All I can say about this transfer: It's a fecking disgrace.

How can you compare Lampard and Tuchel domestically if we get , for instance, bad results in the first 10 games because our attacking players needed time to improve drastically and hit the ground running. Seriously, United will be better this season compared to the last, Sancho, Varane will improve them. Sancho maybe won't be scoring for fun, but for sure he will have somebody to assist to. Liverpool will be better than they were previous season, everybody and his dog understand this. They were very unlucky, but just look at their last results in the League. City is City. They certainly won't be worst. Leicester improved their team and so did Arsenal. Everybody improved. It won't be the same league as it was the year before. Meanwhile Tuchel's main striker is goals disallowed champion who doesn't understand offside rule and can't hit the net to save his life, still our most productive player (in creating goal opportunities and assisting). Broja, our genie in the boottle scored 10 goals in poor Dutch league and missed a lot more clear chances. Sorry, Lampard had better situation domestically. I predict the fourth place on the very last day followed by major bottling job from Leicester and Arsenal. Maybe a cup or two but I'm not too confident against Villarreal.

They all catched Werneritis.

This Kounde looks better than everyone we signed in 2017. Way better. He is ball playing CB, albeit short one. Question remains how good he will preform in PL. Means something if Pep wanted him. What worries me is that pursuing this fella means we will continue with back five. Our attacking talents need to improve massively, like: Havertz from 4 to around 20 Timo from 6 to around 18 Mount from 4 - around 15 Pulisic from 4 to around 12 Ziyech from 2 to around 10 and we will be fine. Striker. Even if we get one, I will believe when he starts scoring goals.
-
And our last three defeats were against Arsenal, Villa and Leicester. Our next big game is against Villareal. "Small", low block team. How confident we are we will finally get that Super cup? Last year we spent 200 millions on attacking players and neither one of them, yet, have capacity to make something against low block teams who defend. For that kind of money we should have got at least one outstanding attacking player. Time will tell if we have . So far, it doesn't look like that. Average to very bad transfer windows from 2017 to 2021. WE do not have sellable players among redundant and it is how it is. It will reflect on this league season. If only we could get that Super cup and Club world cup. That would mean a lot.
-
Our disastrous transfer policy since 2017 will cost us dearly. We are still paying the price. It turned us in the cup team who is constantly fighting for the fourth place in the league. Too many average players on the big salaries. The problem will be if our board don't recognize this and expect title from Tuchel. They really shouldn't. Even secured fourth place till late March.
-
I said it before. In our last 4 games of the season, bar CL Final, we lost 3 times and won once. I get we had an eye on the final, but even when we played the other final? What makes anyone to think we will get good results with the first 10 games, have you seen our fixtures list, when we won only 25% of our last four games? With the same players? We are in the very bad position here. If Klopp get his striker right we are officially battling Spurs and Liecester for the top four and we may as well lose Tuchel till December. I'm not convinced Haland is the only answer here. We also need more players in the attack since none of them have capacity to make something on their own.
-
Forth place trophy it is. We took the baton from Arsenal in the League. Haaland is out the reach but we do not have the players to score against low blocks or kill the game when they indeed score. We rely too much on high pressing to save 1: 0 result, it was doable for 5 months under Tuchel, but will it be for 10 months and 5 competitions? I'm afraid not. Having in mind age and injury records of our midfielders and defenders. Who can be our reliable and constant goalscorer? Who will stand up? We rely mainly on Havertz to save us, Timo will create chances but won't finish them to save his life. Even like that, he is still key figure in almost all of our goals. Maybe Pulisic but not from the right. Mount, from him I expect to improve his passing first and goals later. He would need to improve drastically, have Havertz on fire to make such an impact. Second place to City was to certain extent because of new manager bounce, new manager in the league, high pressing. Last four games in the last season prior to CL final are maybe better indicator how the first 10 games will be if somebody doesn't really stand up.
-
Those who think we are fine with this attacking options are deluded. Simple as. Like they never saw our coach sacked 6 months after wining big trophy. The history will repeat itself, it seems
-
Must win game. Europa league is the top priority for this team. Probably the only chance of CL any time soon with those money wasting talents within this club.
-
That top scorers list means nothing to me. Players around him ( except Benteke) played for big clubs against proper defences. They can't be compared to Lukaku. Just because we aren't able to get a decent striker doesn't make Lukaku great. Because he isn't.
-
It's about time they rename Champions League to La Liga II with europian friendlies. If there wasn't for money it would be such a waste of time for other clubs. It will be won by Madrid or Barcelona in years to come. Other clubs will win it every five or seven yeras. Every football wonderkid will go there which will further prolong their dominance. Ronaldo will go eventually but Mbpape is on his way. Modrić and Croos will be replaced in the same fashion.
-
They didn't. Somehow I knew they wont. But maybe even our stars knew we need to improve big time so they didn't want to make this team look better than they really are. In the end they all want to fight for Cl not FA cup next season.
-
The defeat is blessing in a way, because if we had won the double, the board might feel complacent and not see the need to sign as many quality players as this defeat has shown. We need early signings and be ready for what i feel will be a very difficult next season...... 6 teams will be fighting again for 4 spots and there will be very strong teams in the Champions league. With this team as it is, we maybe wouldn't even go trough the group stage. And I'm being serious. Make no mistake, not playing in Europa played it's role in our winning title this year, but next year it can help Arsenal if they ditch Europa league, and the season after it can help to any club that finish sixth from top six clubs. I can't explain it, but we were successful during period when average group of players won the League. It won't be possible for a long because Mou and Pep will buy good teams eventually. We need to strengthen really bad and if anything convinced this board, it was this loss. Arsenal changed our fate with defeating us already, they will do that again.

