3-3 at Ewood Park 2-1 to Manchester City 2-2 against APOEL Nicsia 2-2 at home to Everton? NINE goals conceded in four, when we'd let in the same amount in TWENTY ONE?!
-
I'm getting really annoyed by our inability to defend set pieces! Absolutely pissed over Everton for the whole half and yet its 2-2? Plus the fact Yakubu scored in the fifth of three added minutes...
-
Personally I think he's been awful for the last five or six matches. He'd been playing relatively well through October and November, but I think he's been poor recently; especially against Man City and Blackburn. He seems to have lost his confidence. Plus I feel Joe Cole adds more invention to the team than Deco does and we seem to have more balance to the side with Joe rather than Deco.
-
No Deco? We're bound to win by at least three then

Chelsea FC vs Portsmouth Wed 16 Dec 09, FAPL, Stamford Bridge, 1945 KO Chelsea host Portsmouth as they look to return to winning ways in the Premier League. The Blues have stuttered in December so far, losing at Blackburn and Man City whilst drawing with Cypriot minnows APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League. A Premier League double-header against Everton and Avram Grant's Portsmouth follows, with the Blues looking to maintain their two point lead over champions Manchester United. Match chat here!

Joe Cole was brilliant. I'm not at all worried by the result; we'd already qualified and we've come through the group stages unscathed. Fairest result was the draw; we were wasteful, yes, but APOEL played well. Credit to their fans as well, they outsung us bar the period we equalised and went 2-1 up.

Chelsea FC vs Everton 12 Dec 09, FAPL, Stamford Bridge, 1500 KO Chelsea host Everton in a crucial Premier League clash. The Blues drew both Premier League fixtures against the Toffees last season, recording 0-0 draws both home and away, though under Guus Hiddink's management, Saturday's hosts won the FA Cup final 2-1 against this opposition. Can the Blues record a first league win over Everton since April 2008? Match chat here!

Anything less than 3-0 is unacceptable tbh. The difference in class between City and APOEL is massive, and we've got a big game against Everton on Saturday so we need to win.

There's even an article in the Sun about this now. It could actually be some kind of psychological thing I say we wear our white kit at Wet Spam, I couldn't bare it if we lost to them
-
Neither are allowed but its in the past now. There aren't any excuses, we've lost, let's get over it. From the fact he scored 23 penalties in a row without missing one means he was due to miss one. We're still two points clear, its not as if we're chasing United at the minute. It might come back to bite us on the arse but I guarantee the next penalty we get, Lampard will bury it.

You're most welcome. Welcome to the forum by the way.

Things are working fine at this end, Jim. Well done mate

Me and the old man park at Chelsea Cloisters in SW3. There's a big underground car park there, its secure and the guys who run it are big Chelsea fans. They let us park there for £15 for the day providing we get them a programme, which is a far enough deal About a fifteen minute walk to the stadium, straight down the Fulham Road. The car park itself is off Sloane Avenue.
-
Wet Spam, no way we'll lose to them. Carlo won't allow it.
-
That quote about passing to Mikel is fucking brilliant
-
The thing is, I can. Gourlay needs to wake up. If the club let Cole leave the fans will take a bloody long time to get over it and forgive them.
-
If we had had the start Liverpool have had then yes I'd agree with you. But we're in the last sixteen of the Champions League and top of the table. Get real.
-
All I will say to APOEL and Everton is; 'beware the backlash.'
-
Shockingly bad performance from Webb but we weren't exactly brilliant either.

