Imagine being Hazard contemplating signing a new deal while witnessing the level of player the club are signing. Compare the players we target compared to the club's above us and those competing for the CL.
-
Chelsea would become a laughing stock to the football world if this happened. FFS, I'd rather bring 40 year old Drogba out of retirement!
-
Buying all these midfielders in recent windows and yet Cesc is still irreplaceable. With Barkley, we'll have about 4 (5 if you count RLC) of the same sort of midfielder and only one creative one. We should've made a play for Arturo Vidal on a short term contract to bridge the gap to RLC. Watch Ruben now move to Liverpool or another of our rivals and become world class.
-
As mentioned on the previous page, this would surely be the end for RLC's hopes of breaking through our team next season. That fucking sucks.
-
IndyKaila!!! 😂😂😂 This would be such a board signing. A terrible one, too. No idea where he would even play for us. To rotate with Cesc? We have Drinkwater who can do that. Would be a massive waste of money.
-
I remember a few years ago Ballague was actually considered a top source. Now he has become a joke. Hasn't got a clue. I think Tibo is much more likely to sign a new deal here than Hazard is. But just imagine the uproar and chaos if we sold arguably our 2 best players in the same summer to the same team. 😐
-
Yeah, anyone (here or on Twitter) criticizing Conte for his tactics are crazy. We have very clear personnel issues, not tactical or coaching ones. We are 2-3 signings away from being the best side in the league again. If our board are so tight with money and refuse to sign the necessary players for us to compete again, it's on them not Conte. You can't be a "sell before we buy" club in this day and age when City, PSG, Madrid, Barca, United, and now even fucking Liverpool, are going out and spending literally whatever it takes to sign the players they really want. Seriously, what must Conte have thought when he saw Liverpool's board go out and sign their managers #1 target before the transfer window even opened so he'd be ready to help them right away? Probably "must be nice to have a club that backs you." United are nothing special this season and Liverpool and Spuds are breathing right down our necks. A couple of quality signings could really help lift the level of our team and solidify our position in the top 4.
-
If only a single reliable source was reporting anything. Haven't seen anything from the journalists who would know if he was possibly off this month.
-
He'll get a few in the next matches to get his confidence up. Needs everyone behind him rather than moaning about him.
-
You can't really stop using those excuses because he gets into those positions more than any other striker in the league. To do that is a great skill. It's just that when he gets there he shits his pants. Confidence must be at rock bottom right now.
-
Only reason I'm not raging about him is that he has been scoring this season. But FFS, you're main #9 who cost as much as he did needs to score at least the majority of his 1v1's. Missing one every now and then is fine. Missing nearly all of them is ridiculous. Diego Costa would've had a hat-trick today it must be said. The likes of Kane, Aguero, or Salah bury those chances. Morata has a mental block and his sloppiness has cost us 3 massive points there.
-
Very Torres-like, tbh. Strikers like Kane or Aguero bury that every time.
-
Bakayoko just has so little positional discipline. That's his biggest downside. Has no clue where he should be defensively. He should be the one marking Özil when he continuously received the ball right in the middle of the pitch,
-
It's games like these against quality opposition where Alonso gets badly exposed defensively. Fine going forward but gets repeatedly roasted by the pace of Arsenal. We REALLY need to stop allowing Özil to pick the ball up in space over and over again. Same spot on the pitch, too. Only a matter of time before he puts one on a plate for Alexis or Lacazette. We were very dangerous in attack ourselves but are having one of our "couldn't score in a brothel" matches we're prone to. Morata missing yet another 1 on 1 with the keeper. He just panics when he gets into those positions. Very worrying for your £60m striker.
-
Really, this is basically our strongest XI (give or take Cahill) and that Arsenal XI is missing several key players. A couple of raw kids in defense, Xhaka + Wilshere who can both look decent one game and awful the next. Would be pretty...I don't know if I'd say embarrasing, but it would be pretty bad if we lost this. Especially knowing what 3 points would mean. I know it's a derby against a hated rival and anything can happen, but we must win this.
-
Cahill trying to mark and defend that front 3 of Lacazette, Sanchez, and Özil looks like an area they'll try to really exploit. Their attack looks every strong but their defense and midfield look very suspect. If our 3 midfielders and Hazard/Morata are sharp and at their best we should be having our way in midfield and around their box. Only way I can see us struggling is if we come out like slow motion zombies as we've done at times this season. Take the fucking game to them!
-
Lots of talk about an injury crisis for Arsenal but I'm not buying that they'll have so many players out. I'll bet all the players Wenger says have a small chance of playing will indeed play. Still expecting them to send out a strong team with maybe 2-3 weak areas that we can exploit. I think Conte will definitely start Bakayoko so I hope he really steps up here. That's the area of the pitch where we should have a massive advantage if we play with 3 in midfield and Bakayoko plays well. Our players need to show some heart and some balls tonight. Realize what's on the line and the situation around us. With the title obviously long gone there are only 3 CL places to fight for. With Spuds steadily improving and with Liverpool in red hot form plus signing VVD we don't want to slip up here. We can effectively end Arsenal's chances of catching us with a win tonight. That's a huge incentive. We've got very winnable matches coming up after Arsenal whilst Liverpool have City and Spuds. Another opportunity to solidify our position in the top 4.
-
So literally every one of our rivals won these past couple of days. Massive pressure on us now to maintain our form and get 3 points.
-
A player perfectly suited to the PL and who would be a beast against even the top teams in this league. I'd take him in a heartbeat even if it's for just a couple of seasons.
-
Liverpool have Spuds and City coming up soon so us winning at Arsenal and restoring that 4 point gap is even more important. Think they'll lose both of those matches.
-
Yeah, can't see us signing even one player this month. We'll just be praying like crazy that neither Morata or Alonso get injured because there's basically no (quality) cover for either.
-
Win this and we'll all but ensure that Arsenal are no longer a threat to us securing a top 4 spot. One less side to worry about in that pursuit.
-
Mourinho was absolutely seething as he was walking off. 😂 The commentary team here on NBC were spot on in their analysis of José and this United team. Exactly the same as it was for us when he was here. It looks like José coaches up a defense brilliantly (and United have certainly been solid at the back) but simply does not train extensively in attacking moves and flowing football. He just sets his teams out to be solid at the back and hope the flair players (Hazard in our case) would pull out some magic. He just kind of lets the attackers do what they want without any patterns of play, He's starting to look a bit stale and dated in his approach. If this continues, I wonder how long the United fans will accept it.
-
They'll probably now go on and score a winner after I say this, but my word are United boring! That first 10 or so matches when they were blowing away the cannon fodder of the league looks like ages ago.
-
Very strange to say of a striker but he does everything magnificently except for finishing with his feet. Great runs and off the ball movement, terrific in the air, great touch and ability in tight spaces when closed down. He gets into dangerous positions over and over and so many 1 on 1's with the keeper but can't finish. If he hadn't been scoring in other ways I'd be very concerned.
