The one positive from the CL final, was that Onana looked solid. And also looked like one of the few Inter players who looked to push the team forward, and from the GK position no less. Even got into a tussle with Haaland which is saying something. Wouldn't be a bad signing if we went in for him, IMO. At least based on that showing.
-
He was just so....lazy after coming on as a sub His first ever CL final (I think?)...and he didn't even bother to press. And then he goes and blocks a certain goal.
-
Bit worried that Inter won't come in for him after this disaster of a final. Who else will take him? The only hope is that he doesn't want to stick at Chelsea either.
-
Another shoddy season for us like this one, you can bet they will come in for James.
-
I just hope the law of averages catches up with them eventually., and they come off their peak. But with factory of readymade replacements for outgoing or ageing star players means their squad is always replenished. Yeah, I think as long as Pep is there, they will create havoc for everyone else in the league. Unless he loses interest and fucks off, or City get charged (unlikely), it's going to be a long, agonizing wait.
-
Well and truly hope someone knocks them off their perch next season., even if it's a club from the red brigade. It will be an absolute sham if they win either another PL or CL trophy next year. Right now they could easily do both.
-
City winning a garbage final because the opposition was just so poor. I'm just glad Chelsea at least has one more CL trophy.
-
Fuck off. Absolute garbage season with a Man shitty ending.
-
Watch Boehly give 'Champions league finalist' Lukaku another chance instead of spending time scouting a striker.
-
Exactly my point. I can't believe how anyone can be thrilled with this. I think most of the fanbase has just become numb after the entire past season. To sum it up., we've dropped several places in the league, we downgraded on managers (at least until Poch was appointed), and now we're offloading the players that helped us be a top 4 side and at least compete for cup competitions. Chelsea needed some treatment, but we're going for a full surgery with no guarantee on returns. A lot of hopes are being pinned on Pochettino and a select few good signings like Enzo.

And what's with Brighton and their annoying bids for Colwill. The seagulls collectively ruined our last season by giving us Cucurella & Potter whilst fleecing us for a ton of cash. Now they want to get our talented youth prospects for cheap.
-
It's not just stupidity, it's pure laziness. They are simply looking at the easiest options to sell. While leaving Poch with a squad that has Cucurella, Sterling, Koulibaly and Gallagher. They finally appoint a manager that could make use of so many options, and they are on the verge of leaving him with little to work with
-
How can he have the perfect comeback if he is our for 6 months
-
Watch us become stuck with the worst of that triangle going into next season. Starting every game with his baby giraffe-like touch.
-
The only annoying thing about going for Caicedo is that Brighton WILL bring Colwill into the discussions. Wish there were other alternatives out there.
-
I guess so,..it's just that it's not pub teams that are coming in for them. Like Madrid and to a lesser extent, United. I know United has bought duds from us in the recent past, but back then we had guaranteed better replacement options performing for the club (esp. in the case of Mata with Hazard., and Matic with Kante)
-
I might be 100% wrong, but I'd still like to see Havertz and Mount given a chance to develop under another proper coach and system before we toss them out. The only proper coach they've had is Tuchel, who has failed to get the most out of all his attacking players.
-
That's the bit that annoys me. The club is just looking at the easiest and quickest options to make cash. That sort of thinking is exactly what got us into the managerial mess of last season. If these fools don't have ready replacements lined up, they would have pulled the rug out from Poch's feet before he even starts.
-
A bit worried that we still don't have any solid links to a striker or any sort of goal scoring central attacker (besides Nkunku) IMO, transfer departures should wait until Poch comes in and does his own assessment of the squad. Else would just be the Boehly and Eghbali show all over again. But transfer arrivals can happen before he comes in. Maybe we're in this situation all because of FFP, but it's still a crappy situation to be in.
-
Even if we need to sell players, I hope the club holds firm and moves them on only after it's certain that we are getting adequate replacements. Don't want a situation where Pochettino gets screwed over due to lack of depth in midfield.
-
I'm assuming you mean we've upgraded with Enzo, which is fair, but bear in mind, we've already lost Jorginho, so we still need another CM. But who did we upgrade on Mount with? Would that be Nkunku?
-
Chelsea social media team had been embarrassing for a long while now. Gives me vibes of a frat house social media account trying to throw cheap shots at a rival
-
Come on Lukaku. Stick one in the City net.
-
You are absolutely right. Maybe Mount and Kovacic are past their sell by date, but the fact is we are being forced to sell former first team members to rival clubs because we are in a tough spot You can't paint a pretty picture out of this, because I've seen Arsenal do exactly that in the past decade and they've suffered for years because of that. People can remain optimistic, and of course I am optimistic about having a real manager for once, but don't be surprised if Kovacic and Mount are soon followed by James and Colwill out the door a year later. It's a very pathetic state of affairs. It's all good if Kovavcic and Mount were actually outperformed by their replacements. But no. We are shite and being made to pay for it.
-
That's fair - I'm just hoping we get better signings. Enzo is the one true signing that has hit all the top marks., only because of his sheer quality
