Completely irrational as well. We don't have anything even close to 'player power' in the team. In case anyone hasn't noticed, Jose has basically been running the squad like a dictatorship. Just ask Eva & Fearn or Lukaku or KDB about it. That's what he does. He's the military commander and he leads the troops to war. The obvious difference between now and under AVB is that (some of) the players back then consciously and purposefully didn't want to give 100% for the team because they wanted the manager gone for their own sake at the expense of the best interest of the club. That is very obviously not the case now. No one is intentionally not giving 100%. We don't have power cliques in the team. We don't even have players with that type of personality. Practically everyone in the squad is a Mourinho man. Continuing about that article, yes a player should be held accountable for his failures. But when an entire team is under-performing so badly and with no obvious ulterior motives, you have to look at exterior factors. You have to look at the management. Yes, Jose is the most successful and decorated manager in the past decade, but that is irrelevant here. The question that should be asked is where does the best interest of the club lie? Will the sacking of Jose Mourinho improve the team and get us better results? Can another manager do better than he is doing?

Absolutely no idea how you got from that I'm putting all on the manager. Confidence and mental readiness are incredibly complex things. We can all have theories why they seem to be low with the team right now but watching us play I don't think anyone can argue that those two factors are not obviously lacking. When Matic on several occasions can't make simple 10 yard passes, or when Hazard hesitates every time he gets into the final third to give just two examples those are not down to lack of individual quality but mental solidness. Jose is a great motivator, you can argue even the best, but his 'Us vs The world" technique has never been tested long term and we could well be seeing the down side of it. In terms of confidence, none of those players have ever experienced a run like this, it's only normal that their confidence is so obviously down. The mood around the club also plays a huge role. The issues with Eva, Costa...etc. are certainly not having a positive impact. You've also left our physical readiness, which Jose himself admitted that he knew would be way behind everyone else's because of the late and terrible preseason we had. But we still went ahead with it anyway. So yes, there are obviously a lot of people responsible for the various factors that are causing this shambles. It's incredible simplistic to attribute to the lack of one or two signings.

Yeah, we'd probably be all the way up in 11th had we gotten them! I'm sorry, but I despise this nonsensical mentality. Individual quality is obviously a factor but our problems run A LOT deeper. If it were solely on individual quality then how in the world are we in 16th when we have better individual quality than every team in the EPL apart from 2 or 3?! This is basically the same XI that walked the league last season!! Oversimplifying the issues to one or two buys is running away from the real problems in my eyes. We have to realize that confidence, motivation, mentality, tactics, physical readiness...etc. have all been equally important if not more so than one or two signings.

We can't just assume that all of the failings in the transfer market were all the board's fault and have nothing to do with Jose. For example, he made it VERY clear that the Falcao signing was his idea and desire. He also never even hinted that he was looking for a top fullback who can come into the starting XI. He said from the start that Baba would fill the Luis role, i.e. a rotation option for cups and ULC group matches. On any account, regardless of the transfer business, the current squad with all the quality we have should never be in the position that we are in regardless of form.

Yes, all the criticism in this thread is valid, BUT Gary Cahill played a pass with his arse, so it's all good!
-
Actually that was same for Luis last season. When I said that that is the main reason why he doesn't shift Azpi to the right and play Luis last year people didn't take me seriously. But that IS how Jose genuinely thinks. No matter how silly it seems.

I'm genuinely surprised by how some don't seem to realize how bad the situation really is. This is by far worse than any of the 'bad runs' by any of our previous managers. It's our worst start to a season in 35 years! That's not just some statistic. Think about it for a second! I have never seen any a top team start a season this badly. Closest to it maybe Tottenham or Liverpool under Hodgeson. We are in genuine trouble here. Even if we magically regain our form and start wining matches which there has been zero signs for, it would still be till at least December or January till we even start competing for top 4 again. If we continue with this current terrible form for another month or so it would probably be too late to get 4th place even if we regain top form afterwards. Hence why the couple of weeks after the international break are crucial, imo.

Definitely improves us. If we still had him...we'd probably be in 13th!
-
The question about Jose's future with the club is not that of sentiment or loyalty. It's a single question: Do you believe he can get us to beat all of Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, Southampton...etc. to fourth place? That is really all that matters in the league right now. Because not making the UCL would be a disaster for a club like us.
-
I don't think "Pass" is an option really when a journo is asking him a question
-
What do people expect Terry to say? Does anyone really think he's gonna come out and say "Yeah, he's completely lost the dressing room, and it's obvious he can't get us out of this mess. The earlier he leaves the better." His words to the press mean very little about what the mood is in the dressing room.
-
Problem is, that works with the assumption that he can. Nothing in the past 9 months indicates that and it's becoming more and more unlikely with each passing match.
-
Yes, but mainly because she looks like Susan Boyle in this universe...
-
Said he can't pass a ball. Also said he's one of the players who are really in trouble. Reporter also said that during the time he was on Jose was screaming at him on several occasions.
-
I think probably for the first time in his career he's failed. We've on the decline for 9 months and he's failed to come up with an answer.
-
Still blaming the ref and 'some' players who he won't name except for Matic who apparently "can't pass a ball". He's done here.
-
Can't see how anyone can have an argument anymore. It's very clear that he needs to go. It's not knee-jerk reaction. He obviously has nothing more to offer the team.
-
I wasn't praising him per say. Again, I didn't say he was good or effective. I said he put in the effort. 'Effort' doesn't take football skills. I don't know how else you can define it as it literally means to work hard. HOW do you cover 11.4 K m while being lazy? Literally to cover 11.4Km during 90 minutes means his average speed was 2.11 meters per second; that's without taking into consideration the time he is not running during the match. And you're seriously suggesting that he covered all that just by jogging??!!! And not just suggesting, but declaring in any incredibly shitty condescending and provocative attitude. But I guess after all ignorance is a prerequisite for such condescension.
-
Did you even read the post you originally quoted? I was talking about mobility because that is what I think was our biggest issue against Porto: And you can't someone didn't put in the effort when he covered the most distance regardless of tackles and passes. I didn't say he was fantastic, I didn't say he was effective. I said he put in the effort and the most effort any player can make is through constant running and covering of distance.
-
Seems pretty obvious, doesn't it? Doesn't make him a sexist in my book, just makes that one statement he said sexist.
-
That's a stupid way to put it, especially that I was talking in particular about MOBILITY.
-
That made me laugh for some reason!

I know it's not just Asmir but I've heard on a couple of occasions managers saying that is ultimately the keeper's call. For example, Petr always had 2 players on the posts why Thibaut didn't have any even at Atletico.