Saturday 5th December 2009, the FA Premier League, the City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester Carlos Tevez' second half freekick sealed a famous victory for Manchester City over Premier League leaders Chelsea. The Argentine forward curled home beyond Petr Cech after Ricardo Carvalho had been wrongfully adjudged to have fouled the former Manchester United star whilst challenging for the ball. City's Emmanuel Adebayor had given Chelsea the lead after Nicolas Anelka's shot was parried onto the Togo striker's back, but the ex-Arsenal striker responded by prodding home an equaliser for Mark Hughes' side. Frank Lampard had the opportunity to draw Chelsea level but saw his penalty saved by Given to complete a torrid few days in the North that has seen the Blues dumped out of the Carling Cup and their lead cut to two points thanks to Manchester United's thrashing of West Ham. City, who had equalled the longest run of consecutive draws with their 1-1 stalemate against Hull the previous weekend, move to fifth in the table. Nicolas Anelka, Lampard, John Terry and Petr Cech were amongst the changes as Carlo Ancelotti shuffled his pack for a crucial encounter at Eastlands. City were without Craig Bellamy and Stephen Ireland, and went behind in the eighth minute through unfortunate circumstances. A bright start by the visitors saw Drogba's effort saved by Given after Deco's clever flick saw the Ivorian break through, but Chelsea were not forced to wait long to open their account. Branislav Ivanovic and Anelka saw efforts saved by Given, but the latter strike bounced in off Adebayor's back to give the Blues the lead. Chelsea were moving the ball around well on the slick surface, but City responded well and but for a Ricardo Carvalho clearance off the line, would have drawn level when Cech flapped at a cross. City were bombarding the penalty area with crosses and the anxious-looking Chelsea goalkeeper looked less than convincing on a number of occasions. Adebayor shot narrowly wide and Essien deflected a long range strike from Gareth Barry over the bar. Adebayor then controversially equalised as Shaun Wright-Phillip's shot hit Micah Richards' hand before dropping to the Togo striker. City - nor referee Howard Webb - minded, and the goal was awarded, much to the visitors' dismay. Before the half was done, Drogba sent a freekick inches wide with Given comprehensively beaten, but it was through a similar opportunity for Carlos Tevez that the hosts took the lead early in the second half. Moments after Ivanovic had saved his goalkeeper's blushes once again, Tevez fired home from the edge of the area to give City a second goal that, in fairness, their performance had warranted. Chelsea were furious - the freekick was given for an apparent foul by Carvalho though replays suggested the Portuguese won the ball. Juliano Belletti and John Mikel Obi soon came on as Chelsea switched to a more attacking system with Lampard pushing forward as a second attacking midfielder. They were soon again in their grove and Deco's freekick was headed just wide by Ivanovic, before Drogba failed to connect with the ball properly under pressure from Kolo Touré and headed the wrong side of the post. Chelsea were handed a lifeline with a penalty decision after Drogba was tripped by substitute Onuoha, but Given sent the home support into raptures as Lampard's weak spot-kick was well saved by the Irishman. Drogba then poked wide after Essien's incisive pass had found him well-placed, before captain John Terry limped off injured to complete a poor evening for Ancelotti's men. Chelsea have two home games against APOEL and Everton as they look to bounce back. Beware the backlash. ___________________________________________________________________ Man City (4-4-2): Given; Richards (Onuoha 68), Touré ©, Lescott, Bridge (Kompany 75); Wright-Phillips, De Jong, Barry, Robinho (Zabaleta 90); Tevez, Adebayor. Well that's a kick up the arse. We certainly didn't deserve to lose today, but we did. However, the way we responded after losing to Villa in October, I can certainly see is returning to winning ways with a brace of victories over the course of the coming week. Keep the faith - its a hard one to swallow but we're still top of the league

Chelsea FC vs APOEL Nicosia Tuesday 08 December 2009, UEFA Champions League, Stamford Bridge, 7.45PM kick-off Chelsea host APOEL Nicosia in their final Champions League group stage fixture. Thanks to Nicolas Anelka's goal in Cyprus, the Blues emerged 1-0 victors to continue their 100% start to the European season. A 4-0 demolition and 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid, and then a 1-0 win away in Porto ensured Chelsea's qualification as winners of Group D. Carlo Ancelotti is likely to rest some key names having already qualified and with Everton arriving in West London the following Saturday, so it is an opportunity for the likes of Fabio Borini, Gael Kakuta and company to impress the manager heading into the Christmas period. Chelsea have been imperious in Europe this season; unbeaten in five matches and having recorded four clean sheets. Sergio Aguero's two goals are the only ones Petr Cech has conceded in the competition, whilst Nicolas Anelka has scored three of Chelsea's nine goals thus far. APOEL are on a very good run, and are unbeaten in eleven matches in the Cypriot league. Chelsea are scoring for fun, however, and with Ancelotti possibly resting a number of key players, it could be a very interesting encounter. Can the Blues continue an unbeaten streak in Europe lasting thirteen months? Match chat here!
