Xavi is once in a lifetime player, i have a hard time believing either Thiago or Koke can come anywhere near his accomplishment and career. We are talking about a player that was a catalyst for one of the most dominating National team and also for his club. Those types of players are quite rare.

Wouldn't an EPL+Carling Cup trophy only reinforce his ultra conservative and reactive approach more? I mean trophies/reward reinforces what we believe, and it makes our beliefs stronger. At the end of the season Mou will look at this season as very succesful, he won two trophies. So he will continue to do what he has been doing. I hope i am wrong though.

I hope you don't hate him, or any player. Wasting energy on negativity and hate is a complete waste of time. I never got the constant bashing of Torres. I stated my openion on him, thought he wasen't good enough and that he need to go. No point beyond that to state the same crap like many, and especially after every game. Never understand why so many keep focusing on negativity and keep saying the same crap. There are players i dont rate, i stated my openion and i don't bother stating every time. I still defend those players whenever i see fit. But you clearly have an agenda and bias, and that goes for a few posters i can think of . For example look at the amount of posts you have wasted on stating the same crap. Calling him garbage or crap, if i remember correctly. I also remember you saying the same thing in the summer, and when he was playing good early on either you slated him or went missing. Look at your recent comments. He has a good game with Brazil, and you feel you have to state he is not good enough. I feel like the hate for Oscar is mirroring the hate Sturridge got on this forum. Sturridge was craped on all the time for things that was out of his control. Oscar is recieiving hate for the Mata and KDB saga, clearly nothing Oscar did played a part for their eventual transfers.
-
Far more similar to Sturridge.

Don't play a player that Likes to to cut in on his strong foot at a position where he can't do that.
-
How does it not? I think Gomes solves the midfield issue, the biggest problem in midfield is lack of options. Mou has played Matic, Cesc and Oscar in midfield mostly throughout the season, and all three players have run of steam. What Gomes add is another good option to our mdfield. What the midfield needs is a little tweaking, and i what i believe Mou will do to. A radical change is not needed, for instance this gives him a chance to rest any of those three players. Critically this gives Mou the oppertunity to play Cesc in the 10 more. Give me Gomes and sign an adequate RW we are a much better team.
-
How does he compare to Tammy Abraham and Izzy Brown? I was very impressed with Brown on a few occasions I have seen him, and seems like Tammy has a great scoring record.
-
Lucas Moura a winger? He is as much of a winger as Hazard is, neither player can be regarded as such. Lucas Moura can play anywhere on the left, right, and the hole. Firmino imo is playing as good as last season, he is playing deeper then last season that is why his stats are down. Last season he played like SS, he is a more rounded CAM. Oscar didn't win the trust of the Brazilian coach based on his reputation or anything, he won it through his play. 2002/2006 squad or starting 11? squad yes, i remember players like Ricardinho on the team. Oscar is def better then him. Starting 11? def not, Kaka and dinho were the best in the world in that position. btw second part was attempted at other posters. Look i agree Oscar consistency is an issue, we need another attacking midfielder. More importantly a quality one, not just another one. I have to ask do you see things in the middle, seems like everything black and white to you? No Oscar touch, passing, and ability is not consistently poor. I been watching Oscar since his days at Inter, i have seen enough of him to know that he can play under pressure. I don't think Oscar has elite touch, he is capable of great first touch but also some WTFs. I do not think Oscar is an elite technical player and he is not technically limited either though. Btw when did playing under pressure became the ultimate sign of techniclal ability? Pirlo is not great under pressure, doesn't mean he is tecnically limited? I don't believe Cesc is brillant either under pressure? Mata wasen't either.
-
Firmino, Coutinho, and Lucas Moura. Everything always black and white on this forum. If you are not skilled as Messi, Hazard, Neymar, etc then you are not skilled. Cant believe it, is it funny for someone to suggest Oscar is talented with ability and skill? WTF is he doing starting on a regular basis for Brazil and Chelsea? Not sure if trolling or just plain stupid.
-
Agreed. I don't think it is mainly because he is playing on the right though, it is more to do with the fact he is just like CR7, just a poor version of him. Real Madrid does not need another runner/poacher out wide. They played their best football when Bale was injured, and Isco/James played opposite of CR7. He is a finisher the less he is involved in the buildup the better for the team. I think he would work great here, we have the opposite problem of Madrid. We have too many players that like to be on the ball and get involved in the buildup no one makes those vertical runs behind the defenders here except Costa of course. William, Oscar, Hazard, and Cesc all their primary game is to get involved in the buildup. But United have a major hard on for Bale, it is rumored they were going to pay more then Madrid for him. But Bale wanted a move to Spain. I think Perez will recoup a lot of money from this signing. So i don't see us landing him, because how much he would cost.

