  1. He is an exciting prospect, some cup performances last season indicated he has the ability to make it into our team and perform well.
  2. Spot on. The diving can be considered 'side effects' of being a top striker...
  3. It depends whether Scolari uses wingers or not. He said he will change his tactics to fit in the better players of the team, Joe falls into that category. As to how he will put him in, is to be seen.
  4. If the club are resigned to losing him, we have two options - sell him for £8-10 million this summer and rely on Deco and Ballack to get 20 goals between them, or let him stay one more year and allow him to leave on a free.
  5. And when you take that into consideration, it means we've basically spent on £12 million on both Bosingwa and Deco - that's very good business if you ask me.
  6. If he goes, then it is in his best interest and we can't grudge that. He is a Chelsea legend no matter the outcome of this transfer saga.
  7. I hope Joe finds himself played in a more central role. He is great as a winger but when he is marked by a good fullback, such as Evra, he can become lost on the wing and he often drifts out of games. As a centre midfielder he is much more involved and there is no better sight than seeing him charge at defenders.
  8. I certainly hope so. He's an exciting prospect.
  9. Spot on. The step up to PSV was perhaps to big a gap for him at such a young age, but Twente aren't that great a side and he will hopefully get a lot of playing time this campaign.
  10. Joe Cole isn't thought of in the same way because of his diving, due to the fact he isn't bitching about joining Mourinho every five minutes. I want Didier to stay, but I seriously hope Felipao doesn't stand for his nonsensical diving shit.
  11. Average kit, its unlikely we will be wearing it too often next year anyway. A bit bland, but I like the colour scheme.
  12. One of Paulo and Belletti is bound to be off, because we now have Bosingwa. Pizarro is likely to leave along with Tal Ben Haim and SWP's possible move to Portsmouth would be a brilliant move for him. But what excites me is that Scolari wants to trim the squad to bring though youngsters.
  13. That being said, he did an okay job when he was called into the team. Scored a cracker against Hull as well, his contribution was small yet effective, ultimately.
  14. Former England boss Steve McClaren has made his first signing at FC Twente after agreeing a one-year loan deal for Chelsea centre-back Slobodan Rajkovic. Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7498528.stm
  15. Spot on. Drogba is a massive personality, and Scolari won't stand for it. Didier has but one choice - play, and play well, or rot in the reserves.
  16. I'm just asking as to whether anyone knows if FdS has been promoted to the first team? I believe he has as he has been training with the first team since pre-season began, but this was true of Sam Hutchinson last season as well. Anyone have any news?
  17. There is every possibility that either party makes a comprimise and Frank signs next season. But if he decides to play out his contract, then all respect to him.
  18. I see your point and I respect your opinion, mate. Everyone's worthy of their own two cents. I agree with you that we need another world class striker. Anelka and Sheva can get you possibly 20 goals a season but they're just not as good as Drogba to warrant a selection in the starting eleven. Eto'o is a player I'd love to see at the Bridge but what puts me off him is that he is African - another player to lose in the Cup of Nations. That being said, him and Drogba upfront would be the greatest strike force in Europe...
  19. He's going there with no pressure on his shoulders, unlike when he came to the Blues. He's a better player than Barry in my opinion, certainly more consistent anyway. Best of luck to him.
  20. I think Frank will play out his contract and join Inter on a free next summer, to be honest. I'd have no grudges if he did.
  21. A site they'll definitely show the goals on is 101goals.com. Very good website, all the latest goals are posted within 3 or 4 hours, mostly.
  22. Yep. The reason he hasn't played for us yet is because his season had been over for two months by the time we had signed him! He was lacking match fitness and we had Alex in the squad, anyway. Hope to see BI2 in action soon though.
  23. Barry is worth nowhere near £17 million. £10 million would be pushing it, but if Lampard only warrants a £8 million bid from Inter, I'd say Barry would be worth about a tenner. Such a difference in class. But anyway, good luck to Steve. Gutted it didn't work out for him, but its an excellent bit of business which benefits Chelsea financially and the player also. Good luck to him at Villa.
  24. You don't get what people see in him? I'll recommend you a good optician in Nottingham if you're interested. Drogba is one of the best strikers in the world. Unfortunately he also has a habit of diving. I'm not defending his antics because I dislike them also, but Chelsea with Didier Drogba is a Chelsea stronger than Chelsea without Didier Drogba.
