  1. You're looking at the broader picture and missing my point entirely... I made this topic just to discuss what teams would be great now if only one club could be played for...
  2. I don't know. I think it would be better and worse in some sense. Better in the fact that any team at any time could have a golden generation and win lots of titles, it would force clubs to really look at youth and what not. But on the flipside the overall quality of football in the highest leagues would suffer.
  3. Imagine a world where footballers could only play for their very first professional club. It doesn't matter how old they were, if they were a youngster at Norwich first, they'd be a Canary for life. This would mean that John Terry would be a West Spammer, Rooney would actually be forever a Blue Evertonian, Messi would forever be stuck in South America with Rosario and Cristiano Ronaldo would be plying his trade in the Tier 4 of Portugeuse football with Andorinha. West Ham would have dominated the past ten years with the likes of Joe Cole, Michael Carrick, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson and a few younger faces like Mark Noble, Jack Collison and James Tomkins. Southampton would be giving England a run for their money with talents like Gareth Bale, James Ward-Prowse, Luke Shaw, Theo Walcott, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Where would Chelsea be? We'd be cheering for players like Carlton Cole, Liam Bridcutt, Josh McEachran, Sam Hutchinson (if it weren't for injuries), Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Nathan Chalobah and Jack Cork. Solid but not great. I think Chelsea would be easily a middle of the pack team, floating up and down bettween top 7 and bottom 7 through the seasons.
  4. Yes, I did know that. Neuer reminds me of Hitler Youth.
  5. Germany's downfall will be their lack of a leader. Despite popular opinion I'm 100% convinced that both Lahm and Schweinsteiger are not leaders of any sort. Terrific players, no doubt but leaders of men they are not. This German team will not win the World Cup or the Euros, even though they are quite possibly the most stacked and talented German team for a long time. They lack the perfect cohesion and mechanical nature of past German teams. Lowe has given Germany flair and panaché but taken away their stereotypical 'boring, efficient, win at all costs' nature. I'd take the German team from 2006 over this one. Michael Ballack being one of the main reasons. Not often you see a barrel chested man take games by the scruff of their neck and alpha male his team to victory. Manuel Neuer is a clown that has to be replaced by Ter-Stegen, Adlér or even Leno. Mario Gotze will be less than flatering at Bayern. He will be constantly outshined by Draxler, Ozil, Muller, Kroos and Reus. André Schurrle will replace Podolski as the 'average for club, brilliant for nation' German. Stefan Kiessling is a machine that has been overlooked by Germany. Mario Gomez should be nowhere near die Mannschaft if they want to win anything. Schmelzer, Howedes, Hummels and Lahm should be the default starting back four.
  6. Let's hope he doesn't turn out like Lukasz Podolski...
  7. I think you should invest/pirate a little more sophisticated editing software.
  8. 2006 World Cup 2008 Euros England should have easily made the semis for both of those tournaments. With the team they had, it should have been a no brainer. They had talent stacked in every position on the field. Maybe lacked a clever playmaker like Deco or Sneijder but that alone shouldn't have held them back too much. Their squad list read out like beautiful song: Michael Owen Frank Lampard John Terry Ashley Cole Joe Cole Steven Gerrard Jamie Carragher David Beckham Rio Ferdinand Wayne Rooney Gary Neville Owen Hargreaves Michael Carrick Joe Cole - Michael Owen - David Beckham Frank Lampard - Michael Carrick Owen Hargreaves Ashley Cole - Rio Ferdinand - John Terry - Gary Neville David James Look at that team. Great isn't it? Not much flair or panaché but the talent is there. Look at the team they fielded just recently: Wayne Rooney - Daniel Sturridge Danny Welbeck - Steven Gerrard - Michael Carrick - Andros Townsend Leighton Baines - Phil Jagielka - Gary Cahill - Chris Smalling Joe Hart There are three players I'm very fond of in that team. Jagielka, Baines and Carrick. The rest at the moment are 'meh'.
  9. What I'd give for coverage of the Serie A in Australia. It's such an interesting league.
  10. Maybe....but when it comes down to it he is a just another human, so he can play for whomever he feels the most passion for.
  11. I don't know what the 4-3-3 has to do with anything because from what I see José has been playing a 4-2-3-1.
  12. He does play in the same position. Same position in the field, different playing styles. It's like saying that Dani Alves and Branislav Ivanovic play in the same position, they do; they are both right fullbacks but they are completely different players. At Chelsea their is only two positions in the midfield and Witsel and Pogba would be fighting for those two positions.
  13. I think we should sign that Sam Rhodes fella. I hear he is a cunt in real life but he gets the job done, kind of like Suarez. Personally, I'd like to see Shaw signed in January, I don't care if he doesn't join till next season, I want his signature secured, ASAP.
  14. I don't believe buying Nemanja is a smart thing to do. It's mainly the principle of the matter; buying Nemanja would be a statement of past foolishness and an admission that Chelsea were wrong. I believe clubs have to have a facade of being infallible even though we all know they are not. The club has too make sure whether true or not that all decision they make are the right ones, even if it's just the illusion of being 'right'.
  15. Well, he has proved himself in the League One. Championship next, please.
  16. SPOILERS GOSH, I WAS GOING TO WATCH IT LATER
  17. The Australian national team is a bunch of 35 year old has beens that play for minow teams in the middle of nowhere. And if they aren't 35, they are 25 year old men that have cashed it with large paychecks from the middle east. I'd rather have Mitch Nichols in the team than Tim Cahill. Play youth from the A-League, it's better than these pathetic bastards. The golden generation is finished. Get the fuck over it and move on. Kewell has been shit since 2004. Cahill has been rubbish since 2011. Neil was never that great and awful cunt to boot.
  18. Juventus are one of those clubs where I struggle to find redeeming qualities.

  20. And then people also have the right to be offended by anything you say. Welcome to free speech.
  21. Ah, Jamie Redknap and Michael Owen. Together they have the personality of a wet piece of cardboard. Jamie Carragher on the otherhand is looking to be a quality pundit. But we'll see with a bit more time. 'Fullbacks are either: failed winger or failed centrebacks. Nobody wants to grow up to be the next Gary Neville'. Fucking hilarious.
  22. Martin Tyler is the voice I believe a lot of people associate with football. I know I do. He has a bit of a soft spot for Chelsea too. Nothing like watching him interview the players and call the FA Cup final.
  23. Bale isn't that great. He is amazing don't worry, but he isn't the type of player to raise a team to the next level. Bale created a one dimensional team that relied on one player far too much. I don't think Thierry Henry and Gareth Bale should be compared at the moment. Paulinho, Soldado, Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela in the same bracket as Francis Jeffers is mental! Spurs are much better team, than last season. Imagine if Spurs didn't reinforce and Bale tore his ACL, they'd at best finish 6th or 7th.
