Comparing 2004 to 2012 is wrong because back then we needed to build a new team from the bottom, and the money was more freely to spend. A major restructuring like that happen at the beginning of a major take over. We saw it as well with Manchester City. But from here on both teams will play it less due to the Uefa rules. City in order to buy needs to sell. If Chelsea buys two this transfer window then that will make sense since we are letting go of 2 players. Selling 5 or 6 players in one transfer and trying to buy that same amount is very hard. I believe that was the major downfall of Carlo. He let so many player go, that he had a bench full of youngster.

You hit the nail, "trying". If we can't get Hazard, then most likely we will settle for De Bryune like we did for Meireles.....
-
lol yeah true that, two seasons that would be insane. But we screw up in buying him at the wrong time. We needed the most creative players and wingers....which we still do. Next season should be his last chance. If he can't produce nothing good, then yes it's over for him. Second season will be very important as well for AVB. So it's not just Torres, but AVB must show something good. He does not has to win anything next season, but just show a better image then what was display this season. Thus having someone like Hazard might help greatly for those two objectives.

Pay the money, leave him in loan till the end of the season, and if they want we can give them a young talent like Lalkovic, or Mellis? Don't think some of our youngster will ever make it to the team. But he can easily be worth double in two or three seasons. So he is very worth the risk. Risk like this are more worth taking then when you buy an older player like Sheva and Torres. Even though I back Torres to come good in a season or two, but resale value will never be as high as we payed. With this kid there is that chance.

I can't wait for the match. Feels like an eternity since last match!
-
Can someone tell me the different role their exist with this kid and other potential targets like Lucas from Sau Paulo and Ganso from Santo? And how different is he from players like Mata, Modric and Silva? Thanks.

Turning into a Hazard will be too much to ask. I put Hazard in the mold of Robben. If I have to compare, I would put this kid to turn out to be as descent as Joe Cole.....

That skysport article says his price is at 33 million pounds. Since Chelsea is always with the notion of buying and loaning, then Chelsea should just fork out the money and let the boy stay there till the summer. This is what Lille wants, to keep the boy to the summer so if you give them that deal, I am sure they will gladly accept this winter and we will have already secured a promising player for the next season.

You guys are looking into this too much. Any blind men will tell you that this squad needs to rejuvenate. Just that not many managers want to laid it out publicly that their squad is not good enough....something I hear Mancini do a lot, and it's his style. But coaches like AVB, SAF, Carlo, Wenger and such shy away from that. I am confident in what AVB is planning, he showed me his talent in picking out Mata and Romeu. This squad is good enough to finish 3 or 4, but winning a tittle would be hard. So no need to panick over dropping out of the top 4.

Good news, how much will he get in wages? Anyone knows?
-
Yup that's it. Well good talking to you my friend.
-
And there in lies also the confidence of the manager. A secured manager like SAF, and Owen Coyle to a certain extent they can take gamble with this. I don't think Carlo never felt safe to take that gamble...in the end he was right. It might be the same with AVB..... But I did noticed that AVB was giving more chances at the beginning of the season....and back then we where in better form then we are right now.
-
Another example is SAF youth. They started with fire and now a mere reflection of it's former self. The state of mind from United squad at the beginning was great. Very organized, good in spirit. Today it's a lacking desire, and then that in turns has a negative effect on the younger players. Look at how Phil Jones performance has drop drastically. And at the same time take a look at a player like Nani, who was also in good form, and has dip greatly. So from what i can see, is that when your team is in a bad moment that bad moment might not be ideal for a young player.....
-
And then we go back to the Owen Coyle example. He is a good manager, good with youth, but what happen with Kakuta? More of a downfall of the team, then the player itself and the manager. Right now the best team to foster a youth spirit, is at a team like Swansea. Reminds of Own Coyle team of 2 season ago.

Well the only way to answer this sort of question, is to go back to a similar scenario last year when where in some sort of same predicament with Carlo. Qualified for the next CL stage, and instead of playing nothing but younger players we played the majority of the older core team. Why was this done? Well I think for the same reason it was done today.....
-
My friend is all about the team state of mind. I am not sure if I can put that in better word, but I will simply give some examples and illustration. Take example Bolton Owen Coyle. The last two seasons he had two loan players, one was Wilshere, and the next one was Sturridge. During that time these two kids excell, but when they excell how was the team doing? They where up on the rise, very organized, and good spirit. In this new season, when Kakuta got loaned to that same team, it was harder because the team was in shambles. They are fighting for a relegatin spot, and this type of environment is very hard for a youngster to take part. It is why as frustating a lot of people where with Carlo, by not putting too much preassure on the youngster it might have helped them. Right now Chelsea is also in a same situation. Going through a tough time, and i don't think it would be wise to put these youngs kids in the fire and risk the chance of hindering their growth for the coming years.

Sorry for the double post. I think there was some problem when i made my initial post.

I like Ramires. He is a very good player. He brings some of the dynamism we lost after Essien injurie. Chelsea can start building a nice core with Ramires, Romeu, Mata, Sturridge, David Luiz, and Torres for the new generation of 3 to 5 years range. It seems like the manager has this in mind. After that will be also great to see which youngster can get into the team in the coming seasons like Sturridge has done. Come on Chelsea!

Hi new guy here. Chelsea is playing bad, but winning, it's a start. Chelsea still need to change some of the player, and will be interesting to see who leaves this transfer and who we get. I hope the manager continues with the team, and continues to change the team in the summer.

I like Chelsea. I was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. I grew up in US, and i go back and forth from my home country of Ecuador to US. Over here in Ecuador people fallow more United because of Antonio Valencia, but I liked Chelsea before he join United, so I won't change my allegiance because of that. Anyways, Chelsea is going to some tough times right now, but will still support. Hopefully in a year or two, Chelsea can get back to the glory days. Fernando
