  1. Chelsea 1-0 Manchester City PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS 2020/21 FA Cup Semi-Final 17th April, Saturday 2021 Wembley Stadium 17:30 Kick Off (UK time)
  2. Job done. First CL semi-final since 2014. On the flip side, definitely watched the wrong quarter-final tonight...
  3. I know our next game is on Saturday but Tuchel not making a single sub when we have 5 available is odd...
  4. Tomo, we do not need to be reminded of getting spanked at home by a rubbish Villa side back then...
  5. Slightly better than the first leg and given the context of the tie, not too bothered about how scrappy the game has been...as long as we don't do anything stupid and get the job done. Also, that first half is exactly why I said what I said at the weekend - all fine and dandy to play well when the opposition play passively but it's another to play well when being pressed.
  6. Not surprised by the starting XI after the weekend's game but once again and especially after Kovacic's injury, great decision by Tuchel to leave Gilmour back in Cobham...no midfielders on the bench!
  7. STARTING XI: Mendy James Azpilicueta Silva Rudiger Chilwell Kante Jorginho Pulisic Mount Havertz SUBS: Kepa Caballero Christensen Zouma Hudson-Odoi Alonso Emerson Werner Abraham Giroud Ziyech
  8. I'd be surprised if Tuchel rotates as much as some of the predicted line-ups here.
  9. That's assuming Kepa even wants to stay as the 2nd choice. He could ask for a loan or something.
  10. Christensen got injured, I think. Wasn't in the squad at all. Zouma has 5 league goals this season, our joint-second top scorer. lol
  11. Chelsea 0-1 Porto PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS 2020/21 Champions League Quarter-Final Second Leg 13th April, Tuesday 2020 Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan 20:00 Kick Off (UK time)
  12. Only the 3rd time this season we've scored more than 3 goals in a league game this season - 2 of those have come against Crystal Palace.
  13. You're really desperate for the win, aren't you?
  14. But as I said earlier, we can only beat what's in front of us. Given what was in front against Atletico then, Werner did what was needed to help us win (wasn't even playing on the left then). Against Palace today, had already suspected Werner wasn't going to start - something that I even mentioned in the Porto thread - and that has been the case. I've also literally made no mention of Werner whatsoever and yet, you want to start this debate...again. Even if I like Werner, am still a Chelsea fan first and foremost...christ! None of the points I originally made about Palace's passiveness was anything new. I've literally said the same things before, even long before Werner joined.
  15. Yeah but one game here doesn't mean we're suddenly good at breaking down such teams. If Tuchel plays this XI and we can do it against say Brighton, West Ham, Arsenal, then I'd agree with you. Sample size still too small for now. Fair?
  16. Not my fault if you're being picky and were you saying this after the second leg against Atletico? We played well in that game with Werner upfront along with Havertz and Ziyech. And I also added this to the previous post...
  17. Does it matter which order I put the sentences? lol We can only beat what's in front of us. So given what's in front of us today, we've done well. But at the same time, won't also get carried away because even Jorginho and Kovacic have looked good today and that's without them getting harassed like against Porto and West Brom. If we can perform this well consistently against pressing teams, then I would jump for joy then.
  18. We have been good today for sure. But it's also true that Palace have been very passive.
