  1. I have a feeling this won't be the last young player leaving us. Many more will go soon if they are not given playing time in the first team. If the young players are not given a chance this could be the first of many leaving us in the near future im afraid...
  2. Im going to have the biggest bash of my life if we get this guy. Didn't he say he wanted to stay in the North West?
  3. Yeah, looking at them players listed. Robben and Drenthe will give us more depth, not forgetting Drenthe can also play left wing.
  4. Nah, i think thats just to warn clubs away, i reckon we could get him for 30M. Don't forget Mourinho was a former Chelsea boss and swap deals can be done.
  5. Are first half of fixtures looks easier than the second half...
  6. This is the problem, people judge Ibrahimovic on this game. Also looking at the comments Mourinho said before the game that he was the best in the world. Do you think Mourinho actually believed this? It's mind games. He lacked service in that game and if i remember correctly he came closest to scoring. To judge a player on one game is pathetic. Ibrahimovic is overated by the British media and press... who have never even watched Italian football. This guy is great technically and with some work could be come one of the best in the world. But we do not need him at this moment in time. And as much as i hate Carragher... overated? Im not even going to comment.
  7. First of all i said we didn't need him. Especially considering the price we can get someone cheaper from elsewhere like some of the players you listed. I don't know who said he was worth 76M but that price has to be to put other clubs off. Do you really think we are going to buy him for 76M? Seriously? There have been other prices rumoured today of buying him between 20-30M. Half the players you listed are going to cost even more. His not overated i stand by that.
  8. Has to be beating Liverpool 3-1 at Anfield. Oh and the FA Cup.
  9. Drogba will be missed agaisnt Arsenal.
  10. I've always been impressed when i've seen Drenthe play. He's young and has great potential but i don't think he would like to be a second choice left back. And i doubt he would stay for long. Even though he can play left wing too but again his not likely to be first choice. However he could give us the depth in the squad we need. Van Der Vaart hasn't really been given a chance at Real Madrid but i don't see why we need him. He would end up being a squad player, similarly to how he is being used at Real Madrid. Especially if Deco and Ballack stays. I don't see what he can give us at this moment in time. Robben would be great to have back too. I think if he can stay fit for more than 2 days he can be one of the best in the world.
  11. On the Drogba thing, i don't really blame him for his reaction after the game. It's a Champions League Semi final, there's a lot on the line, and i think you just get caught up in the moment. I don't blame Drogba for it at all. Looks like Ivanovic is going to come in at right back. Hopefully Mancienne will get a chance then again i doubt it. Drogba will be missed though in them games, Bosingwa can be replaced. Drogba, is very important too us especially in the Champions League.
  12. Not really overated...People just say that after the Inter vs Man United game last year...where Mourinho said he was the best in the world which was obviously just mind games. However we don't need him at the moment.
  13. None of these strikers except Villa come close to a fully fit Didier Drogba.
  14. Ageing players is not what we need i know. But why would you not want Villa? I'd say Villa still has a good 4-5 years in him yet. With Villa your guaranteed goals. He has got goals where ever he has gone. Easily one of the best goal scorers around at the moment. However i doubt he will come to Chelsea or England. He has said he wants to stay in Spain. I'd say he most likely to go to Barcelona or Real Madrid.
  15. Would be a great signing. And is still a very possible move if you ask me. All this talk about him not going to any of United's rivals is shit. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to City or us. Firstly, Tevez wants to move, Fegie wants to sell, the United fans our now agaisnt him. It's very likely he will move if you ask me. Players have done it in the past what about Figo from Barca to Real Madrid?
  16. Last Summer Claude Makelele quietly moved from Chelsea too Paris Saint Germain. Some how left unnoticeably, leaving Mikel to take up his role. There are not many players out there today who have a position named after them. The commonlly know "Makelele role" is now used worldwide. To be fair to Mikel he has took up the role well but is young and still has a lot to learn if he wants to reach the heights of Makelele. In recent times, defensive midfielders are the key to successful teams. Just look at the work of Yaya Toure at the treble winning side Barcelona. During the galatico's era at Real Madrid Makelele was earning a quarter of what the likes of Zidane, Figo, Mcmanaman were earning. Zidane, described him as the "engine of the team" during them days. The players felt he was one of the most important players in the team. He quite fairly decided to ask for a new contract. Perez the president of Real Madrid at the time quickly refused. "We will not miss Makelele he said...his technique is average, he lacks the speed and skill to take the ball past opponents." Out of order this may seem but we can actually thank Perez on this. This persuaded Makelele to hand in a transfer request. Where in the Summer of 2003 he signed for Chelsea for £16.8M. Without Makelele in the team Real Madrid struggled, after winning the Champions League in 2002 with Makelele in the team they struggled to get past the quater finals after Makelele left. It was Real Madrid's loss and Chelsea's gain. Mcmanaman described him as "the best player Real Madrid have had in years" "but people just didn't notice him". Similarly at Chelsea he left queitly, some how unoticebly. Unfortunately age is catching up with Maka, but this was a player who Mourinho named as player of the year twice during the back to back title winning seasons. Makelele played 71 times for France. He was very important too our title winning team. He should be more appreciated, and is with out doubt a Chelsea legend. He also has played 18 more times for Chelsea than he did for Real Madrid. He's not only a footballing legend but a Chelsea one too.
  17. We don't know if he really said this or meant it. But calling our fans ghosts? Are support could be better but this is coming from a Arsenal player? Who's fans only have one song, and im not even going to go into the libary highbury part.
  18. So not true! As for Barcelona they are the best team in Europe at the moment but they are not as strong as some people seem to think they are. Obviously they have the best player in the world Messi who we know is going to be hard to stop. Eto keeps scoring despite not playing that well. And Henry is playing well also but is nowhere near as good as he was in his Arsenal days. Xavi and Iniesta are up there with the best midfield players in the world but have played nearly every game this year for Barca and will soon tire. The defence is their weakest point and that is why i think Drogba will play a key part for us. Physically we should win the battle in midfield which will give us an advantage. Not forgetting that we have the 2nd leg at the Bridge so we have every chance of getting through.
  19. Frank Lampard for me quite easily actually. Bluelion its good to see you have mentioned Mikel, who has probaly had the second best season individually. After Makelele left he has played the holding role well, especially under Scolari. He's still young so has time to improve... he can become a very important player for us in a few years time.
  20. It would be great to see that happen, sadly i can't see it though. I think Hiddink will rest a few on the weekend but i can't see any of the young players getting a chance. Barca have a tough game agaisnt Valencia and still have La Liga to win so i doubt they will be resting any. So this is a good chance for us too rest key players.
  21. We may as well rest players for this game for the Barcelona match. Give a few of the young players a game. I doubt Barcelona will be resting players as they have a tough game on the weekend agaisnt Valencia. The league is over for us while Barcelona still have La Liga to win. I can't see Hiddink giving the young players a chance though...
  22. Ivanovic is my choice for the LB postion. Messi like's to cut inside, Andy Gray was talking about this last night so it maybe a good thing having a right footed player at left back anyways. No point putting Essien there we then lose the drive we get from Essien in midfield.
  23. As long as its someone that is a half decent manager and can speak good English im happy.
  24. Did we boo the team off at half time????
