  1. I'm not putting forward an argument, I'm putting forward an opinion. Hazard doesn't convince me; I do not need to quantitate that statement or evidence it, it is merely my opinion. Yet I do find it somewhat ironic that you don't find my purported "argument" convincing when you make sweeping statements such as "the most judgemental remark I've ever read by a football fan". That doesn't quite add up. What I would like to know is how my making of a statement constitutes a "judgemental remark" when you are the one who has engaged in a slippery slope of reasoning and interpretted it in the most hyperbolic fashion imaginable? Fair enough if I said he was shit - I said he isn't world class. The term world class is subjectively quantifiable; to my mind, world class is Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi. Hazard is not in that category, and most likely never will be. I would posit that your incorrect assumptive attitude is more akin to "the most judgemental remark I've ever read by a football fan, let alone a Chelsea fan". However, to now give you the argument you are after: I do not think Hazard is world class. I don't believe his statistics indicate that he is world class, nor do I think his performances could justify such a statement. When he is on fire, he is brilliant. Alas, he isn't on fire even half as much as most Chelsea fans would like to think. His lack of consistency is what defines him as being that next rung down on the ladder from being world class. Please note that I did not once even infer he is a poor player, though you have chosen to interpret my comments in such a fashion. This notwithstanding, this is an internet forum and I don't really care if you neither like nor accept my opinion. Good day to you.
  2. Oh look, the Net Spend Brigade is here. Doesn't matter about net expenditure, we've still spunked ridiculous money out on bang average players.
  3. Haha of course, you get called plastic unless you kiss Hazard's ass nowadays.
  4. I never said he's mediocre. Another typical Chelsea fan who is blinded by the odd backheel. I said he isn't world class - there's a difference. Certainly not anywhere close to the levels of Ronaldo and Messi.
  5. Would happily put money on him walking/getting sacked by the end of the season.
  6. Ill-fated last night. Doesn't take anything away from him as a player. I remember when we played Bayern back in 2005, Lucio scored an own goal and then caused a deflection to go in from a tame Joe Cole shot. Sometimes things just go against a player.
  7. You can't blame him. How can you be a top manager at a top club when the club won't back your judgement in the transfer market, and instead identify their own targets and force you to work with them? He'll be gone, and Ancelotti will come back as Roman's yes-man, win us a PL title but fail to do anything in Europe, and then Hiddink will come back for round 3.
  8. I know Michy was piss when he came on, but I'm not sure what he did wrong against Brighton to not deserve to start yesterday? Everyone knows we're shit with a false 9 unless we're playing Bournemouth.
  9. It appears more and more of you have bought into the Hazard Myth. It looks like you're happy with little 5-minute cameos here and there. He is not world class, in my eyes. I'd go as far as saying he was our worst attacking player yesterday. The amount of times he lost possession was hilarious!
  10. Haters gonna hate, it appears... if the nay-sayers reckon he was poor, how do you rate The Invisible Man himself, Hazard, who thought another 5-minute cameo followed by 85 minutes of selfish play and under-hit passes would suffice?
  11. If he was going to come, having watched our performance tonight, he sure won't want to now.
  12. Outstanding tonight. The only one who showed any sort of effort.
  13. Yes, because he got it wrong tonight on many, many levels. And this is coming from a big supporter of his.
  14. And some of you think we can beat Barcelona - we can't do better than draw against the worst Arsenal side since the early 1990s. No guts, no passion, no effort or fire in any one of those mercenaries. Bakayoko outstanding, the rest were horrendous. I have to question the manager's substitutions, and I also have to question the mentality of a team that though this semi-final was won after 6 minutes. Utterly shite.
  15. As far as I'm concerned, his ridiculous decision to bring on Barkley cost us the game. Unfair to throw Ross on, who looked incredibly short of match sharpness.
  16. The difference was that, even then, we had Drogba and Lampard. Now we have Morata and Bakayoko (LOOOL)
  17. I am glum, but with good reason. There is probably a 1 in 20 (at best) chance we'll beat Barcelona. I'm just a realist, this squad of ours is probably the weakest it has ever been in the Roman era. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I just can't see it.
