  1. Looks like Sol Campbell will be playing, he looked so slow in the reserve game that Kakuta and Sturridge are gonna have a field day!!!
  2. Previously we had to rebuild our entire squad, now we have a very strong squad and only small changes need to be made. Even less so as we are trying to use our own young talent to suppliment the squad. So yes, we will never see the spending that we made some years ago and that is a good thing, it shows we have a settled and able squad that we can add to slowly and with more consideration.
  3. Will be interesting to see what team is put out by Carlo. Caertainly Kakuta and Sturridge will start, as will Bruma i imagine. If he is determined to use this to blood our youngsters then surely Van Aanholt and McEachran will also start. But we do want to progress in this cup to give more chances to these young players. Lets be honest, we are not taking much of a risk by playing these lads, they are top class and more than capable of holding their own.
  4. Josh is top top class, fantastic for him to be getting first team chances already. A little video of some his best bits:
  5. Best Moment Winning the title in 2004/2005 season, when Frank scored that second goal against Bolton and it really sunk in we were champions of the Premier League for the first team, will never replicate that feeling. Worst Moment Definitely the Champions League final defeat in Moscow, horrible feeling. Funniest Moment Any number of Jose's press conferences were always good for a laugh. Best Manager At the moment it is Jose but it won't take long for Carlo to overtake Jose as our best manager. Worst Manager Scolari Favourite Player Zola, genius Least favourite Player As with BlueLion, when a player is at Chelsea i never dislike anyone. Favourite goal Lampards impossible angle goal against Barca, never gets enough credit for that goal, had Messi or Cronaldo done that we would never stop seeing it Best game attended v West Ham when we won 4 - 1 after being 1 - 0 down and then down to 10 men. Incredible atmosphere generated in that game and was incredible to watch us come back Worst game attended Knocked out of the Carling Cup on pens by Charlton, Huth missing the last pen. Poor game and dead atmosphere too Favourite chant/song Carefree What does being a Chelsea fan mean to you? It means being a part of something special. Fantastic and unique fellow fans and a club to be proud of. It means sitting down on a matchday with my wife and daughter and all sharing a love and passion for the same thing.
  6. Again, will be interesting to see what squad gets put out. With the Carling Cup mid week i would imagine it would pretty much be our strongest 11 that will go out against Blackpool....
  7. Who cares about England at the moment. Right now as Chelsea fans we can look forward to a seriously talented player developing at Chelsea.
  8. Absolutely, Barca are (as always) the team to beat. Arsenal are looking good, but they still have their obvious flaws, and against stronger opposition will continue to come unstuck, we most certainly are very effective against them. Also if they lose Fabregas to injury again they will struggle, he is pulling all the strings for them at the moment... The sky's the limit for us at the moment, the management of the squad is going to be key to how we do this season, i fancy us for the Premiership again, cup comps are always a gamble but i am sure we pick up at least 1 other trophy this season, hopefully the CL.
  9. Wouldn't worry too much to be honest about the shakey defence, both Zhirkov and Ivanovic were run a bit ragged last night which made things worse. On the whole this season our defence has been incredibly solid. Benayoun had a good game in his first start. Again, the whole squad looking incredibly good this season, whoever comes in the 11 is playing to the same high standard, no weak links showing for us at the moment and we are able to comfortably rotate the team.
  10. Mikel has had a storming season so far, real class in the midfield. Just when everyone assumed the arrival of Ramires would mean a reduced role for Mikel he comes out in the form of his life. He is maturing at the right time and to still be so young....
  11. Another very good win without having to really break a sweat. Things going very smoothly so far. Plus the fact that Sturridge started and scored, looking bright and Kakuta, McEachran and Van Aanholt all coming on. Well pleased for Josh getting his debut, he always looks so comfortable, all of the young lads involved with the first team squad can very comfortably play with the first team at any point. Shame the commentators couldn't decide how to pronounce his name correctly though....
  12. I like the team Carlo has put out for this game, good enough to beat what is infront of us and give game time to players who have not had much like Zhirkov, Benayoun and Sturridge. This is where our smaller squad and the management of that squad will be very important for our season, no matter what changes are made (as long as there are not wholesale changes) the team is still very strong.
  13. The contracts will be sorted, the only question is over Bosingwa for obvious reasons but i am sure that will be sorted also. Lets just hope they are dealt with soon to save any unnecessary worry for us fans.
  14. I am sure we will get the win, but no matter how bad West Ham have played they will be up for this one and will make it tough for us. I would just like to see Sturridge get a start.
  15. If we were to sign Ronaldo of course i would be happy, he is a quality footballer no matter what i may think of him as a person. A team with Ronaldo in it is one hell of a dangerous team, and to have that would be great of course.
  16. Any good? Have read his other books, have not purchased this one yet though..
  17. No-one even comes close to Cole at the moment, he is truly World Class and the best there is in his position. Another who it is going to be impossible to replace when the times comes.
  18. Currently reading Stephen Kings "Night Shift" - a collection of his early short stories....
  19. Really have no idea if the club consider him an option for the future or not, he has plenty of experience and is a very good left back. I hope he does come back and get his chance, but i have a feeling that it is not going to happen for him now.
  20. Excellent news for him, and hopefully he keeps getting the games there.....
  21. All these Carlo interviews are excellent, he comes across very well and seems to be a decent man. He is doing very good things for this club and i hope he stays around for a long time and builds something truly special for the club.
  22. Following the internationals and the injuries we have had the starting 11 is still very unclear, would like to see Sturridge getting a start, he is working very hard and hitting some good form.

  24. So whats the solution? Sign Torres and Aguero and say to them, "well you sit on the bench and if Drogba and Malouda get injuries then you can play" There is only so much cover you can have, and certainly the cover will only be up to a certain standard. Yes at the moment we have Ivanovic, Terry, Bosingwa and Bruma out. You just can't allow for these sorts of things, you just have to deal with them however you can. We have a defensive squad of Terry, Alex, Ivanovic, Ferreira, Bosingwa, Cole, Zhirkov, Bruma and Van Aanholt. How much cover can you have? Ok you lose 3 centre backs you are in trouble but how can you ever cover for that?
