I don't think any of the younger lads are gonna break into the starting XI that quick unless they do very very very very very well. Mourinho is likely to go with his tried and trusted (and experience) players.

That was part of the Asia tour. Bound to have one to address the fans/media in other parts of the world. This season, we aren't doing that. We are just travelling around Europe playing minor teams. No point having one. It's highly unlikely you're gonna get a presser from Mourinho till when the league starts. Just gonna make do with interviews on Chelsea TV.

Considering the German and Brazilian lads will be having 3-4 weeks break after the World Cup (and 3 of them are our AMs!), do wonder how our lineup is gonna be when we start against Burnley. This perhaps? Courtois/Cech; Azpi/Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Luis; Matic, Mikel, Fabregas, Hazard, Salah; Costa P.S. Just going with the players we have now in the squad..

Strict with it is one thing but what I meant was the manager/club will judge on player to player basis. If they think he can still contribute to the team, then they'll get the contract extension. It's like how Terry, Lampard and Cole got theirs in the past 2 years or so.

I don't think the club is gonna strictly follow this policy of not offering contract players aged 30+. More of judging on case to case basis. Not advocating this Cahill deal to happen but I can see it happen, just probably not for the wages mentioned.

Disingenuous? You might actually want to check and calculate properly Khedira's appearances in all competitions under Mourinho first before you start calling others disingenuous. It's kinda ironic you claimed to watch all of Mourinho's games 'religiously' and yet said Khedria is not a starter under him? That's quite funny really.

The media must be running out of story to write about. That one has been reported a number of times now over the past couple of months. It's practically only a one year contract extension from his current one. Not sure it makes much of a difference whether he's 32 or 33 then, it's only one year. Besides, he could be a useful squad player to have next time as well as to fill up the HG quota.

Perhaps so but then again, the system and the way Barcelona played under Guardiola suited Messi to the max and brought the devastating best out of him. Ever since Guardiola left, Messi has never quite been the same. There are different tweaks to the system now under the different managers (with different ideas) and also to accomodate different set of players that has hampered him to some extent.
