What a tactical masterstroke from Grant to bring on Kalou and Anelka. It was Kalou's cross and Anelka's pressure that forced Riise to head into his own goal. An even more tactical masterstroke from Benitez,to bring Riise on. Seriously though, this tie is far from over, and we will certainly have to play ALOT better next Wednesday to progress to the final.

Btw,if i or anyone on here never owned a computer,it would be a tad difficult finding this forum Don't you think?
-
There are some people on here that have been supporting Chelsea before you were born. And for the record, had of we went the same way as Leeds, which very nearly happened,i would still be supporting Chelsea and going to games, just like i always have been. I do agree with your last sentence though.
-
Pardon moi?.What do you think the likes of myself, misschief,FB,changingman etc, have been saying since September?. Hopefully last night's reaction from the fans has sent Roman a stern message.
-
Absoloutely pathetic performance.Wrong team selection from Grant(again). This oaf is getting more and more of an embarrassment. Why the fuck rest key players, even though you have a match three days later?.Play your best team, then worry about the next game, when it arises. That's what 'good','tactical' managers do.
-
They even fucked around with the Man City game.In the Middlesbrough programme it's got the game down for a Sunday at 4pm,turn to page 3 of the programme and it's been brought back to Saturday.I feel for the one's that have made travel arrangements etc. I would suggest this is breaking Trading Standards laws, but it's not the fault of the clubs or the FA.Someone should have a word with Sky and the PL.

Thank god i'm not the only one who thought this was a painful game to watch. We were crap. After Carvalho got his early goal, you would expect us to win by a country mile, but in true Chelsea style we just made things difficult for ourselves.Joe Cole made good runs with the ball, but his final delivery was poor. The crowd had every right to get restless as we wasted chance after chance and struggled with keeping possesion, with Ballack probably the only player making any effort to keep the ball and creating anything. And how lucky were we after that rickett from Carlo?.Boro on another day would of taken those chances presented to them.Grant just stayed slumped in the dugout like the lazy oath that he is,while Southgate carried on motivating his side from his technical area. With the Yahnited game only weeks away we must play better,or a total embarrassment is on the cards.A painful game to watch, but we got the three points to stay second. On another issue.I'm getting increasingly annoyed with the Stewards at Chelsea.I was in the MHL yesterday, row GG,Seat 166,where a steward asked me to sit down........there was no one in the rows behind me,empty seats,so who's view was i infringing?.They are right cunts and do deserve a slap.

This is an absoloute disgrace and an insult to fans. How the PL can run rule and change fixtures whenever they feel like it,all for the sake of TV.They don't care about the genuine fans that actually travel to games. Most people have weekends off,now for the Everton game, many Chelsea fans will have to take a day off, mostly unpaid,so they can get to Liverpool for an 8pm kick off. Then is the hassle of getting back to London in the small hours of Friday morning, many will have to go to work/school that day too. Where is the sense in that? I forgot, the Premier League and Sky don't do sense
-
And can you please sit down, because Jemimah can't see,and don't sing Celery as it offends her. What's this zigger zagger about as well?.I thought it's a Spice Girl's song

