  1. Carlo has been asking him to play things simple at the moment, i guess the reasoning behind that is to get up to the speed of play of first team football. If it was me though i would just let him loose and let him do what he does best.
  2. As seems to happen to often with us, Jacob's form faltered once he went on loan. His form has been OK for the reserves but not as good as it was. Still a good player but needs a decent loan or a spell in the first team to bring him up to scratch,
  3. I think that could well be waht we will see, although there is some doubt over Kalou returning from injury on this pitch too isn't there? CTV last night were saying that the 18 man squad basically picks itself because 3 of the 19 players left are the keepers, but i am not 100% sure who they were including in that 18. Bosingwa will miss to not aggrevate injury, Drogba will miss because the weather isn't good for his recover from fever, Alex and Lampard not yet ready. Looks like Cole and Essien will not be played so they don't suffer injury problems. So i think the team there you have put down could be correct, although there is a big chance that McEachran could play instead of Kakuta, especially if it is a spot in midfield up for grabs.
  4. Well it all depends on his reasons for wanting to leave. There could obviously be the fact that he could just be looking for a bigger contract, but if he has personal reasons to want to go then there is every chance that it could happen.
  5. IF Rooney decides to leave and IF we can sign him with the money of Madrid and City to contend with then of course we should sign him.... But this has a got a long way to go before anything happens, this won't happen in January.
  6. A lot of players will be rested for this game because of the pitch, not to take any risks. To be honest, we will be fine and it is better not to risk anymore injuries to players.
  7. Josh's ability is undeniable, he is so talented it is untrue. Touches like the one in the video above he can do so easily. Some of the ability on the ball in the video i made of him, particulary from the youth cup are just crazy. What he doesn't do is tricks for the sake of tricks, everything he does is for a reason and 9 times out of 10 he pulls it off. His rise has been so quick, it was 2 years ago i first saw him win player of the tournament in the U16's tournament the Cobham cup, and now he is playing well in the first team. It is really pleasing to see Josh transfer his ability to influence a game and his skill into the first team to well. For a 17 year old to be able to do that in a team like Chelsea is something very very special and not to be taken lightly. When you see what he is doing when on the pitch it is hard to see him not getting more and more games. But Chelsea will want to be careful with him and not overload and over pressurise him.
  8. First mention of Kakuta's contract in todays press conference, and on the whole not particulary positve ones. Doesn't look like the negotiations are progressing well at all. Would be a disaster to lose Kakuta, doubly so if we lose him on a free.
  9. Well said, all very true... Aparently the kid is a striker which we always seem a little short on, players who can play the lone striker role in a 4-3-3, with Mitrovic and Prosenik injured the youths are lacking there... Lets hope the club can develop this talent, yes this is very unusual to have this made public because it does happen all the time at this age.
  10. The reason Delac isn't in our squad is because he is too young. It is much more beneficial to Chelsea to have him playing in the Dutch league for a season or 2 before coming into our squad to push Cech. Rhys Taylor also doing well on loan at Crewe, and Sam Walker is a top prospect too....
  11. I think we will be able to win this game, we are so very strong this season. Would like to see Bosingwa back in action for this one. The midfield picks itself again and hopefully Ramires has another good game in an attacking sense. And if Terry isn't fit then Bruma certainly will be and i would have no problems seeing him line up in the back 4. I agree with Badboy, i fancy us for a 2 - 0 win, Drogba having had a good break i expect him to do some damage, so both goals to Drogba
  12. Well Arnesen's role has changed to Sporting Director, so his role is different to what they are suggesting which is player recruitment. And my understanding of what Begiristain's role would be is that of negotiatior of deals to sign players. For me Arnesen has done a very good job, our youth set up is immaculate and whilst we brought through our own talent he also scouted some excellent foreign players like Bruma, Kakuta, Van Aanholt and Borini who we are seeing emerge now. The main aim of the academy now will be to bring through players we have developed from a young age like Josh McEachran. So for me i would like Arnesen to stay.
  13. With young players all you can do is bring in potential, it is then down to the club and the player to realise that potential. For Matic playing in the Dutch league regulary will be brilliant for him and for us because we will find out a lot about his ability. Matic can be a very good player and his speed isn't really a problem if he can develop his ability on the ball to a higher level. Wathing him play in the reserves last season he has some excellent ball control and ability on the ball, he just needs to be a quicker with his choices sometimes, tends to take to long to make a descision, that will come along with games. For Delac the experience at his age is invaluable. Like Rhys Taylor keepers need to play to improve, and playing in the Dutch league as an 18 year old will be of huge benefit to Chelsea. The link with Vitesse is ideal for us, and the value of this link should not be judged on the success or failure of these 3 players. Rajkovic certainly will not be playing at Chelsea in the future, Matic has a lot to prove but i think Delac stands a very good chance. The players need to take this experince and do the most with it, like what Stoch did at Twente.
