  1. Well I do realize they maybe are not the best double-pivot pairing but we have to remember that when we were defending to win the Champions League, they were phenomenal and deserve some credit. Yes, we definitely should try some different composition in the central midfield but also let's give them few more chances and see if they don't start to perform better.
  2. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/910509-fenerbahce-in-talks-with-chelsea-over-raul-meireles-transfer "Talks are at an advanced stage and Fenerbahce officials are confident of getting their man, reports Turkish newspaper Vatan. A 'pre-agreement' is said to have been reached between the two clubs, with the only issue still to be decided the exact fee."
  3. It is going to be crucial if Atlético will proceed to the round of 32 in the Europa League. I know it is not very likely, but if they don't, they might sell him.
  4. I'd like to see this line-up: Čech the goalkeeper, nothing to explain. I would probably go with Bertrand as the left-back but because the League Cup game is going to be soon after it, Cole should start. He didn't play that bad against Atlético after all. JT is a must, we did see how we lacked his defence organization skills in the Supercup. David Luiz should be benched, he had very bad game and this is definitely time for Cahill. The same goes with Ivanović, big mistakes, Azpilicueta is here, no reason why he shouldn't be given a chance. We did see that the double-pivot of Lampard and Mikel has not been working lately as we would like to. I think Oscar is the right man to play alongise Mikel. Mikel was one of the few players which against Atlético tried to their best. As much as I'd like to see Oriol on the pitch, it is the same as with Bertrand, Wolves in Capital One Cup is his time to shine. Ramires was the worst player on friday so bench it is. Marin was shining in pre-season and if my memory is correct, RDM said he will be fit after this international break. I know it is a bit of a risk to put two players who have not yet played in the Premier League but I think it's risk woth taking and Mikel is there to put some of their posible mistakes right. Hazard central, Mata on the left wing. Might rotate and replace each other during the game but i prefer Mata left-winged as he has good crosses and Hazard so far seemed as a bigger threat. But this may change now with Mata having his well-desearved break, so we'll see. Sturridge up front, Torres has been given lots of chances, Danny should got some too. I am sure he will covert his chances into goals.
  5. Oh really? What i remember was three good defensive performances (one with a bad goalkeeper error) plus one total failure. Come one people! Stop judging everyone and everything after one really bad, bad performance. RDM as well as the players have a lot of time to think about it and i'm sure next game will not be such horrible.
  6. Still saying no buy in Januray was ever good is stupid. David Luiz was bought in january, Ivanović was bought in january...
  7. May I ask everyone criticizing on here one thing? Would you write the same things about our players before yesterday's game? They had a bad game and this doesn't influence their overall talent. If they continue to perform badly, then I will consider critizing their abilities.
  8. Seriously? I hope you are kidding. He had ONE bad game and some people don't want him to play there anymore. Wake up, open your eyes and start looking at the squad positively. Ivanović is maybe not the very best right back offensively but very, very decent when defending. Don't agree with other ratings as well but it's pointless to write about each one of them. But that about Ivanović was just stupid.
  9. JT with the kit man. They are a bit similiar
  10. We should keep Danny by hook or crook. First, we will massively piss off Liverpool ending up without both Carrol and Sturridge. Second, let's remember Sturridge has eye for goals. Yes you may say he's selfish and can't pass and all that bullshit. But he's a center forward, not a winger. It's like we would've put Drogba on the wing and then moan that he can't play there. He has to be a center forward. And finally, if we would entually sell Sturridge, we will have to bring another attacker. Why? We have exactly what we need in Danny.
  11. Well, he's not really a Champions League winner since he was on loan
  12. Čech Ivanović - Luiz - Cahill - Cole Ramires - Mikel - Lampard Hazard - Torres - Mata I'd like to see us playing 4-3-3 with Mikel as the holding midfielder and Ramires and Lampard frequently pushing forward. Hazard and Mata not really playing on the wings but more behind Torres. I don't think we would lack width with Cole running up and down and Ramires/Ivanović trying to push as well.
  13. Yossi Benayoun ‏@YossiBenayoun15 Morning,I can confirm that I'm in talks with two premier league clubs about a loan move, hope to sort it by tomorrow evening.. + He is not on the team photo.
  14. I meant to say that there would be more or less something like a "story" behind every opponent.
  15. I think the most interesting draw from the off-the-field point of view would be Valencia, Lille/PSG and Celtic.
  16. Hey, wait, you never know . Maybe even if we did concede. We could have a set-piece in the remaining 10 minutes and King Didier (or, you know, maybe Mikel) would smash another goal and we would through to the final. It was written in the stars and nothing could stop us.
  17. Well.... shouldn't Messi and Robben both be guilty?
  18. Braga, Ajax and Nordsjaelland would be ideal. All of them would not be a long trips, also Braga and Ajax are teams we should beat but at the same time not completely easy which could boost our confidence against the tough league opponents. And Nordsjaelland is new to the UCL so they should not make us problems.
  19. It's not really true that Josh and Oscar can not play in the same side imo. Oscar can play either in the center or on the wing and we will probably just see where is Josh's best position. But I think he could be a very, very good deep lying midfielder. So McEachran with another defensive midfielder in the double pivot (if we stay with the 4-2-3-1), and Oscar anywhere in the front 3.
  20. He should stay in Vitesse until he's ready to prove himself in our squad. Another loan might slow his development as he might not get enough time on the pitch as in Holland. He plays there regulary and that is exactly what he needs, not to be on 6 different loans in 2 seasons across England. By the way, from my point of view as a Czech, he could really soon start to play international games for Czech National team but our manager is such a dick because he doesn't call him up for some friendlies and overlooks him even though we don't really have any other solid centre-backs.
  21. Am i the only one who did notice yesterday Ashley called him "Eddie" in the post-match interview?
  22. I've always wondered... Is he staying with us because he loves the club, or because he loves the money? I hope it's the first option.
  23. We should start to rotate a bit, Newcastle is going to be more difficult game, so everybody needs to be fresh. Malouda is still our player and is not THAT BAD as everyone seems to say. I'll go with him on the left side so that Mata can take some rest. -------------Čech------------- Ivan----Cahill-----JT---Cole ------Ramires---Essien----- -Oscar--Hazard--Malouda- ----------Sturridge-----------
  24. Come on, he's 19. He will be stronger in a couple of years.
