united vs chelsea 3-1 chelsea vs united 3-3 chelsea vs united 2-3 chelsea vs united (coc) 5-4 united vs chelsea (fa cup) 2-2 the no. of goals we had conceded against united in the past 2 years left little to the imagination as to how our defenders would have dealt with their counter. we would have out-scored them, who knows, but jose dint want to take that risk. and as i said before, it was the right decision.
-
are u that ignorant? yes i want chelsea to be the champions again, and these type of RESULTS are what make you champions. that is what united have done for the past years and that is what we used to do in 2004-05. this is what an away game is like. would u have wanted us to fall back 2 goals to united AGAIN, because that is exactly how well our defence could deal with them. let me refresh your memory united vs chelsea 3-1 chelsea vs united 3-3 chelsea vs united 2-3 chelsea vs united (coc) 5-4 united vs chelsea (fa cup) 2-2 the last 2 fixtures that we played against united should barely count because the SB FA cup fixture was played immediately afte united lost their CL match to RM and even during the match it was obvious that they dint give a shit. and the last match was a dead rubber which dint mean anything to them. these scorelines tell how exactly how adept our defence is to play against the united counters. everton dont have a better side than any of chelsea, arsenal, tot, manchesters and yet the goodison park trip is considered to be one of the worst ones. why? because that is what an away fixture can do to you. and this was the champions for heaven's sake. as for mata man-marking carrick argument goes, who are we kidding? do you remember toure's run against us where mata just let him pass. even i love mata but his defensive frivolities simply dint make him a starter for me. (also dont forget that the majority of us dint put mata in our starting 11 before the match started, we just wanted a sub role for him, which would have been silly considering, the way we were playing and were setup to play). so jose made the right decision by not letting in mata (not saying the same about lukaku, though), and yes I am very happy with a point because even at the start of the match, i would have predicted a draw for us. more so, i am happy that united dint win last night and now they have to play pool away and city in 2 weeks' time, still totally unsure of themselves.
-
we could have, but then united would have countered (like the last move of the match), and we simply dont have a defence that is pacy enough to deal with it. it would have been something of the fa cup OT game, or even worse something like last year's SB game. jose could have fought fire with fire and ended up getting burned instead he got a point. plus united face pool at anfield, and city at etihad still unsure of themselves. imagine if they had got a win last night. if we have to curb/sacrifice our attacking prowess for one match for a much greater good, i ll accept it within a hearbeat.
-
then i feel arsenal is the team for u,because i feel jose got his tactics right. 0-0 draw at the home os champions is a GREAT RESULT. also jose would want chelsea to win trophies rather than play offensive football. he has his priorities right, can not say the same about the fans though.
-
punch him in the face, heh?? tell me how he got his tactics wrong??? we were playing the CHAMPIONS of england in their own backyard. OLD TRAFFORD. and this team would have put their heart and soul in, to get a good result. he got a couple of players wrong, but his tactics were right. mata could not have been brought on. there was no point of bringing him on. with mata we would have controlled the game and let united counter us, this was EXACTLY the type of thing jose dint want to do last night. the way oscar played in the center, man -marking carrick thru out the game, do u actually think mata could have done that? NO, not evn one-tenth of it. with the tactics that we used yesterday, mata would have been as useful to us as he was against bayern or barca. so no one is blinded. people accept that jose made a mistake by not playing lukaku, but mata (specially the one that played against villa, the same one who every1 said was pathetic on that day), was no option for today. we have a big squad we very different types of players. and jose used that versatility of the squad to gain us a point.
-
take it easy dude. its not at all hard to understand but what IS hard to understand is, why would any1 be crying over the game when we got a good result. we did what was REQUIRED off us. if it means playing defensive - shitty football then so be it. such results are the one which lead a team to PL, how u get it then becomes secondary.
-
started well, with his run but then lost the ball, many times. his performance was characterised by the last move of the day for us when he mind bogglingly chose to cut in and try to pass in the center at 92 minuted 20 seconds rather than just pass the ball to iva who could have crossed in or got a corner or something. his loosing the ball and then not even trying the fall back for the last move of the game, should tell us exactly of his comitement to the team. he is past it, the sooner we accept it, the better.
-
dude, sometimes you have to go against your basic nature and do something really unexpected of you. last night was one of those nights. we went to OT, got a clean sheet and one-point. not many teams are going to be able to do that. or do you want us to become arsenal and try and play good football with no thought about the result. 38 matches are a lot and you will be entertained on most of the occasions, but jose did what was good for the team in the long run, and that is get a point at OT, not give moyes his first win at OT, leave united and united fans still unsure about themselves before going to face POOL at anfield.

