Wenger Hits Back At Chelsea Terry
TrueChelseaBlue replied to TrueChelseaBlue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
IMO Arsene Wengers a wanker who can only see things one-sided.. stupid prick -
tribalfooball.com - December 21, 2007 Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hit back at Chelsea captain John Terry over his claims that Emmanuel Eboue should have been sent off on Sunday. Terry said of Eboue's tackle: "I felt he left his studs in there and it should have been a sending-off. I thought straight away I'd broken something." But Wenger is adamant that Terry should already have been sent off himself following his wild lunge on Cesc Fabregas. Wenger said: "I don't think he (Eboue) wanted to 'do' John Terry. He has touched him and I am really sorry that John Terry is injured but I think Terry should have been off already for that tackle (on Fabregas)."

Michael Ballack has rejected suggestions he was unhappy with his treatment from Chelsea's medical team. The midfielder, who returned to first-team action against Liverpool in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night for the first time in eight months, insists he is grateful for all the club's efforts to get him back to fitness. The Germany captain was quoted as saying he had been dismayed by the treatment he received from Chelsea as he struggled to recover from two ankle operations. Now Ballack has made it clear he wants to repay the club's medical team for all their hard work over the last eight months. He said: "I was surprised and disappointed when I read the words I was supposed to have said. "The Chelsea medical department has made its best possible efforts. I am very grateful for the work that everyone has done - in particular the physios - over the last couple of months in order to get me finally back on the field. "Now I am ready to repay all their hard work by doing my best for Chelsea. "I would also like to thank the fans for their support and patience - it has meant a great deal to me."

Chelsea boss Avram Grant has finally admitted what fans have suspected for a long time: when it comes to transfers, owner Roman Abramovich has the final say. Ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window, Chelsea manager Avram Grant has spoken about how arrivals and departures are agreed upon at Stamford Bridge. The Russian has always been viewed as a very 'hands-on' owner, and it was his interference in the day-to-day running of the club that allegedly caused friction between Jose Mourinho and the board. Grant, however, stressed he and Abramovich work well together. "I have a good relationship with the owner and we speak regularly," Grant told The Times. "I need to do my job and he knows that. If I want a player, as a manager there will be a discussion about it. We talk about everything." But any new arrival must get Abramovich's approval first. "I'm looking first for the right players and then we will discuss whether that player is the right one for the owner," said the Israeli.

The 17 year-old has only just agreed terms on a new contract with Corinthians, but he remains keen to move to Chelsea. Tribalfootball/Express

Chelsea's injury woes continued last night after their Carling Cup victory over Liverpool. Goal scorer Andriy Shevchenko left the field with a swollen ankle and coach Avram Grant also revealed a setback for winger Florent Malouda. Malouda was pencilled in for the game against Liverpool but could be out for a few more weeks as he bids to recover from a persistent knee problem.
