Can't take you seriously now when it's obvious your hate of Sturridge is clouding your judgement of him as a player, apparently he can even be called a c... now for celebrating a winner he scored in extra time.
-
So you're one of the ones that voted Torres 38th best player in Chelsea history?
-
Sad thing is this injury is unrelated to his recurring problem, reckon he's just very injury prone.
-
Things like this, how was he pathetic? He was average. If he was pathetic the likes of Piazon and Romeu must have been two of the worst performances seen in a Chelsea shirt. He scored and set up two goalscoring chances, give him some credit.
-
Sturridge is better than Moses at RW
-
At the end of the day the guy got a goal and set up two goal-scoring chances for Moses. If that's him being 'abysmal' and 'awful' and other crass hyperbole that's been said, I can't wait till he's actually given a few more chances, and is allowed to improve to the point of being 'good'.
-
Has started tonight and is doing well, assist and a big goal threat apparently.
-
Even if they do get crosses in, Torres very rarely attacks the near post so once again it's mainly counter productive. He's never been a striker that relies on crosses, so I'm not sure why this means he should start moving out of position as the sole focal point if he doesn't get any. It's clear the emphasis on this team is more through central areas than wide. And it's not as if Mata, Oscar and Hazard don't get balls in, just see Ramires' goal. Torres is just rarely in the right position in the box. For the United game we were playing 4-3-3 when Torres crossed. Mata was LW with a free role, thus he (and Sturridge) could get into the box.

And who exactly is then in the box if he crosses? It's totally unneccessary and counter productive. We do need an outlet out-wide so the trio don't always have to come inside in a game like United, but Torres coming wide dorsn't solve much unless we have someone else coming into the box, like Sturridge.
-
In line for an U21 call up apparently.

Kakuta assist for Vitesse today .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SE0WogKOhOM

Yes, I was always against the Torres transfer. £50m for, in my view, a declining and injury prone (though he hasn't been the latter at Chelsea) striker? Was never going to work.
-
Torres was declining even before he joined us, to me it was quite obvious.
-
Because he's not good enough.
-
Hulk would have been just as much a flop as Torres. So overrated. Wouldn't even start for us.
-
Do you remember his goal vs. Wigan last year? World class touch and finish, didn't get enough credit for it IMO, very tidy goal (and a great pass from Cole).
-
What???? Mancienne was rubbish in as soon as he moved to the PL, and you've forgotten the massive success Sturridge had at Bolton.
-
Came on yesterday and set up Hazard for a one on one with his first touch (often get people saying Torres starts over him because Torres has much better link-up play) as well as having a hand in the goal.
-
Sent off tonight
-
For the people asking where he's playing, it's in a 4-5-1, or specifically a 4-1-4-1, in one of the two CM places.

Chelsea midfielder Gael Kakuta is in hot water at loan club Vitesse after turning up late for the third time this season. The 21-year-old joined the Dutch side on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day but is yet to make his debut in Holland. He was in line for his Vitesse bow at the weekend, when they travelled to NAC Breda for an Eredivisie clash, because of an injury to Renato Ibarra. But manager Fred Rutten was forced to dump Kakuta from his squad after the Frenchman, who has already turned up late for training twice this season, failed to report at the correct departure time for Breda. "Normally I'm OK about these things and would just warn him again," Rutten told De Telegraaf. "But this was his third time already. That is not smart of him. I've warned him before and this time I left him at home." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Starting to have less sympathy now after things like this. Previously thought he was unlucky with injuries and poor management, but only so many excuses. If he put the effort in and grounded his talent he could still quite easily be in this Chelsea squad in the coming seasons. Still reckon he'll be quality some time in the future, but not for Chelsea.

How dare a Chelsea striker be compared to another Chelsea striker !

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01nlww0/The_Football_League_Show_2012_2013_21_10_2012/ 42:35 Watford highlights , can see a couple of Chalobah chances. Nice to see Zola doing well too, the Watford fans seem impressed with the new style of play, with wingbacks, that he has them playing.
