Calderon is a twat, i wouldn't believe anything that comes out of his mouth at all. Still plenty of life left in this transfer..... We are desperate for some new exciting blood for our wings and if we don't manage to sign Robinho i can't see where we will turn to.

Shame, i still say he was worth a gamble at the price being quoted.

Excellant news!!! Have to laugh at this comming out the same day and "exclusives" in the paper saying that he will go Pompey.

Wayne Bridge has signed a new four-year contract with the club, which will run until 2012. Bridge, who made 19 appearances last season, signed for the club in the summer of 2003, and is delighted to have put pen to paper. 'I'm just happy, I love it here, all the lads, staff, everything, so I'm happy to be here, hopefully for the four years,' he exclusively told Chelsea TV. In total, the left-back has made 130 appearances for the club, scoring four times. He also spent time on loan with Fulham prior to the 2005/6 World Cup, turning out 12 times for our west London neighbours. New manager Felipe Scolari was pleased Bridge has opted to stay at Stamford Bridge. He said: 'I am very pleased for Wayne that he has committed his future to Chelsea. I have been here only a few days, but I have seen that he is one of the best professionals at the club. I very much like his playing style.' Bridge actually signed the contract last month, prior to Scolari's arrival at Chelsea, however the deal was signed with the Brazilian's knowledge. The decision was taken to wait until now to announce the deal as we preferred the manager to be settled and working first. Chief executive Peter Kenyon has also spoken on the 27-year-old's new contract. 'We are delighted that Wayne has committed himself to Chelsea for the next four years. He is a key member of our squad and is relishing the challenge of the arrival of a new manager. 'We are fortunate at Chelsea that we have the two best left-backs in England and it is a source of pride for us. Wayne's new deal also underlines the club's commitment to maintaining a strong English core to our squad.' To see the full Wayne Bridge interview, tune in to Blues News at 6.30pm. Source: Chelsea FC

Time to get this deal put through!! It is very interesting if it is true that we have made an offer to Madrid. I assume that personal terms have been discussed through his agent and won't be an issue so now to see what Madrid do with the offer we have given to them.

Robinho's agent claims the Real Madrid forward is 'seriously considering' an offer from Chelsea because Luiz Felipe Scolari is the club's manager. The Brazil international has repeatedly been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with reports claiming the Blues have offered 60million euros (£47.8million). Chelsea have previously played down a bid for Robinho, while the player's agent Wagner Ribeiro claims the offer does not match the figures being quoted. "The Chelsea offer is big, but it's not that big," Ribeiro told Brazilian website Globoesporte.com. However, Ribeiro has revealed that Robinho is tempted by the chance to work with Scolari following a brief meeting between the fellow Brazilians five years ago. Ribeiro added: "What's making Robinho seriously consider accepting Chelsea's offer is that Scolari helped him a lot when he still wasn't very well known in Europe. "Scolari called him up to play a game in Basel, between the Friends of Ronaldo and Friends of Zidane in 2003. Scolari spoke to Robinho and gave him strength." Robinho has also been linked with a move to Manchester United as part exchange in Real's bid to sign Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo. The player recently said he had no intention of being used as a makeweight in that deal, and Ribeiro admits the situation has forced Robinho to consider his future with Real. He said: "In the meeting (with Chelsea sporting director Frank Arnesen last week) I said that Robinho was at one of the best clubs in the world, he earns a good wage and today he's known worldwide because of Real. "Madrid is one of the best cities in the world to live in. In other words he has it all. "The only unpleasant thing is the club's assessment of his value, and he feels undervalued for having become a part of some trade deal." Source: Sky Sports

The transfer market in general seems very very slow at the moment. A lot of that seems to be down to the fact that clubs are asking for ridiculously high transfer fees for their players. Presuming all the players we expect to leave do leave then we only need 1/2 more players to come in, Robinho seems to be our main and possibly only target at the moment.
-
Madrid need cash if they want to buy Ronaldo, i have a feeling and i certainly hope that this move will happen. I think Madrid are probably holding out for as much cash as they can get from us...
-
It is so hard to know what to believe and what not to believe from the media and from various agents. It does seem that there is interest from us for Robinho, i guess it all depends on if Madrid are willing to sell or how much they are willing to sell for. And also if Robinho truly does want to leave. Yes we would like to get as much transfer dealings done before the squad fly out for pre season games. But i am sure they are not going to push too hard to get done quickly as deals can still be done...

What are SSN news saying then? Robinho would be a huge asset to our team. Playing in the left wing position that we need so deperately to upgrade with some real quality.

