  1. Was it a verbal or written agreement? Terms mean nothing until official. I'm sure that Rudiger's agent is shopping around, that is the smart thing to do and so no surprise there. But it would be also very dumb to not even wait to learn who the new owners are and see what they have to offer before he makes a move.
  2. It's just their forward line that we need to be careful about. Benzema and Vinicius can turn it around in minutes, so the defense will have to be in top form and not make any silly mistakes (looking at Chalobah) That, and our false 9s who are likely to play., NEED to be clinical. Other than that, yes. I don't see us having too much trouble controlling the flow of the game itself.
  3. Sigh. This is annoying. I take back what I said. Luck run out.
  4. Wouldn't say completely ran out...... Did manage to avoid Bayern and the other English clubs..
  5. First piece of evidence will be how they handle the mid-week game against Pool. It's a double whammy against a stronger team AND a game with less prep time.
  6. Reminds me of the 2nd half of Hazard's 2013 and 2015 seasons...when he started morphing into Chelsea's main man.
  7. Probably spitting at a person next to him.
  8. Them...Carragher...Rio... Fuck. I hate that whole Pool/United ex player posse that rules football media in England. On the other hand, I'm also glad that none of our big guns became a pundit. Imagine having your ex player and legend talking shit about their former clubs performances.
  9. Think you're reacting to an older quote, mate. If the latest reports are to be believed, it looks like Roman has at least secured permission from the UK government to at least select the bidder. The bigger issue at the moment is with Barclay's bank. Who will have to open up Chelsea's account again so that a sale can go through. Hopefully they will stand to reason, soon. Trivago and seemingly also Nike, still continuing to partner us is welcome news.
  10. This. Stability is key. There's bound to be instability off the pitch, good or bad. We absolutely need stability on the pitch at least for the near term.
  11. This club had gone through adversity after adversity and has managed to come back stronger. Went to the brink, and still came back. How many clubs have gone through a two window transfer ban and end up winning a champions league soon after? Like Jimmy Greaves said., it's magical. Ktbffh.
  12. The ultimate irony and slap in the face of spitty Carragher would be if after all this crisis blows over , we actually end up signing Salah in the summer because he failed to negotiate a deal with Liverpool.
  13. A statement from Nike would be the biggest clue in that regard IMO.
  14. Jamie Carragher - A specialist in spitting.
  15. The question is how deprave the government would be to delay any potential sale allowing the club to rot further. Lose more sponsors, get a points deduction., and more. Basically put it on a tough path to recover even after an eventual sale. Which is why I keep asking whether Roman will launch legal action to at least allow the club to function semi-normally (albeit without sponsors) and also allow a sale in the short term.
  16. Can Roman launch any legal action against the UK government to put the sanctions on hold while he works through a sale?
  17. Honestly think he's just like Ole and Lamps but just a few steps behind. They might sneak into top 4 this season, because they don't have any other distractions this season, and because their nearest competitors are poor at the moment. Put them back in Europe next season and the comedy will likely unfold again. In short., they're having their Ole moment with Arteta this season. (Just like United finishing 2nd last season)
  18. I hope this isn't the kind of shit that makes him get cold feet. It's one thing to show support for the owner, but like Tuchel said, there's a time and place for it. And this wasn't it. Hope they don't repeat this at the next game, and especially not at the Bridge.
  19. How is it fixed? Isn't the official deadline to accept bids Mar 15th?? Doubt these papers have a real clue as to who the serious bidders are.
  20. John Terry takes aim at Chris Bryant after being criticised by the Labour MP for paying tribute to outgoing Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine, highlighting his vote for the Iraq war and role in the 2009 expenses' scandal https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-10580625/Chelsea-John-Terry-hits-Labour-MP-Chris-Bryant-criticism-Roman-Abramovich-tribute.html
  21. If the paper talk is to be believed there were also some Asian investors waiting in line. I wonder who.
  22. Liverpool get by because of the management structure, Klopp and their recruiting team. Which is why I'm not too worried. Yet. As long as Buck and/or Marina & Cech are retained in some capacity., and obviously Tuchel, we should be okay in the short term. The other aspect is contract negotiations. I hope whoever comes in doesn't fuck around and let players go without knowing their standing in the team. In short, I just hope we maintain status quo. Retain Connor Gallagher. Not even thinking of transfers for next season.
  23. I'm just hoping he can come through for us one last time, and place us in the right hands before moving on. Not entirely convinced by the investor consortium we are being linked with.
  24. Also, is no one commenting on the poetry in motion? The last trophy won under the Roman era was the club world cup, to finally complete the set. The only one missing from the list. The first trophy we won under Roman is the league cup in 2005 against Liverpool. And, in the seemingly the last trophy competed for under the Roman era, we lost the league cup final, against the same opponents.,Liverpool. Also...reading that one line from his statement on the club website is saddening. I hope that I will be able to visit Stamford Bridge one last time to say goodbye to all of you in person. It has been a privilege of a lifetime to be part of Chelsea FC and I am proud of all our joint achievements. Chelsea Football Club and its supporters will always be in my heart.