I was in the West Upper against the yids back in January, and i really felt like a stranger in there.I even tried to generate an atmosphere in there and recieved looks of abhorance. To think the West Stand used to be quite vocal(pre-Roman).I used to pay the transfer fare from the Shed into the Benches. Those were the days .
-
ha ha,i knew someone on here would get defensive when i slag off the West Standers .I know there's the few in the West Stand that really do make the effort to generate atmosphere, which amazes me as one would expect them to follow the example set by the Matthew Harding and The Shed, which the atmosphere there is getting better and better, especially in the Shed Upper  .
-
My sentiments exactly fella.I go to the Bridge to support Chelsea, not Grant. His name definetley won't be chanted, unless some tarquin in the West Stand wants to try their luck, which i would'nt reccomend. Maybe it would'nt be a bad thing if we went trophy-less for a couple of seasons. It would get rid of the gloryhunters and make our younger fans see things in a different perspective.Whatever the day,i'll still be supporting the Chels and getting down to the Bridge whenever i can.Afterall,it's our religion
-
Spot on fella.I'm in no way demeaning the captaincy as many great English footballers has worn that arm band with upmost pride and endeavour. The media just hype it up even more. My point was in Football, the captain can't and won't ask a midfielder to pass to a certain player or a striker to position themselves in another way.Fair enough, the captain might organise set-pieces.In Cricket, the captain does everything ie:decides whether to bat or field first, providing they win the toss. The captain will also organise the batting order to the advantage of winning the match as well as organising the field etc. Football should be like that too, giving the captain more responsibility.Funny thing is,the media will never make the captain a scapegoat, prefering to single out the more creative players. JT knows the score and i'm sure that losing the England captaincy(temporaily) will not change his game. He's Chelsea captain, and that's what matters more.
-
I personaly think this England captaincy thing has been blown out of all proportion.Capello stated from the off that he would be diverse about the captaincy and he also said that he'll be nominating two more candidates for the summer friendlies, which is likely to be Gerrard,as well as JT. Capello does'nt also regard the Captaincy as a 'big thing'.When he was boss of Italy he would hand the arm band to the most capped player,or the oldest player as an alternative.Besides, the England football team captaincy is'nt as responsible as the England captaincy in Cricket and Rugby, where the captain makes all the vital descions ie:strategy changes, when the game's in progress.
-
This is just Cappello's way of flexing his muscles-showing people who's boss.It does'nt help also when the media are goading Terry over 'supposingly' losing the arm band. We all know the leadership qualities Terry posseses, although he can be lairy at times with referee's.His attitude does'nt really bother me tbh, besides, you don't get nowhere in life by being nice.Capello is a fine example of that.
-
if Drogba stays next season then 4-4-2 could be an option, but if we do get Rikjaard as manager,i can't see it happening as he likes 4-3-3 system. The problem about us using 4-4-2 to start games is we have to lose a wide player ie:Joe or Kalou. We should at least stick with 4-3-3 for now,no point in changing things unless we have to.
-
Stupid time of the season to play international friendlies. The FA simply don't care,so why should we care about them?.
-
The telling point Esk is when Essien was moved from RB to his usual position in the centre of midfield.Belletti could move the ball faster on the right and Essien was there to give the drive in midfield.Gallas and Toure could'nt live with Drogba and Fabregas's influence in the game was kept to a minimum by Ballack and Lamps. An all round good performance and a deserved win.
-
Wenger's post-match interview made me laugh."Chelsea won by playing 'long balls' up to Drogba".No shit sherlock!!!!!.Like we're going to play to satisfy your needs?. Same ol Wenger, always whinging
-
Thanks Toby.I've just phoned Dell's tech support and it looks like the LCD on the laptop is fucked,in which they're sending out an engineer on Friday to replace it with a new one. I can't believe it would be something so superficial
-
It's just precautionary.Lamps should be ok for Wednesday.Personally,i don't care if he's ruled out on Wednesday. It's only a friendly afterall.be sure Fergie will be making sure Rooney does'nt play.
-
Like all Arsenal fans,it's all gone quiet.Mouthy gooner that drinks in my local was texting me non stop from 1pm-5pm.After that, not a sausage off him or my gooner brother. As quiet as the Arsenal fans leaving SB yesterday.
-
Even Capello must of seen the funny side when we were sarcaticially chanting "Ingerland Ingerland" at the Arsenal fans/players.
-
Drogba is just playing the ol pals act.It was Gallas's first return to SB since his acrimonious and much publicised transfer across London,so he was going to be in for a hostile reception anyway, and believe me it was hostile from where i was sitting in the MHL.But i'm sure we won't prolong the feud with Gallas for as long as West Ham have with Lampard.