Scolari: I'll be good for English players

That is correct. The club must submit 2 lists to UEFA for the CL squad. List A and List B. List A Must look like this for next season: 1. No specification 2. No specification 3. No specification 4. No specification 5. No specification 6. No specification 7. No specification 8. No specification 9. No specification 10. No specification 11. No specification 12. No specification 13. No specification 14. No specification 15. No specification 16. No specification 17. No specification 18. Association-Trained Player 19. Association-Trained Player 20. Association-Trained Player 21. Association-Trained Player 22. Club-Trained player 23. Club-Trained player 24. Club-Trained player 25. Club-Trained player If we want to submit a full 25 player squad then that is what we need to fulfill. Of course we can (as we did last season) just submit a smaller squad - 22 in this case as JT as our only club trained player. For example Franco Di Santo will not class as club trained, and i am not sure if Scott Sinclair does either still. We are also allowed to submit an unlimited number of players on list B, this list can be continually added to during the season with the list given to UEFA 24 hours before a match takes place. Players on this list are: Born on or after 1st January 1987 and have been with the club for 2 uninterrupted years from the age of 15. -
The roumers about Maka have been around a while now, but there has been nothing official. It would not suprise me to see Maka go this summer and he would go with everyones best wishes too. Actually i havn't noticed Maka in training, or Malouda for that matter but Anelka is back in training.

Scolari: I'll be good for English players
EskWeston replied to TrueChelseaBlue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well the only rule we have to satisfy is the UEFA rule. And there is nothing that specifies that the player has to be English to fulfill the rule. We have a excellant mix of Engligh and non-English at youth level so we will see English come through. Not to mention that we have 2 who will likely be given a chance this season Sinclair and Mancienne -

Yes Michael Woods in a few years, as well as the likes of Jacob Mellis, Liam Bridcutt ect.. Kakuta will be considered home grown of course. The definition of a home grown player according to UEFA is: "A player who has been registered for a minimum of three seasons with the club between the ages of 15 and 21" -
Chelsea are interested in signing Real Madrid's Brazilian forward Robinho - but have not offered £48m in a bid to bring him to Stamford Bridge. BBC Sport understands the 24-year-old is on the list of targets drawn up by Chelsea's new manager, Robinho's fellow countryman Luiz Felipe Scolari. Chelsea have not, as claimed by sources at the Bernabeu, made a £48m offer. Robinho is unhappy that Real have tried to use him in their attempt to sign Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo. Scolari is currently working on bringing in new faces ahead of his first Premier League campaign and Robinho is believed to be keen to work with the former Brazil coach. Robinho said: "It would be a dream for me to work with Luiz Felipe Scolari, who is one of the best coaches in the world. "I have always spoken highly of him and he has always spoken very highly of me, since well before he was at Chelsea "In 2003, when I was unknown in Europe, he called me to play in a charity match. It was brief but it was enough for me to see his style and character." And Robinho's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, was reported as saying in Spain: "Madrid have failed to value him as he deserves and I do not like the fact that they tried to include him in the Ronaldo deal. Money is not the problem for us now. "What matters for Robinho is to leave the club and play for Scolari at Chelsea." Real, however, are reluctant to sanction any deal for Robinho to leave while their bid to bring Portugal winger Ronaldo to Spain remains in the balance - and this could yet cool Chelsea's interest. Scolari: I'll be good for English players
EskWeston replied to TrueChelseaBlue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
This is as has been discussed before excellant news. It will really help us out with the UEFA "Home Grown" rule. But with regards to "English" talent. Well who knows. Mancienne looks like he is going to be given a chance and the same with Sinclair. Bertrand and Cork are top prospects who are out on loan for 6 months. However are bightest prospects are foreign. Kakuta, Stoch, Tejera.... but there are plenty of English talent there still so we may see more English come through our ranks. -
I wouldn't like Bridge to go, i think he is an outstanding back up left back. But it may be the case that he desperately wants to move on this summer for first team footie!! And i can see how we would work it if he was to leave too. SWP can go, the sooner he goes and we bring in a replacement the better.
-
Bridgey is a target for Pompey according to all of the media at the moment. I could see it possibly happening. With Bosingwa now taking up the right back spot, you could see maybe Scolari keeping Belletti and using Ferreira as back up left back and letting Bridge move on....
-
Only a matter of time before Pizarro leaves, we all know that. The only question is, where will he go and how much will we get for him.
-
Todays papers are saying that we are making a last ditch bid to bring Ronnie to CFC after a long time of stories claiming we are completely out of the race...
-
Well if Lamps really does want to leave then i would certainly take £12m plus Adriano! But only if Frank really wants to leave, Adriano can still be a amazing player, recaptured his form on loan in Brazil.
-
And then todays papers claim he is saying it would be a dream to link up with Scolari! Also that we have made or about to make a £48m bid for him....
-
Well he seems to be at the moment a target for us. We are not linked realistically with many players but it certainly seems like we are interested in signing Robinho. Madrid do need to bring some cash in if their want to sign Ronaldo. I would think at the moment it is very likely.
-
Yes, he was 100% a first team player. He trained every day with them, he was unlucky with fitness and injury. Completely different situation to Di Santo....
-
I would doubt he would be included as a full time squad member. He will more than likely be involved like a couple of others, training with the first team and plenty of places on the bench with maybe 10/20 minutes here and there.
