I think most of us, myself included, have gotten a bit carried away and we haven't quite regained our composure from the anger we felt earlier today. While the way we have presented our message has been a bit petulant, even stupid, the validity of the message itself cannot be questioned. Once we cool down I still think many of us will want those involved in the coup released from the club, if not for being involved in toppling Villas-Boas, then at least for persistent poor performance on the pitch. I sincerely regret the statements and actions I made earlier today in response to this issue, not for the message itself, but for the angry, childish way I expressed myself. These boards deserve better, and I apologise.

The vast majority of people have woken up and smelt the coffee, he's a backstabber and worse, he's a poor player 9 times out of 10. I don't care if wanting the best for the club makes me plastic, and in this case, the best thing for the club is for this player to leave.

Moyes can get away with it once he ships the so called legends out. Has he got it in him tactically, though?
-
No. We can get by very well without him, provided we get a suitable replacement.

Alternatively he could just ship them all out to CSKA Moscow. -

I don't think they care much about that. I wish every contract included a stipulation, that you'd get fined 2 weeks wages every time you played well below an acceptable standard. -

Anyone can be our new manager. Really all we have to do is give the 'legends' a good kick up the arse, a fuck you and never come back to this club, and we're back heading the right way. -

No one's denying his ability. But he need to pull his head in, you're just a player, you'll never, ever, outrank the manager. If he says you're wank and you'll not play this season, you grit your teeth and try to prove him wrong on the training ground or on the pitch. You don't go moaning off to the media, you don't go get him sacked. He deserves everything he's got coming to him. I don't care if he's scored a million goals, look at Sir Alex, he never took shit from even better players than Lampard like Keane and Stam and van Nistelrooy , whenever anyone acted like "look at me I'm a legend I can do what I want, fuck you gaffer" , he got rid of them, sharpish. Lampard is no better than any of them, and the sooner he leaves, the better. He's past it, for one thing, his attitude is awful, and he's been involved in yet another player coup, regardless of what you choose to believe. -
You're right, Roman has a limited understanding of football having never been much of a fan, so its his advisors that really pull the strings. We mustn't blame the one man who single handedly saved our club from administration and possibly dissolution, and through his own generosity threw money at us to build a champion team.

Mate, this is football, not government. Past glories do not, allow anybody to strut around like they own the place. Look at Manchester United and their legends: van Nistelrooy, Beckham, Keane, Staam, all thrown out because they got big heads. Each of those players contributed more to United than Fat Frank ever has for us. We should have done the same thing with Fat Frank.

I don't think we can blame Roman. He's only listening to the myriad of yes men, players and other shadowy figures in the void between himself and the club. What we can fault him for is not taking charge of things, he seems to be content to let this vast chasm fuck up the club.

Good point, but I that many were resigned to the fact that they were past it. It was only a few that disagreed with the rest of the world. -
He's English, and thus has the press on his side, and not only that, he's related to the soon-to-be England manager. They'll support him even if he's averaging 6 own goals a game. They'll back him to the hilt over someone who takes them on like AVB, and that media pressure definitely worked on AVB, quite a bit. You could see he was stressed, that would not have helped at all. And he's probably been undermining him and whispering all kinds of things to Roman, like it's AVB's fault Torres is wank, it's AVB's fault, he got the tactics wrong and that's why we're 5th, etc. AVB is utterly blameless in the whole affair, and he goes as a wronged gentleman.

Good luck, Andre. I didn't see eye-to-eye with him, and there were certainly a few substitutions and team selections I disagreed with, but you're a nice bloke, and really, you didn't deserve to have to manage a shower of shit that felt they were still a shower of gold (no pun intended with golden showers). -

You realise, if we'd had Sir Alex Ferguson or any manager with a pair of nuts, pieces of work like Lampard would have been shipped out to Real Madrid and/or had boots kicked at them at the first signs of trouble? We've had too many weak, indulgent managers in the past. The two with some balls, Scolari (who was shit tbf) and Villas-Boas have been destroyed, and quickly. A former World Cup winner working at Bundyokor Tashkent, and who knows what will happen to Andre?

We can solve the question easily. Any who publicly agitated, or showed via body language on the bench, that they were angry at being dropped, were most likely involved in the coup. Drogba had been relegated to the bench as early as the February 11, so thats him out. Essien hasn't played in ages and probably appreciates a little extra caring towards his knees. Not sure about Malouda, and I doubt Mikel has any power at all. Kalou's been on the bench for his entire life, and he's not very powerful either. Cech shouldn't have a problem at all, he's gotten good minutes. I would consider Hilario, but imagining him having any influence at all is laughable. We can rule out Bosingwa and Meirieles, the latter probably hasn't built any power and the former was AVB's favourite. One dark horse we haven't considered is Paolo Ferreira, but he's been out for several years now. That leaves us with Ivanovic, who's started fairly often. In summary, Malouda is the only one who gets out of that lot without an excuse. He could have joined forces with Lampard/Cole. There are slight, very slight chances JT could have gotten involved, but that depends on how matey he is with Lampard and Cole, and if he's really going to sack a manager for one of his mates- he wasn't involved in the Scolari Revolution despite Drogba, his friend, being the pissed-off-benched-player in chief. -

I suppose it would be unfair of me to expect Drogba and Malouda to bother to interfere. Their Chelsea careers are just about over. They owe it to us as fans, yes, hell, they owe it to themselves, but at least they try on the pitch. At least they work hard to earn a first team place and realise and accept that their first team career is nearly over, instead of bitching about it and sacking managers. -

I don't think the foreign lot, Drogba's mob, were involved. IMO it was entirely the English crew, minus John Terry. But Drogba et al are nearly as bad as them, they're enablers, they stand by and watch it happen and never put a stop to it. The one ray of light from this is that the younger/new players steered well clear of it. Torres, Mata, Romeu, Ramires, David Luiz, Lukaku, even Kalou, etc. would not have gotten involved in this shit and had they had more influence would surely have nipped it in the bud. -

I'm sorry for my overreaction, if I'm one of the appalling posters you alluded to earlier. It was an initial surge of anger, and I regret burning the Lampard shirt, I could have gotten $10 for it if I sold it. Andre deserved more. He was a gentleman, he tried, he fought, but he's been undone by players that are unfit to wear the shirt anymore and have grandiose notions of managing the club one day. I hope for our sake, for Blues worldwide, that that never happens. He deserved far, far more than what we gave him. As fans, some of us questioned his every move. The media hounded him for months. The players and the board shafted him. I love Chelsea, with a passion that is life consuming, but I cannot tolerate such actions committed by anyone, even if its done by people who have a connection with the club, from legendary status with Lampard to general cunt Gourlay. Just because they've done stuff for us in the past, scored some goals, whatever, does not mean they have a blank cheque to waltz around the club and do what they like. -