  14. Of course it a success, we are having our players play regular first team football in the Dutch league. It is all down to the players from there, they have to show they are good enough. It is very good exsperience for them, Delac in particular is doing well to be getting games considering his age.
  15. Cech is a qulaity goalkeeper, these sorts of lists do not show much though. How are they judging who is the best every year? In my opinion i wouldn't pick anyone over Cech, thats good enough for me.
  16. So many players had an impressive month but Mikel has been outstanding so for me he would be the pick of a very good bunch
  17. Indeed they are coached to deal with the physical side, the trouble is, at this age in their development playing against older boys and competing physically is a lot harder than when playing mens football. The physical development at that age is big. BUT this is one of the things that helps them to learn to deal with the physical side of football. Just look at the youth cup winning side, Connor Clifford, Kaby Djalo, Gokhan Tore ect.. all able to mix it physically as well as play good football. The idea is to develop the players the exact way the first team plays.
  18. I am sure Bruma isn't thinking he should be starting week in week out. He will get his chances and he needs to take those chances. The club will decide if he should go on loan, if he does it is vital he goes somewhere that is right for his development. The way things have gone at Chelsea a loan move would seem like a backwards step but that isn't the case, a loan could be vital especially for a young defender.
  19. What you have to remember is that we play a lot younger players than most clubs, especially than the lower league clubs. So many players could be playing who have moved up to reserves, we are more concerned with developing the players and giving them the chance of playing higher levels. We play a number of schoolboys at youth level, even Nathaniel Chalobah is basically skipping U18's level. Whilst it would be nice to be winning every game it is not what is important at this level, the development of our better players is the most important thing. Playing against more physically developed players will be good for their long term progress but short term results will suffer. You will see in most of these games us having more of the ball and with better passing.
  20. The Under 18s earned their first point in three games on Saturday from what was an uneventful game. Dermot Drummy's side, captained by Ben Sampayo (pictured), enjoyed the lion's share of possession but were unable to convert it into more than the odd chance. Towards the end of the game they survived when Ipswich hit the post and when reduced to 10 men with midfielder Anton Rodgers the player sent off. Nathaniel Chalobah moved down from the reserve squad to play his first youth team game of the season in midfield, and Adam Nditi started for the first time as one of the front three. He had the best opportunity to score when played in one-on-one with the keeper by Bobby Devyne but the shot was blocked. Prior to that, Jamal Blackman in the Chelsea goal had made a save. Blackman saved again in the second half and then had to watch as free-kick hit woodwork, but the young Blues had been on top before Rodgers was shown a red card on 77 minutes for dissent. He would have missed next week's match at home to Arsenal anyway due to international duty. Chalobah was booked in the first half. 'We were attack-minded and Ipswich seemed to happy to defend,' reports Drummy. 'We defended fine and had quite a lot of possession but lacked any real killer instinct. The boys need to learn to be more creative in the final third.' Chelsea: Jamal Blackman; Ben Sampayo ©, Archange Nkumu, George Saville, Reece Loudon (Amin Affane); Todd Kane, Nathaniel Chalobah, Anton Rodgers; Adam Nditi (Lewis Baker) Bobby Devyne, Buomesca Na Bangna (Danny Stenning). 21. To be honest i would still take him. I am sure with all that has happened we will not have to pay the full buyout price.
  22. Fantastic win today! Thought we made it harder for ourselves than we needed to, gave them too much space without closing down as we would usually do against the Arse, but we held them off very well and got our goals, should have had more too considering Essien and Anelka had chances they should have put away 100% and Ash's goal wasn't offside....
  23. The players that are currently away from Chelsea (Mancienne, Cork, Bertrand) are not likely now i think to make it with Chelsea. The current players we are breaking through, Bornini, Bruma, Van Aanholt, Kakuta and McEachran are all exceptionally talented and have shown that they can play at our first team level and i am sure that they will continue to grow into top Chelsea players. We have also a crop of players behind them very high in quality and then even further back more players with high prospects. We are doing the right thing with them at the moment, giving them playing time, if we feel they need it then a loan to the premiership will be ideal and they will be given that if needed. Carlo is doing very good work with our youngsters and it will reap rewards. Lets just hope they keep being given games
