  1. Not a fan of Fellaini at all. For starters, he's very unlikable, but beyond that, as a footballer, he's not what we need, for the price he'd go at. He's best the further forward he is, and would be very average in a pivot. More mobile than Mikel, and versatile - yes - but as the role of an actual DM Mikel performs much better. Just because Fellaini is 6"4 and strong dorsn't make him a DM. Beyond that, we have just as good CM prospects. Chalobah, for instance, as well as Romeu and of course KDB. I'd include McEachran as I also rate him as a talent but he's the least like Fellaini.
  2. I liked his perfect hat-trick of misses in the first half alone.
  3. I thought he was good last night. Even created a chance, for Torres. Problem with that is that it was created for Torres
  4. Gianfranco Zola tips teenager Nathaniel Chalobah for Chelsea success http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21528209
  5. Looks like a very good talent, but with McEachran, Oscar, KDB, Chalobah, Aké (depending on where he is played) as well as the younger players (around same age as Hughes but not as developed), like Baker and RLC, wouldn't see any massive need for him.
  6. Omeruo - "I must first see what the plans of Chelsea are," said Omeruo. "But if I'm not playing in England I would like to remain with ADO. "For me, it's either ADO or Chelsea."
  7. Arsenal are eyeing Chelsea superkid Nathaniel Chalobah. The Daily Star says Chalobah, 18, has starred for Gianfranco Zola's promotion-chasing Watford during his loan spell this season. No way Arsenal!
  8. No, Watford are not technically breaking any loans. I think there are limits to loans in the same league, in England. Or it might be limits to loans nationally, any league.
  9. I agree, Chalobah is still quite under appreciated by external sources, despite the fact he is doing just as well as Will Hughes, Redmond, Shaw, Sterling etc. Mind you, I am glad they are not overhyped. Because, out of the list above, I do think Sterling, and Redmond are overhyped by the media, can add AOC to that as well. Like most young players they'll suffer from inconsistency and then come under criticism if it prolongs.
  10. Great win. No mean feat, 2-0 win, away at Barce, without four of your best U19s(Chalobah, Piazon, Aké and Blackman). A very commendable performance. Really held their own, and were clinical with their chances, which the Barcelona players were not. Davey, Christensen, both did very well, made several important interceptions, blocks and tackles between them, and Davey has improved so much with the ball at his feet. I thought Kane made good runs - we have misse them when Christensen has played RB, while Kane's stamina an athleticism makes Fankaty Dabo, who is still pretty athletic, seem like José Reyes. Dabo is, of course, younger and less experienced. I thought Kiwomya stretched the game well. But of course, best player on the pitch, as well as youngest, goes to Jeremie Boga. Very exciting talent - and my type of player. Has that extra bit of flair and vanity. I like how he is not just a dribbler. He can pick out a pass, and he knows how to finish (8th goal this season). Last players to make this sort of impact as a schoolboy were Chalobah and McEachran, good omen. Great show from them.
  11. It is quite impressive Chalobah has got 4 goals in his debut season in profressional football. While McEachran is still searching for his first. I rate both highly, but there's a big difference in the confidence Chalobah plays with.
  12. Some nice quotes from him about his desire to play for Chelsea.
  13. And it is far too easy for you to get wound up. Apparently seeing posts that show any sign of regret at the fact we sold him, which, given his form, is justified, instigates random outbursts from you, born out of stubbornness.
  14. Seems like the only one crying is you. If you are so over Sturridge and do not care about him, why do you get so bothered if people rate him? Sounds like your hate of him is a contributor to the fact you can't get over him.
  15. John Chapman ‏@BelgoFoot Thorgan Hazard impressive (articulate) on Tribune, for 19 year-old. Says preferred position central midfield, quite deep. #cfc
  16. Even Sturridge is one away from Torres. Just to take that into account, Sturridge made just one start for Chelsea in the league this season, and only about 30 minutes of that appearance was as a CF, and has only been playing for Liverpool for, less than 2 months. I would heavily bet within 2 weeks he will at least be on level with Torres.
  17. It is a shame we will never get to see him become a top player in a Chelsea shirt. Mind you, I think this is a good fit for Sturridge, as he is best starting week in week out, where the chances to get that oppurtinity at Chelsea were scarce. The fluid system he plays with Suarez also suits his style, similar to AVB and the slightly more free role he had at Bolton with Davies, as opposed to RDM and Benitez's rigid 4231. It is also not goalscoring. Mentioned this before but Sturridge is actually pretty creative. Good awareness and ball control, and has a pretty good pass. Oh well..
  18. This is what I think. While I don't think changing formation is the be all and end alls to our problems, I do think it would suit the players we have next season. One thing I would be wary bout would he a lessened effect of Mata - but he was still good there last season in a 4-3-3, and he has improved even further since then. The space he leaves can then be exploited by Azpi. Another thing I wasn't so sure about was Hazard as a goal threat, but he's definitely improved that in recent weeks - could be the more direct option. I also agree with you about midfield - having a choice of any two of Oscar, Ramires and KDB would be great. Very adaptable and different players, yet all good. Mikel and Romeu are both top holding players. Problem comes with the last midfielder - ideally we need 6. Maybe could be Lampard, and then the season after McEachran/Chalobah will be ready to step up.
  19. Buying Marin has been meh, but of course not every club will get every transfer right. I definitely agree with loaning KDB out though.
  20. PVA on CFC return: "I'd quite like to stay another year at Vitesse, I want to play as much as possible."
  21. Mata cannot play midfield and ideally we need a better starter than Moses next season.
  22. I do not agree that one start makes this loan correct. McEachran in his early days had one start. He did quite well. Made a great chance for Danny Grahan, and then was on the bench for the rest of the season. Kakuta and PVA also started their first 1-2 games for Fulham and Bolton, Wigan for PVA, then also did not get a look in. Remains to be seen how they use Piazon - but I still do not think they will use him anymore than we would have, while we're playing 2 games a week and had all those players injured/suspended.
  23. Just reading a Birmingham fan's blog on the and and he had this to say about Chalobah:
  24. He did show some good movement for that goal he scored in pre-season but other than that I thought he looked quite uncomfortable, he lost the ball a lot. He still has a lot of potential as a playmaker/second striker IMO, so I'd be fine with him staying there, but I guess I'm just intrigued to how he'd do if he was a bit more direct out-wide.
