Not being able to secure a work permit and having had a couple of bad injuries (not to mention a long suspention at one point) has made bring over Rajkovic very difficult indeed. He hasn't hit the levels we would have hoped him to and it seems he is now looking for a club, he is training at Cobham at the moment though but he will not have a future at Chelsea. It happens, they can't all make it with us...
-
Oh boy! This is one hell of a saga! Can't wait for it to be over, just hope it ends with him signing for us.

Are we really going to judge players on their physical ability? I certainly hope not.... Yes Lukaku does look a top prospect, but could just as easily flop as Neymar. Physicality means squat, the player needs to be technically capable. In my opinion it is things like that (judging a players potential on physical ability) that is holding this country back on producing young players. All across the country on a Sunday afternoon you will see teams play the biggest, strongest players to have an advantage whilst the smaller more technical players are marginalised. Frank Nouble excelled at Chelsea at an early age due to his build, now he has moved up and playing a mans game he no longer has that advantage. Give me a McEachran over a Nouble every day of the week. A look at Chelsea's academy now will show you the clubs philosophy, focusing on the technical ability rather than physical.

There comes a point where we have to take a risk on one of these young brazilians, we missed out on Pato when we were interested in him and now we couldn't sign him even if we wanted to!! There is never a gurantee with ANY player that they will move to England and be a success, so many players it has been said they would struggle in the Prem, Torres for one. Are we saying that we should never sign any of the highly rated brazilian youngsters because they may not live up to potential? Of course not, if Milan or Madrid took that attitude they would have ended up with World Class players.
-
Don't agree with that, didn't see him struggle physically when he got his chance. Gym work will only get you so far too, to deal truly with the physical nature of football you have to play in it! Reserves football in no way replicates that, which is why (and i have said it plenty of times) that this country will only bring through better quality youngsters once reserve teams are allowed to compete in league football.

Barca and Real work in very different ways, and more often than not, they are not good ways but get away with it. Real signed Ronaldo in a matter of days? They spent over a year getting that deal done. They work away at the big deals over time and convince the player to sign for them first and then get the player to pretty much force a move, leaving the selling club little option. We have seen that we are one of the most attractive clubs to sign for along with Barca, Real and Man Utd. At things stand Spain are going to be a more attractive option mainly because of the tax in this country and the difference in Spain. Also who have we actually missed out on? Was we ever in for Ozil? Was we ever in for Villa? ect.... the only deal that really went wrong for us was Robinho, and those circumstances were completely different.
-
Really need to start blooding Kakuta this season. The more time he gets the quicker he will settle into the team and the better he can be. Time to stop pussy-footing about, we have one of the best young talents around and we need to use him
-
Oh boy, this is becomming worse than the Robinho saga, we have half of Brazil trying to get the kid to stay and his agent and us looking to get him to move.
-
Yeah, maybe Ivanovic for Ferreira..........
-
I have no idea what happened, i know there are a few people who do know and they are pretty well connected but it is far from common knowledge. Not seen enough of Ashton yet to know really what sort of level he can reach due to his injury but i am looking forward to seeing him back in action.

I fully expect the same team that started against West Brom to start against Wigan. Ramires on the bench to come with 30 or so minutes left. No reason to change a winning team when there has been a full week break between games,

Couldn't have put it better. Nice to see someone leave with the right attitude. -
Hmmm, dissapointing the noises now seem to be against the move to Chelsea. A lot of pressure on him to stay from numerous people. There is an outside chance of this still happening, but it certainly seems a lot less likely.
-
Yes the curse could hopefully be lifted now! Glad he has a first 11 squad number.....
-
For the last time, we will not be signing a centre back. It was clear right from the beginning and Carlo has said it himself we have 3 world class centre backs and the most promising young centre back around.
-
Goal and Tribal football only post stories found in other reports anyway, so the stories they post will invariably find their way onto the site anyway.. Transfer roumers by their very nature are bound to be spurious or plain guesswork.....
-
Lol, not for this one yet! This one is more likely to go down to transfer deadline day, although if a deal is agreed early this week as is being indicated then it could be done by next week.
-
Lol, i know the deeling. a lot of positive quotes flying around various media reports today.
-
Would be nice to see him take up one of the starting 11 numbers, 4 or 6... just looking forward to seeing him play for us really. See what he can do.
-
As if we will let Kakuta go, although reports of him being in the last year of his contract are a little worrying.
-
Well that wasn't too bad a start to the season Excellent confidence boost for the team to start with such a good win and hopefully it is the way we will continue to play for the rest of the season. Excellent for Didier to pick up a hat-trick in the opening game, with his injury problem sorted for good it may his best season for us yet, which would be saying something!! Couldn't have asked for more really, lets hope we don't move from top spot until the end of the season now... Only dissapointment for me was Kalou coming on instead of Sturridge... got to give Sturridge these minutes if we want him to grow as a player
-
Still keeping everything crossed for this one to go through. What an important signing it would be for us...
-
No-one knows really. But Billy and Josh did get in trouble a while back and Billy Knott has since been let go by the club. But i wouldn't read too much into it, the club will do everything possible to keep Josh grounded.
