  1. Haha, I can totally relate. My first day at the Bridge also ended up with a rather ignominious defeat for the Chels, but to me the result was nothing more than a bonus. Nothing can take away the sheer joy of being there in person for the very first time. Truly special.
  2. If I had to pick one thing to disagree with Lampard, its this. Dropping the no.1 goalkeeper to prove a point is thing, but you don't shoot yourself in the foot for it. Cabellero is NOWHERE near the quality of GK needed to start regularly. I would pick him for penalty shoot outs and that's about it. Lampard hasn't exactly been vindicated in terms of results after dropping Kepa, and has potentially created an unsavory situation. It remains to be seen if he will eat humble pie and reinstate Kepa for the next game. Or if he will continue his 'Cabellero experiment' just to show it works.
  3. On the bright side, Arsenal will no longer be 'The only unbeaten team in the PL'
  4. IMO, he was invisible in attack, and I think he was just as useless as everyone else in midfield in terms of defense, especially in that 2nd half. No one was pressing, and we were giving Leicester easy forays into that final third. They carved us open time and again every time they went up the pitch. This wasn't the typical lung bursting performance we've seen from Kante.
  5. Believe me, I wasn't defending Lampard with that statement. No one is blameless here.
  6. He's probably not the only one, but boy was Kante invisible today. He was just not into the game at all. Did barely anything all game.
  7. Feels like today's team selection and subs were a massive middle finger to the Chelsea hierarchy sitting in the stands at the game today.
  8. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7925249/Chelsea-agree-new-shirt-sponsorship-deal-mobile-phone-network-Three.html New shirt sponsorship deal signed. Concerned about how that big logo is going to look like
  9. We could ask Cech to return to the pitch for the next few months, lol.
  10. Yeah, I agree there will be more scrutiny here. Although, I feel the scrutiny is a lot more intense now because there is no supporting act in terms of goals. When Mount was scoring, and when Pulisic was in good form, there was less reliance on Tammy's goals.
  11. But you cant really compare the two, can you? Torres had a big reputation coming into Chelsea, and was at the age where he should have been in his prime, and was meant to displace Drogba and Anelka who were still at the club. Tammy's role is to make up for the goal threat we lost with Hazard, and to a lesser extent, Ruben Loftus Cheek, when he became injured. Yesterday, besides the two goals he was involved in, he also had a couple of headers on target (or at least one on target). Far from a bad contribution. He is young and not yet the finished product. That being said, I think we need someone with better nous and ruthlessness to come off the bench to lend him a hand during games where he struggles. If wages are acceptable, someone like Cavani would be ideal
  12. Best not bring up that Tammy was the reason why we even got a lead and Arsenal a man down. When we lose, every player comes under fire in this forum. So no surprise
  13. The only way I can accept that, is if his plan is to sign someone WC who is not available in this window.
  14. Yeah the Courtois situation was on the board. They thought they could be clever about it, and it didnt expect Thibaut to double cross them at the last minute. 72 mill down the drain because of a lack of a plan B...not sure if we will spend on a new GK anytime soon because of that...
  15. On putting the ball out of play...that confused the heck out of me. Thought that Azpi would have done it when he received the ball. Abraham also made the mistake of getting up and continuing despite being hurt. Ultimately cost us the goal as well.
  16. ...the table says we are 10 ahead of Arsenal.. Or did I read wrong?
  17. Hazard was slated by a lot of people on here before But that's in the past. Need to invest in new blood. Soon.
  18. Kepa the keeper should have saved that second one. After the money the club invested in that GK position, I'm concerned the club wont spend more on a WC GK any time soon. We are still reeling from the Courtois fiasco. The only hope now is if Kepa is less worse next season
  19. I think Dave can at least defend. Unlike ball watching Emerson.
  20. Hopefully ONLY if both Alonso and James are fit. Any other full back playing will just put us on the back foot
  21. You should be telling that to the board. In the Gooners case, that is exactly their problem. Their management doesnt care about trophies
  22. No...no Emerson. His last real contribution was to gift Arsenal their goal at the Emirates. No more sub standard players filling roles because they are 'right' or 'left' footed.
  23. Bogey stadium. No surprise in dropping points...but that win though. Its like a bunch of Spurs and Arsenal fans went to a witch doctor and commited some obscene sacrifice to get us to lose 3 points
  24. Yeah, a bunch of our players had zoned out in the box thinking there was nothing dangerous to come. In fact I would blame neither Kepa and Rudiger for that one. They just happened to be closest. I would blame the players who were nowhere near the ball when they clearly were supposed to
