  1. It's useless because people are basing it on highlights. As said, if you actually watched the game, you would have seen Sturridge create chances, change the game for Liverpool. It is baffling how people are so bitter about him, and then say they do not care that he has gone. Liverpool fans, MOTD, most player ratings, all say he was good. Someone said earlier I supposedly want Sturridge to do well so I can say I told you so (not true) - I could equally say others are trying to kid themselves that he's not a good player, didn't make a positive contribution and wouldn't have to this squad over Torres.
  2. You say that maybe if he looked to pass or cross in a while, maybe they'd have drawn - you obviously missed his cross from the left straight to Borini's head which he scuffed, or the volley he also set up for Borini, sliding Suarez through who's touch let him down. It happens every match - Sturridge will generally have a good game, but he so much as takes one shot that is not a goal and people go back to the usual. How dare Sturridge, a striker, shoots.
  3. It was a poor choice of words from Lukaku.
  4. If you actually watched the game you'd have seen he was their best player in the second half and really changed the game for them, as well as creating 3 chances for Suarez and Borini.
  5. He put five fingers up. The cynic could say he did it for 5 European Cups (highly doubt), others saying he was 'high fiving' united fans. Or maybe he just put five fingers up and didn't mean anything by it? Not really bothered.
  6. Doing some very rough calculations, Sturridge has a goal every 97 minutes this season. One does not have to be a great finisher to be a great goalscorer(Suarez, Drogba) - and not all great finishers are great goalscorers.(Walcott, though he's done well this season). Mind you, if he learnt to compose his finishes he could be one of the best forwards in the PL.
  7. I know Sturridge's faults and limitations. But people tend to exaggerate them so much. I don't overrate Sturridge, at least I like to think I don't. Haven't made outlandish statements about his ability, but when people make the stereotypical comment like, "Sturridge is a crap player, poor attitude, doesn't work, never passes/assist and always shooting etc." I find it ridiculous, like people who say Mikel never pass forwards. It is just going with what the (in my opinion, unfair) view on Sturridge when if you actually watch him he's not that had. For instance his passing is actually quite good.
  8. People's hatred of Sturridge gets in the way of the fact he's actually a good player.
  9. I liked how he was linking up very well with his peers that match, crossed a pinpoint cross straight to Borini's head, but one shot can undo that and he's back to 'selfish prat Sturridge'. He changed the game for Liverpool. The goal was easy, but Torres or most other strikers wouldn't have even bothered following up. People under appreciate goals like that. 4 goals this season with the amount of game-time he's had is a fantastic return. That's about a goal every 60-70 minutes.
  10. Todd is starting for Blackburn at RB against Wolves, live on Sky Sports in 10 minutes. Good luck to him
  11. I'm not really interested in that DM story, exactly the type of feature they will often print with no evidence as they try and put 1+1 together. Has happened with many players.
  12. I don't think it is a coincidence quite alot of Torres' biggest detractors now were once his biggest supporters. I myself was never for the signing at all, but, let's be honest, we do go overboard on him. However it is only akin to the ridiculous amount of praise and unconditional support Torres got until the tide started turning midway through last season, and has continued to do so.
  13. Very witty. Good deflecting of the question. Usually done when one has no answer. Moses has 1 assist this season - Sturridge got 7 last season. Hell, Sturridge has one this season as well (against City).
  14. The likes of Kalou, Mikel, Sturridge, Torres booed over the years. Only one deserved it. We sold the wrong striker.
  15. Does it not speak volumes we need two players to replace one? Sturridge is also better at RW than Moses, and while Ba is a better CF (not massively - until this summer their careers had been pretty much identical since being regular starters in the PL) I'd much rather him AND Ba then Ba and Torres
  16. Where exactly did Sturridge show a poor attitude in training? And I'm pretty sure the reason AVB didn't go for him was because he didn't need him.
  17. Nathaniel Chalobah (and Ruben Loftus-Cheek) named in Mail Sports' '15 English stars you should get excited about': http://t.co/tUSP8x06
  18. Not going to lie, don't really rate Todd. Think he's one of those players who progress at youth level thanks to energy and work rate and tenacity - as a talent I don't think he's special. He'll probably be fine at Blackburn but be just that - fine. Not exceptional. Sorry if this comes across as harsh, just saying what I think of him right now - would happily be proved wrong.
  19. Ruben Loftus-Cheek (and Nathaniel Chalobah) named in Mail Sports' '15 English stars you should get excited about': http://t.co/tUSP8x06
  20. What do you mean 'vanished'? After he scored he put Shelvey through for a one on one and really caused their defence problems with his dribbling and pace. You may not have noticed him later on because he was not on the pitch due to being taken off at 55' - BR saving him.
  21. Where did he insult our club? He has only praised Liverpool since he joined.
  22. How dare Sturridge celebrate a goal he scores! Cocky so and so, celebrating his own goals. Can't believe that.
  23. What did people want him to say? He's 4 days in at a new club - did you want him to then start bigging up Chelsea over Liverpool?
