  1. Almost as good as Ferreira and Essien
  2. We are in desperate need of midfielders and getting Mikel back soon would be fantastic.
  3. Welcome, I'm Alex. Be sure to join in the prediction league You seemed to have settled well
  4. I think midday is a bit harsh, so you predictions must be in by 7PM GMT at the latest
  5. The Football League has announced that our Carling Cup final date with Tottenham Hotspur on February 24 will be refereed by Mark Halsey. Halsey, from Lancashire, refereed our Community Shield match with Manchester United back in August, as well as our trips to Middlesbrough and Fulham in this season's Premier League. In 26 games this season, he has handed out 62 yellow cards and three red. Halsey will be assisted by Andrew Garratt and Martin Yerby, while the fourth official will be Peter Walton of Northamptonshire. Source: www.chelseafc.com
  6. I said the same when we played them last time
  7. The consistency only occurs when Chelsea are on the pitch.
  8. Everyone expected us to fail when Grant came in. That meant the weight of expectation was no longer on the squad, and with the mentality our players have, we are going about proving our critics wrong.
  9. He is very quiet yes, which is good for keeping us out of the news for wrong reasons. But with Mourinho, it meant that the media focus was on him and not the club, so the players could do their business. Then TSO spat his dummy out when Roman didn't give him any money.
  10. I think a mix of youth and experience wouldn't go too far. Cudicini in goal, backline of Belletti, Alex, Ivanovic, Bridge, midfield of Sinclair, Makelele, Lampard, Joe Cole and di Santo and Anelka up front would be showing them quite a bit of respect in fairness.
  11. Three good games might result in three bad ones *Rigs competition*
  12. A lot of people argue the 4-2 wins against Barcelona and Bayern in 2005 were our greatest European performances. But I disagree. Another result stands out for me from our European history. Arsenal 1 - 2 Chelsea Two days after my birthday, we won against Arsenal. All I said that for my birthday I didn't care what I got, as long as Chelsea won. And Wayne Bridge scored that goal. Made me cry Best day of my life, after so much heartbreak at their hands in the past, this meant a lot.
  13. Quite agree with you, but he is too similar to Joe Cole in my opinion. Plus the fact Joe is a better player.
  14. We are due a 4-0 win, but games against Reading are so incredibly tight it makes me want to be sick. 2-0 seems a comfortable scoreline but they will make it difficult, no doubt.
  15. Spurs away will be very difficult for us, especially if we beat them in the final.
  16. True, but its the FA Cup. I thought the Liverpool-Havant game would show that is isn't at a conclusion already. We are EXPECTED to win and therefore all the pressure is on us. Mourinho made the mistake of playing a weak side against Huddersfield two seasons ago, and he had to throw on Del Horno and Robben to get us the win. Maybe di Santo or Sinclair will get a run out, but I would prefer us to show this team some respect. I think some of the African chaps will be back by then as well, so they would benefit from a game.
  17. If we do end up playing more attacking football from next season, so be it. But I think it it wise not to change our style of play just yet, our 4-3-3/4-5-1 is working brilliantly at the moment.
  18. Whilst Maradona is a legend and all that, the best news I gathered from this is that Shevchenko and Ballack are back in the squad. Good news.
  19. In this day and age, a player of his calibre would cost no fewer than £40 million
