against Atletico then, Werner did what was needed to help us win (wasn't even playing on the left then). Against Palace today, had already suspected Werner wasn't going to start - something that I even mentioned in the Porto thread - and that has been the case. I've also literally made no mention of Werner whatsoever and yet, you want to start this debate...again. Even if I like Werner, am still a Chelsea fan first and foremost...christ! None of the points I originally made about Palace's passiveness was anything new. I've literally said the same things before, even long before Werner joined.
  3. Yeah but one game here doesn't mean we're suddenly good at breaking down such teams. If Tuchel plays this XI and we can do it against say Brighton, West Ham, Arsenal, then I'd agree with you. Sample size still too small for now. Fair?
  4. Not my fault if you're being picky and were you saying this after the second leg against Atletico? We played well in that game with Werner upfront along with Havertz and Ziyech. And I also added this to the previous post...
  5. Does it matter which order I put the sentences? lol We can only beat what's in front of us. So given what's in front of us today, we've done well. But at the same time, won't also get carried away because even Jorginho and Kovacic have looked good today and that's without them getting harassed like against Porto and West Brom. If we can perform this well consistently against pressing teams, then I would jump for joy then.
  6. We have been good today for sure. But it's also true that Palace have been very passive.
  7. Welcome back, mate! Yeah...this place has gone through A LOT since you last posted. lol
  8. Crystal Palace under Roy Hodgson are such obliging opponents. Imagine having seen us play crap when being pressed in the last 2 matches and decided to just sit off us... Anyway, lovely stuff so far. Lovely finishes for all 3 goals.
  9. I don't get paid. Do you want to pay me?
  10. PSG have gotten away with murder in the second leg against Barcelona and yesterday against Bayern. Barcelona had 21 shots and 10 on target in the second leg but somehow scored only 1 goal. Bayern had 31 shots and 12 on target but scored just 2 goals. If Bayern can find their shooting boots, they can turn it around in Paris.
  11. I don't exactly remember what happened with Torres but you talked as if Werner has only 2 years or 1 year left on his contract and we are running out of time to sell him for good money. He would still have 4 years left come this summer and if things are still shit come this time next year, we would still be able to fetch decent money for him then given he would have 3 years left. Also, have we not learned anything from the De Bruyne and Salah sagas? Do we not give players, especially in the first season after joining from another country, at least a second season to right the wrongs? It's easy to forget that Werner was doing alright before the November international break and before things went shit for him. He still has some good performances under Tuchel, it's just the performances haven't been consistent. He has also contributed more goals than anyone else in the team this season. That counts for something, no? His problems now seem more mental than anything else and his situation is also to different to Torres last time, as he was physically and mentally done by the time we signed him from Liverpool. On top of that, people talk swap deals like we're living in FM or FIFA world. Clubs can plan for swap deal for all they like but it won't happen if the players don't want the move. Last we heard is that the club don't want to sell Werner and Werner has no intention of leaving, especially when he said at the start that he joined us to win trophies. Plus, does Haaland even want to join us? If we don't get Top 4, we can forget about signing him. And do Dortmund even want a swap deal? Given the potential financial trouble they might find themselves in, they may prefer to take the full fee for Haaland to cover for their losses and then use whatever balance to sign a replacement.
  12. If the worst case scenario happens, we know who to blame...
  13. That's mostly because the service the front 3 got was shit. Jorginho and Kovacic couldn't pass forward to save their lives and any time our defenders tried to play forward passes, they overhit them. Even Tuchel said there was a disconnection between the back 7 and front 3.
  14. Don't think any more needs to be said about his misses but he still had good games against Liverpool and Atletico otherwise. Had a good assist against the latter and would have had a goal against the former if it wasn't for a stupid offside call. Not hiding behind Tuchel's decision. Just saying. We can argue about this and that 24/7 but we don't know exactly why he picks who he picks every time.
  15. Also negotiated his contract with City directly apparently. Didn't do it via agent etc.
  16. 7 clean sheets in 8 Champions League games this season.
