  1. Modric vs Yaya Touré I wonder who would win? I would rahter someone like Modric is a more forward position and someone will a bit more steel in the pivot, like Cabaye or Fellaini.
  2. Torres Hazard - Mata - Marin Modric - Mikel Look at the formation. Besides Mikel how much defending will get done? Modric is capable but he is bullied very easily. That team would leak goals against teams like Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United. Signing Modric would be proof we are slowly turning into Arsenal i.e. small technical players with no 'steel'. Tottenham can pull it off but it's really risky. Don't forget how badly they were thrashed around at the start and end of the season. Mata - Torres - Hazard Lampard - Modric Mikel That is the only way I can see Modric fitting in.
  3. That is his prefered and natural position. Throughout his playing career at Dinamo Zagreb and for the Croatian National Team he played in the hole and on the left wing if necessary. He has only ever played the deep role at Tottenham.
  4. Yeah, but he isn't the greatest defender and a team with Modric, Mata, Hazard, Torres and Marin the midfield can and will get run over with a few nice passes or a concise counter attack.
  5. Unlikey seeing as Madrid isn't in England. Mathieu Debuchy has stated that he wants to play in England with Newcastle United and Chelsea the favourites. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2160175/Chelsea-want-Mathieu-Debuchy.html?ito=feeds-newsxml http://www.sabotagetimes.com/football-sport/everything-chelsea-fans-need-to-know-about-frances-mathieu-debuchy/ http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2012/06/13/mathieu-debuchy-keen-on-a-move-to-newcastle-united-61634-31170395/
  6. Jetro is only 18 so you can expect some rawness from him. He is one month younger then myself. He made some brilliant runs forward and didn't always neglect his defensive duties. His tackling is rash but that can only improve with experience.
  7. Eh, he plays in Mata's position so he really isn't needed. The 4-2-3-1 formation doesn't really suit him either, I feel he is more a 4-3-3 type of guy.
  8. Oh my, this lad was atrocious against Portugal. The Netherlands have a really, really, really amazingly poor defence. Young Jetro Willems looks very promising, though.
  9. What I meant by AC Milan hadn't had a good team in years, is that when Huntelaar was at AC Milan they hadn't had a good team in years. Again you go on about history (are you sure you aren't from RAWK? ), 'Finally, he's a poacher, and we do not have a good record of late with such players.' Anelka was a poacher and he won the Golden Boot with Chelsea. Besides the team personal has been changed a lot in the past few seasons, who says that a goal poacher can't suceed at Chelsea?
  10. You sound like a Liverpool fan with this nonsense about 'bigger' and 'smaller' clubs. 2003 is recent in my book, because I work on a ten year cycle. I use the term modern football to refer to the previous ten years. Schalke and Ajax are big clubs, just because you compare them with the two historicaly biggest clubs in Europe does not make them small clubs. Besides, AC Milan hasn't had a particularly good team in years and I bet Schalke or Ajax could and would defeat them in a match. 'Big clubs'... 'little clubs' it all means nothing when you are out on the pitch', your best chance of success is with the other ten guys wearing the same shirt, not some trophies sitting in a cupboard or the statistics of last season. What evidence is there to provide that Huntelaar won't make it at Chelsea? He didn't make it Milan and Real Madrid, so what? He wasn't first choice at either club and he scored a reasonable amount of goals during both stints for a backup striker. How many games did he start? How many minutes did he get? Besides, the last time I checked 14 goals in Europe is pretty good. If it was Falcao everyone would be in a cirlce jerk.
  11. Eh, I don't see why he gets so much stick. So what if he liked his time at AC Milan better? Everytime I see him on the tele he is always smiling and very proud of what Chelsea has done. He and Franck Leboeuf always have very nice things to say about Chelsea. They show their support so why do we question them? It's foolish and pointless to question another fan's support. If they support the club, they support the club; no ifs, ands or buts about it. For a matter of fact, Leboeuf always picks Chelsea to win the Premier League on ESPN Soccernet Presspass.
  12. What is the hottest part of the sun?
  13. I didn't say Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen are title contenders what I said was that they have recently won the Bundesliga in Bayern's recent dominance. Werder in 02-03 and Wolfsburg in 08-09. Goals still have to be scored against those 'timewasters teams' points aren't won by just being a 'superior club'. To dismiss goals because they come against lower ranked clubs is ridiculous. Calling Schalke and Ajax small clubs is ridiculous and incredibly arrogant.
  14. Stopped reading here. The 1.Bundeliga is the most competitive and well run football league in the world, bar none. Their is a reason why clubs like Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Dortmund, Breman can win the Bundeliga even during Bayern's dominance. I'm sick of all this Gomez thrashing, he has a few bad games and all of a sudden he is the worst striker in the world. He is a good goal scorer. A poor footballer, but a good goal scorer. He is playing well in the Euros, also.
  15. The only thing worse than the petty arguments in this thread are other users coming in and complaining that this thread is pathetic while telling others to 'shut the fuck up about Torres'.
  16. It sounds rather nice to be honest. It couldn't be worse than living in the desert!
  17. I didn't realise he was so old! I though he was 26/27.
  18. It takes me 10 hours to travel to Brisbane. That is about 900km. As many of you may have realised by now, I'm a fan of Belgium. I would love to live there, but what city?
  19. If Danny Bhoy leaves, I can see this going through. With the world being the way it is (an evil bitch that loves irony), he will outscore Torres tenfold.
  20. As I told Superblue, Belgian isn't a language. French and Dutch are spoken in Belgium with a German minority.
  21. Lukaku is from Antwerp where they speak Dutch. He played for Anderlecht which is in the Brussels region where both French and Dutch are spoken. He may have a grasp of French. Orange is Dutch Red is French Green is German Brussles is the tiny area with both orange and red. Antwerp is too the far north bordering Netherlands.
  22. I can see where you are coming from. I would love where I live if it was closer to somewhere. Surely England couldn't be all bad. Also, Belgian isn't a language, they speak French and Dutch in Belgium.
  23. I live in a desert town that is situated 900km away from the nearest city with a population of 1300.
  24. I would like to live in England for a while. You don't know what you have till it's gone.
  25. Imagine if Marcel and Franck came back! It would be like an early 00's renaissance.