Mou certainly not great at bringing youth. I know this. But he one 1/3 of the equation and saying it is only him is an issue. England doesn't have a great structure to bring up youth players, this is why England in general lacks talent. Chelsea, There needs to be a gap between U21 leagues and first team. Loan system is not reliable, since you are at the mercy of other clubs to develop your players. Chelsea fans is another great issue. I don't think Chelsea fans in general have the stomach for the highs and lows that comes with introducing youth players. You can't think that RLC or any other youth player can put in solid/good performance on a regular basis, a lot of learning process there is going to be times they are going to suck and they may cost you points. Also noting that players like RLC, Boga or Ake do not give you the best chance to win right now, with the money Chelsea have we can certainly buy establish players to play back up or play their minutes. But the upside of using youth players, is that knowing or hoping you have a better player in the future and gem. Some think RLC gives us a better chance to win then Ramires or Mikel, that is certainly not true but i do see the benefit of RLC in the future by playing him now. So there is a trade off, i don't believe Chelsea fans have the patience but i certainly do know that Chelsea fans like the idea of giving youths a try.
-
Ivanovic always makes those throw ins into the penalty box, has that ever lead to anything positive?
-
Giggs, Scholes, Neville came in at a different generation, that was before the money and popularity of the league. failure of youth adaption is more of a England issue, then specific clubs or managers for that matter.
-
I would like to see Remy on the right for a change, he deserves to play.
-
Extremely unpopular at Real Madrid right now, Isco should be playing ahead of him. United have a hard on for him so i guess he will go there if he does leave.
-
Sanchez is playing regularly and he has run out of steam since his fine form in the beginning. Wenger still plays him, and he played Ozil to when he was struggling. Carlo still plays Bale, eventhough most Real Madrid fan are ready to cut his head off. Koke has proven a lot under Simeone, no manager is going to bench such player because of bad form. It is just impracticable to do so, and short sighted. You risk the player trust, and dent the player confidence and security. Every manager does so. On Koke I am going through my Mac and all of the latest Atletico games i have downloaded, and if my memory is correct here i would evaluate each of his game: If anyone disagree let me know becuase how i remember those games. It should be said that Alti have looked back in recent months and i did not watch Alti game to be critical of Koke so if he had a bad game i probably didn't notice. Vs Barca early Jan- No impact Vs Real Madrdi also in Jan- Thought he did well. Torres turned back the time in that game, with his 2 goals. Griez and Suarez was not bad either. Vs Granada- No impact, don't think he was anywhere near best on the pitch. Gabi and Turan performance i can remember it was pretty good, and Manduz penalty is most i can remember in that game. Several games he did not play, was he injured i can't remember? I thought he did get injured against Real, can't recall completely. Vs Sevilla- He came on as a sub Vs Valencia- Scored the only goal in the game.

"You use that "statistics" when it's convenient for your point..." It is not because it is convenient, it is because we are talking about the first half of the season. The whole point of my responses is due to you saying he was ok in the first half of the season, and which i disagree and he was much better then "ok." I am not making any argument for last season or for his current form. So this is getting boring and its going nowhere. Lets be honest nothing i can show you will convince you otherwise. Not even Mou own words, which btw there is plenty of praises from Mou, where he describes Oscar "best on the pitch." Enjoy your day.

I didn't say he was better Costa or Febregas, where did i say that? You two both completely dismiss the evidence i brought forth, wait you guys completely ignored it in fact. I citied a Chelsea community site, that rated him having the most MOTM. The Mass of that site rated him alongside Cesc, Costa, Hazard, and Matic. ( I acutally think Talk Chelsea should have a system where we rate our players after every match, so we don't have so many revision of history.) On Whoscored.com he was also rated our 3rd highest player after Hazard and Cesc. Now if you find any website that rate players on a match-match basis, i am sure they would conclude the same he was one of our most important players. Now the reason i brought these two sites up is because i don't have any wish arguing over your perspectives. You have your lens and i have my lens, we all see the world through different beliefs and have our own biases. But the fact remains the same, there is a pile of evidence that suggest that Oscar was in fact one of our most important players.
-
He is Madrid bound, he will be sold for crazy money, Gareth Bale ballpark. Not that i think Isco is better then Pogba or Koke, but i prefer him over the two. He is the most dynamic no.10 we can get.
-
Please elaborate on this, what do you mean that, that statment piqued my interest. Koke is in a slump himself since the new year.
-
If our recent policies any indicitation, if he is signed then one of our attackers will leave. I wonder who?
-
On WAGH, a chelsea community website that members rate Chelsea players on a 1-10 scale. In the first half of the season, Oscar and Hazard had the most MOTM performances. You would be wrong to think he was just a supporting player. He was critical, as Matic, Cesc, Hazard, and Costa. I don't know why others are saying his potential is overrated. If he continued his first season half, he would be up there with Hazard as our POTY. He is extremely inconsistent, he needs to get better and been poor lately obviously. But beside Hazard almost everyone is playing below their level.

Jose Mourinho has always been a reactive/conservative manager, don't think it has anything to do with insecurity. The man strives when he is an underdog at his best and better then anyone when playing against the odds. Mou has never been as good in a position when he is a fav and that it demands him to be proactive. He has shown that through out his career. It is no criticism, just like everyone else he has his weaknesses.
-
I think most are going to get their wish, he will be sold in the summer to make way for Pogba. I have a suspension he will be sold to Juve plus cash for Pogba. Mark my words if we sell him we will regret it. I have not been wrong on any of the players we have sold. Lukaku i was always bearish on him, thought he had little upside compared to others. I never rated him since he first arrived always felt he was overrated based on his physical ability. I always believe young players can develop physically but much harder to develop on technical basis, always bet on the more technical player. Thought KDB should been kept and i had posted that he would be worth 40m+ in a few years. Most here thought we were robbing Wolfsburg, Most here were content with getting 18m for KDB, a player that barely played but forgot how much potential he showed at every stop. Schurrle- I though he got extremely overrated during the World Cup, then extremely underrated before he was sold. Good player, but never thought he would be a Chelsea regular because of multiple reasons. He will do well at Wolfsburg, but it was good we sold him. Salah i thought he could mirror Cuadrado in production and value, my god he has blown my expectation out of the water. He is playing at a level Cuadrado has never reached at Fiorentina. Then there is Sturridge, where i was called a fanboy for defending him. Still believe if he stays healthy he is one of the best in the league easily. His production and scoring record when healthy is as good as any player in the league.

Absloutely sure we can, but i am pretty sure we have to pay Florentina some sort of fee for breaking the contract.
