Gusto may have been mediocre for months now, but still a better option than Chalobah at RB. Maresca saving James for the crucial fixture midweek.

Looking at Madueke and Fernandez blasting the shots over the goal post from close range, does make it look that way. If they are doing this, it's likely his fault though. He's alienated too many players in the middle of the season. Then there are his bizarre line ups.

At this point, I'll put on the tinfoil hat and say the likes of Colwill, Sanchez and Maresca don't want us to finish in the top 4. Club won't be able to attract quality players or managers that could supplant them. The manager is already looking forward to his conference league fixtures.

The Brentford fixture stands out though. This was one game where the manager blatantly took the foot of the gas, on a weekend where everyone else dropped points. He had several stronger options on the bench and he decided to spare all of them. Chelsea has one of the toughest finishes to the season and every point counts, especially at this stage.

If Maresca hadn't cocked up his starting lineup against Brentford we could have been ahead. Now we need to worry about Newcastle leapfrogging us with their 2 spare games
