Behind, in and around the striker... or in a number 8 role but with less responsibility on defensive duties. I really feel he should be the link between attack and midfield . That being said, I'm not saying he is the solution to all our problems. We still need at least 2 serious midfielders and I long for a proper right winger... a player who can take the FBs on and produce goals and assists.

People are comparing him with Werner.... two completely different players. Werners technical ability is very limited and heavily relied on acceleration into space... his finishing is that of just hit the ball and hope it hits the back of the net. Nkunku has technical ability in abundance, he has an eye for a pass... can accelerate past players from a standing position. He can trick his way out of a congested scenario. His finishing is precise and decisive.. when he scores, you know he meant to put the ball where it ends up... none of this hit and hope shite we keep witnessing at our club. If you put this guy in City's team, my word, he would absolutely flourish behind Haaland. This being said, I do believe we need to either bring Broja on or look to sign Leao so Nkunku can play off the more physical presence as I don't feel Nkunku can lead the line week in and week out. He is more of a drop deep into the pockets and arrive on the scene kind of player.

I think they would rather keep him until the summer too considering how he is their main source of goals and assists. They haven't had the best of starts to the season, so it would probably make sense for them to hold onto him until then end of the season.

Just watched back highlights of Havertz in this game. Fuck me... it's pretty obvious now that we were indeed taken to the cleaners with this guy. Bang average.

Like I said, the CB pairing was a little strange but the only logical explanation for it is that Azpi is the captain and he may have felt his experience could be vital along with the fact that KK has been hurrendous and Fofana is new to the team. If he had started KK or Fofana and they had a horror show, you and many others would have found a reason to moan.

The defensive set up was a head scratcher but let's be real with ourselves here.. it nearly worked. This game was like a pre season game for Potter. He will watch the game back and see Azpi's deficiencies that led to the goal... (not being able to get tight to the free man) and If he doesn't change it for the next game, then yes, we should worry. It's his first game in charge and despite what alot of people are saying, we played better than the last few games under TT. The squad is lacking sevierly in midfield and attack and Potter isn't a a miracle worker. I don't think we will see vast improvements until next season in all honesty.. I feel we will have to be patient and hope for smaller improvements along the way.

Broja needs to start from now on, no excuses. Azpi is done, what did he do that Fofana can't? I know Fofana may have had a better chance at closing the gap to the fella who scored, that's for sure. Azpi saw he was there but didn't have the legs to press or try and cut the ball out.. like I say he's done. Havertz needs to be dropped for the foreseeable future. We actually played pretty well in that game but their goal was a result in a lapse of concentration from all involved with Silva lunging into a tackle that didn't need lunging into. We attacked with intent and had promising moments... The sheer idiocy of people already damming Potter after a week in charge makes me feel ashamed of our own to be honest. Need to rally together and support this man. Let him do his work..