I just hope he wont blame Conte or club for collapsing of his China cash cow. That's my biggest issue with him nowdays and why I believe he may become a passenger. I still rather want him to stay and Matic and Moses out, from starting eleven at least. And an upgrade for Willian and Pedro and another CB. Pennyworth, I know.
-
We should have sold him in January. Now he is turning into passenger we can't cash in. I sincerely hope he will be shifted out as soon as possible even if I struggle to think of a decent replacement. But until than even Batz will do.
-
Saw this coming. Had bad feeling that Arsenal would win since everything was against them. They showed grit and determination we are lacking. This Costa situation is awful. Passenger we cant cash in. I'm positive we would do better if Fabregas and Batman had started.
-
It's strange how almost everything goes in our favor : their available CB trio, their goalkeeper, bad atmosphere around the club after missing out on traditional and needed top four trophy, discontent with Wenger . But it's what is somewhat scary: they are heavy underdogs and London derbies as well as cup finals often favor heavy underdogs. I still believe in this team, but they have to come out with maximum of fight, concentration and hunger.

Never have been less excited about transfers as this summer. I'm pretty positive we will spend about 200 mil ( Only from this year transfer income and just a little bit from tv rights) but how many players we can get for 200 mil? Max two decent , not guaranteed great players and some pocket change? Hardly enough to improve our lack of depth and to replace every player that has left. And to think one of those special players could well be Lukaku, goalscorer yes, but world class - far from. I'm afraid that Europe will disclose his shortcomings. If he comes I really really hope that Sanchez loves London and isn't interested in learning German language. He is the cheapest decent winger we can get. I reckon Hazard wont go. With those two, I could be happy with Lukaku.
-
I like the rule too, but it could make EPL even less attractive for some foreign players. Like it matters, the best ones end up at Real or Barca anyway.
-
If our aim is to compete only for PL, then it would be alright signing. But with him leading the attack, our chances of getting at least CL semifinal decrease dramatically. Never liked him and anything he's done at Everton didn't convince me at all. I just hope it's Conte's demand.
-
Never liked him, probably our most frustrating player . But he is not our biggest problem. Those who are making decisions on our transfers are.
-
He inherited decent team from Rafa. Not great one, it lacked DM , CM, winger( KDB?) and a STRIKER. That was a team which under impossible circumstances won CL. Those players (young ones) were winners in the making. They won two Europe cups in two years ( Even EL is tough cookie this days - whould you bet on Arsenal winning it?) and were average in PL because of non existent striker. He needed to upgrade that team, but instead he dismantled it. If he had to sell before buy, he should have sold Oscar not Mata. Nevertheless, he dismantled that team and created vulnerable atmosphere that was sustainable while we were 'improving' or winning but it was bound to crash as soon as things turn sour. He won the league and the cup, but in the long run his reign will do us more harm than good. I realised that in the begging of 2014 and I wasn't the only one. Not because he sold Mata, but because he said that Oscar is his number 10, and a player to build the team around. (And stopped playing him in the important games soon enough). Now, can this team he built, way better than the one he inherited win the Europa League again and get us that CL spot?

When looking for a culprit Jose needs to take a good look in the mirror. It was his rash sales, biased favoring, weird tactics, alienating players, no rotation that made our squad what it is now. Jose is now facing consequences of team selections based on reputation and past accomplishments rather than current form and meritocracy. When players can be certain that no matter how they perform they will play in the next important game complacency sets in as we are seeing. The opposite also applies when squad players giving 100% only to come to a realization that no matter how hard they try, how well they play they cannot displace underperforming untouchables they lose interest, focus and they start thinking of their way out. When I'm at it, how pointless most of his transfers have been? I'm not sure board gave him awfull lot of money, but he got enough funds to play decent football and keep us in the top four. That's consistency, isn't it? That stellar pressing football team used to play during good times demands two things: big squad and rotation. Former have been sistematically ruined later virtually non exsistent. And now the reilable first 11 from last year quite often look like shadows of their former selves. But than again I may be a Chelsea hater cause I refused to see last season wins and trophies as a justification for mediocre football, unimaginative tactics and everything mentioned above.

Most players who did similar antics are offenders. Let's call them that way. Costa is re-offender. Who does it game after game. Week after week. And gets away with it more than not. Like Suarez did. Most players aren't as constant at their antics and that's why they get away with it.