good result, brilliant tactics, poor team selection and and awful match. cant understand why people are crying over the game. united are unsure of themselves and today could have been a make or break day for them. jose did the right thing by making united take the onus and take the bait rather than going all guns blazing. united's next match is POOL away and 2 weeks later city away. if they had won today, it would have gone a long long way in calming their nerves. while jose's tactics were good, his team selection was poor. there is no point of playing rambo if you are not going to use his running. rambo played a very mikel game, barely out of our own half and just for winning the ball back/marking rooney. mikel would and should have been a better choice. lukaku should have started as a striker. with cech pinting the ball from the goalkicks, there was no way schurrle was beating vidic to it. lukaku would have been a much much greater threat. here is my player analysis - cech - good game. dint put a foot wrong and barely had anything to do. the rooney stop was brillaint. 8/10 ivanovic - solid. dint let evra/welbeck run behind him and also covered the cbs well. 7/10 cahill - good performance. but again instead of putting tackles, he prefers putting in blocks (rooney just at the edge of box). will cost us big. 7/10 JT - WALL. what a performance. brilliant in the air. dint let rvp turn if he received the ball with his back to the goal. simply flawless performance. 10/10 cole - good performance. covered hazard really well. dint let valencia cross the ball rather play it back to jones. tried to do something in the attack (unlike iva) but could not make a difference. 7.5/10 ramires - this has to be one of his worst performances in the chelsea blue. dont think any of his forward passes were correct in the 1st half. let rooney run the game easily. missed marking late runs on a number of occasions and even let people run around him instead of putting a tackle. very unlike RAMBO. 4/10 lampard - slow on the ball. got closed down by cleverly on a number of occasions. dint do much for the attack but was much better defensively than rambo. 6/10 hazard - what is wrong with this guy. among every1 who was been a part of the team in this season's 3 matches, he has definitely had the worst start to this season. valencia OWNED him. the number of times he lost the ball to a valencia tackle was simply countless. the only time he got into the game was in the last 15 minutes when valencia got subbed. very poor decision making too, when choosing to single-handedly taken on jones and valencia rather than pass the ball. 5/10 oscar - good game. man-marked carrick out of the game. had to play cam as well as a deep lying playmaker. could have done more in some of the counters we had. without our best attacking player on the pitch. 7/10 kdb - simply could not assert himself. covered evra's runs very well. was good defensively but gave nothing in our attacks. also playing him on the wings is equivalent to playing mata on the wings. there is no width. 6/10 schurrle - he might not have won any headers, or taken any shot on the goal, or even provided any threat but his workrate is commendable. full of running and closing down, be it on the wing or as a striker. provided some width to us deep in the 2nd half which sometimes did stretch united but simply could not take on evra twice. good performance overall. 7/10 torres - started well, with his run but then lost the ball, many times. his performance was characterised by the last move of the day for us when he mind bogglingly chose to cut in and try to pass in the center at 92 minuted 20 seconds rather than just pass the ball to iva who could have crossed in or got a corner or something. his loosing the ball and then not even trying the fall back for the last move of the game, should tell us exactly of his comitement to the team. he is past it, the sooner we accept it, the better. 5/10 mikel, azpilicueta - not enough time to write about.
-
why lampard? why no lukaku? why why why??? damn it jose...
-
from the match. or in general?
-
forget cech, i seriously dont think de gea is any better than thibaut...
-
that is every1's opinion.
-
nonsense. as simple as that. moses put in briliant performances against united, arsenal and in general was one of the best players in the league in the last month or so of the 2011-12 season. we had already splashed out cash to get oscar, hazard, azpi, marin. what we had needed at that moment was a squad player who would fill in the quota of the HG player and wont be costly at all. moses for 7mil was a GOOD DEAL. his transfer had nothing to do with the fact that he and emanalo are nigerian. a lot of weird and absolutely rubbish opinions are posted on this forum but yours in beyond comparision.
-
lukaku, ginkel are 20 and pretty much should be considered as youth.
-
I AM SO HAPPY...
-
what a massive head start it would be... win this game and wooooooohhhhhhhhhhhooooooooo... exactly the kind of campaign mou likes...
-
continously ridiculing posters does not make you look as the most pious supporter though. people ARE different. some can easily accept a thing and move on while the others would like to hold on to that something as long as they can. but name-calling and ridiculing and specially doubting the "fans'" credibility is no way to answer or argue here specially when that something WILL turn out to be the one of the biggest and the most obvious mistakes we have made.
-
its not that difficult. judging by the way you ridicule and abuse any1 who does not agree with you around here, and your OTT attitude about being the only or the best chelsea fan ever, i seriously CAN imangine how the conversations would go. ps - see an argument can be made what calling some1 a cunt, or telling them to "fuck off to other forums".
-
again, i dint start it, you are the one who came up with the word, so i just went with the flow. as for you talking with other chelsea supporters about chelsea, i can imagine how that conversation would go.
-
why? because i praised sturridge for his goal last night. seems legit. what an ass.
-
oh , i think you are the one who actually started the name-calling be it in this thread or the sturridge thread, so dont try to act as the poor-innocent victim here. give me a shout out when u can get off your high horse and except chelsea has more than one fan. unfortunately that would require you to be more mature, so i wont bet on it.
-
i did read it, but the level of stupidty and idiotism were just massive in it. so i tried to make a look a little bit smart - not much, but a bit. ps- suprised you dint have a , in your post. TOPTB is growing up?
-
the only place to be with his classic ... what are you 10? supposedly you are a wanker, so just love the bloody smiley, right wanker? those kdb and oscar thru balls were a point in a very civilised argument with another poster who said we dont put any incisive thru ball and that not our style. but why am i wasting my time explaining anything to the most massive arrogant, pompous cunt on the forum.
