What I learned today on TC is that a drawing of a depressed frog is racist. Amazing stuff. Nah I don't. As a right-footed player on the right wing he will mostly play a creator role with crosses and cut-backs, far from his main strengths. If he cuts inside he will be on his weaker foot. If we want to use him for scoring goals, then he must be left or central.

I'm not happy nor distraught, it's a 3rd GK, I don't really care. The same emotions as if we were buying a youngster for our loan army, makes no difference. But at the same time I'm glad that we are using that spot to fill our HG places and allow one more foreigner to the squad, especially with talks of Cahill leaving this makes perfect sense. Not even sure if there are any better HG keepers out there who would take that 3rd spot, can you name any?

What kind of level do we need for 3rd choice keeper to show proper ambition? And how does he contribute or distract our ambitions by playing 0 minutes? And oddly nobody ever complained about that. I'm pretty sure that if we signed a no-name keeper from the Portuguese league who is actually worse, then nobody would care.

As Sarri said result is not important here. But still would like a W to get the feel-good atmosphere going. Is it just me or does it seem pointless to fly all the way to Australia to play one game and then fly back?

I wonder if the fact we've halted stadium rebuilding plans has helped us in the market? Provided the reports are true, then we are out there offering money that we would have never offered in recent windows. The club wouldn't go over 40m for anybody other than a new main striker, thus we were left with scraps here and there. Now out of nowhere we beat City to their primary target and several reliable sources have cited some extraordinary sums (60m+ for a goalie and an ageing striker, 50m for a young unproven CB). Also CL money that we received for last season doesn't hurt. But by the looks of it we are out there flexing our money muscle again. Let's see how it goes, really not much time left...
