I have much the same to say about this game as the rest of you... Luiz penalty shout may have been soft, but it was a penalty no less. Cech done well to get a good hand to it and was unlucky not to make the save. Bosingwa's red was a joke. Shoulder to shoulder with a bit of shirt pulling, and Terry running back to cover. Yellow would have even been harsh. Sturridge should have stayed on instead of Drogba. Drogba may be more experienced but Sturridge is in good form and that's what we needed. All the experience in the world goes out the window if your not in the form to utilise it. Drogba red was nailed on. As for the myriad of yellows, I can't even remember half of them there were that many, at least 50% of them were bullshit. Frank should had a penalty and David Luiz could of arguably had two. Anelka was unlucky with the header and should of done better, but hey, it happens. David Luiz overhead kick was quality but I don't think Lampard knew much about it so his touch sent it off couldn't be helped. QPR as featuring Chris Foy were very fortunate to beat us. Sorry, but we weren't amazing. We started poorly and whilst we definitely played better after going down to nine we still weren't amazing. We were good and done well to stay in it, but we did not amaze.

Consider what Kalou has achieved thus far is his career compared to say Torres, who is only a year older than him. Then look at some of the younger players like Sturridge an Mata who actually have an impact on the team and bring something virtually every time they play. Kalou isn't old by any means, but if he hasn't proven himself to be worth while by now then he hardly looks likely to. He seems like a nice bloke and all, but as far as being an important player in this club goes... well, he's just not. Get rid of him.

Picked Torres but there were any amount of candidates. Meireles and Romeu to name a few.
-
If we play like like we did tonight, we could absolutely run amok when we face QPR. Can't wait.
-
Torres to score 5 tonight. Subbed for Kalou in the 80th minute. Genk to win 6-5. AVB out!

I've just bought the 3rd shirt this week. It really is the business but this got me thinking, is there even a team in EPL that both our home and away kits clash with? As far as I can figure, no. Can't see the 3rd getting a run out unless it's required in the CL. I have all this years shirts now and I think the 3rd has to be my favourite. Love the home shirt too, just wish I had of got it in long sleeve like the other two.

Really enjoyed yesterdays game and happy with the overall performance of the squad. If I had one complaint it would be the goals we have been conceding of late. Speaking to my brother, we agreed that if the price to be paid for good, attacking, possession football, scoring 3 or 4 goals a game is conceding 1 and loosing a clean sheet every match then so be it. However, I'd at least like the goals we do concede to be well worked by the opposition, and be goals they actually deserve. For the most part we're letting in sloppy efforts that really don't deserve to be converted. If we could sort this out we'd be playing an all round solid game. Sturridge is getting better by the week and seems to play his role very well. I was impressed with Mikel and of course Mata who was on another level yesterday. Honourable mention goes to Ashley Cole for his great first touch assist. The team seem to be really clicking now and surely that can only get better. Looking forward to the coming weeks with loads of matches which we should comfortably handle.

I bought last seasons blue change socks though I ended up preferring the normal white ones. I prefer this seasons white too but the blue change do look really well with the current kit.

So you're Justin 3d with a new account then? Same avatar, from the US and posting match downlink links post game. How come?

Take the piss out of what expression? What are you talking about?

Right... so as I said in the comment you quoted, you're saying that it's not that all these people are genuinely disgusted, it's just that they're all bandwagoners? That's a fantastic train of thought, Politicians should remember that next time one of them is unanimously voted against, "It's not that all these people genuinely don't want me to lead them. The first two didn't, the rest just hoped on the bandwagon".
-
So according to you it stands that if 20 people read something are are all disgusted that the first few are right to make a point of it, but the other lot of people are just bandwagoners? Riiiiiiight...
-
Totally agree, his subs were poor decisions in my opinion.
-
Probably because you called Kalou a "stupid motherfucking nigger".
-
... woah.
-
I wouldn't play Kalou in a Sunday league team never mind Chelsea.
-
I'd of had Malouda off for Anelka personally. Might as well get 90 out of Torres since he's on a 3 match ban.

What the Frank!

Valencia keeper is rampant!

I like Ivanovic as much as the next Chelsea fan. I will however never understand why anybody would want him at RB over Bosingwa. Ivan's crosses aren't much better if at all, and he's nowhere near as pacey. Bosingwa has been pretty solid so far this season. For me Ivan is an emergency RB only, but a very nice CB option.

100% agree. It's all well and good people saying Mikel slows the ball well for defensive aspects of the game. That's great if we're on the defensive, but when you're constantly on the attack, which is what AVB wants from his side, what does Mikel really offer in the way of that? It's like when people talk about his pass success rate. His rate might be brilliant, but look at the passes he's making. For the most part they're either side to side or backwards. As I said before, I have no problem with him. I just don't see how he fits into the attack minded side that AVB is trying to put together.

Just watching MotD. Mark Lawrenson says that Torres never actually made any connection with his two footed tackle. He shouldn't have made it in the first place, but it annoys me that if true, the Swansea player fell to the ground holding his shin when there was no contact.
-
To those saying Mikel was MotM I'd have to disagree. I'm not somebody who gets on Mikels back because I think for the most part he's fine. But as a squad, Chelsea quite often play slow. Then you get days like today, where at times we really pick up the pace. For me, Mikel kills that pace when we do actually achieve it. I'm sure he could adapt to it if need be, but at the moment he just kills any speedy build up we might have. Happy with the win today, good show all round for the most part. Daft Challenge from Torres but feel the red was too harsh. The yellow for Mata was definitely not called for. Ramires stepped up and Didier and Nando on the score sheet. What more could you want?... slightly better defending on set pieces because we were exposed the exact same way last week, but I'm sure that will improve.

I used to use SopCast but since MyP2P went down I can't find any links. Where do you get them?
-
Literally they did. Figuratively they drew with us and had the officials do them two huge favours. Shame the latter doesn't count for anything but still. Their result against us is not indicative of their form.
