  1. I'm glad someone said it. Amazing night, that was - Same with the 5-0 win there in 98. I love it when we beat Arsenal
  2. If United can sort out their defending, then they've definitely got a chance. Think they're the only British side in with a shout though.
  3. Bet you won't be feeling like that when we're being drawn later vs. Atletico or Napoli...Or Inter or Anzhi or Zenit or Ajax
  4. Felt weird not awaiting our name to come out of the pot. Some great ties though.
  5. Shakhtar vs. Dortmund. What a tie that'll be!
  6. Wouldn't mind one of the German teams to be honest.
  7. Just had a look through the teams we could potentially be drawn against. There are some very good teams in there.
  8. It looked like he was the only one aware of the rivalry between us and Leeds. Nice to finally see some physical dominance in the middle of the park.
  9. Perhaps, but Luiz has mobility over Lampard and strength over Oscar. His work rate is twice that of either Lampard or Oscar and he's growing into a leader on the pitch. I've stated I don't like him as a CB too many times i'm beginning to sound like a broken record I was only talking about a stop-gap as well btw - With Romeu/Mikel out, we're well short of numbers, and as soon as JT/Cahill are back we're covered at CB. Either we commit to Luiz in midfield or purchase/loan a player in January imo.
  10. I wasn't talking about goals and I wasn't talking about free-kicks. I'm getting bored of speaking about his defending, so i'll simply say Luiz's ability to pick a key pass from deep in midfield is something we lack. He's not a natural midfielder, I know, but i'd rather have him there than Lampard/Oscar considering Mikel/Romeu are out and Ramires' passing is poor. My post was considering the situation our team is in at the minute, your reply was not.

  12. At least we showed some quality in the second half. First half was a bit embarrassing and very frustrating to watch. We played some nice stuff after the break although to be fair, Leeds folded completely as soon as the Mata goal went in and the the gulf in quality eventually showed. Still, it was a nice show of character and a much needed win. Mata was MOTM by a country mile for me, he's an absolute class act and it's criminal that he hasn't played as the true no.10 all season long. I was disappointed with Marin, he's very predictable and doesn't actually play very wide considering he's a winger. Luiz should be put in midfield as soon as JT/Cahill are back, his passing range is ridiculous (for the record I never want to see a Lampard/Oscar pivot again).
  13. Trust me, I've made my feelings about Luiz's defending perfectly clear and it was obviously his fault, but if the pivot was well balanced, we'd have had some kind of cover.
  14. So who was covering the counter attack when Luiz went forward? Nobody.
  15. Well Mr. Benitez, we could all tell the Oscar-Lampard pivot wouldn't work. Why couldn't you?
  16. Well, he was apparently an injury doubt, so there's a chance that's why he's not included tonight. I'm ecstatic about Ake on the bench. I know the club rate him very highly.
  17. Well, we know what the board are like. They see a world-class striker, a high asking price, get all starry-eyed and, well, we know the rest.
  18. I have a feeling the club will have to deal with FA fines after this game in one way or another.
  19. When you're playing a game every 3/4 days, there is no time to hang around feeling sorry for yourself.
  20. Comfortable? I doubt it. Doesn't matter who is playing for Leeds, they will raise their game, no doubt. Obviously with the quality in the squad that we have, this is a game we should win. But with the team morale low and injuries/suspensions we have, I can see us making this hard for ourselves. Saying that, I do think we can win this, as long as we don't concede first.
  21. Very sad news. Hope he makes a full recovery, and soon.
  22. Does it really matter how many times he's said it? Whether he wants to play CF or is willing to play RW, he's not playing in either position at the moment, whatever the reasons.
