Pjanic isn't getting sold with the season Roma is having. Ilicic is an attacking midfielder, not a CM. The whole reason Guarin is available is to give Kovacic more time. They are not selling him. I think yesterday's game showed how important Ramires is to our team and why having another driver in Guarin would be useful. When the game got stretched, Mikel and Lamps had the entire middle third to themselves but wouldn't drive through. Hell, Luiz and Cahill probably did a better job of bringing the ball forward. Coupled with our strikers being so useless, everything looked so stagnant.

The reality is, unfortunately, he will never get the minutes here because he's got 5 players ahead of him. With Mata, giving him more minutes was an easy choice because we always knew that if we simply played him more, he would again become a top player. I really wanted him to succeed here, and still do, but not at the expense of Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Schurrle and Willian. After coming back from the injury, this was the first game Eto'o started. He didn't play in the Steau game or the Crystal Palace game which have bigger priorities for us. If he was our first choice, he would have played against Palace and his 32 year old body would have been rested today. Mata was rested, and didn't even travel. You know who else didn't travel to Sunderland? Cech and Ramires who are our first names on the teamsheet when we play a more meaningful match than a CoC match before a big league game against Arsenal. And Mata started 4 of our last 5 games, so you have no idea what you are talking about when you say he barely plays.

Eto'o is our first choice? Have you been following us lately? If we played Oscar and Ramires instead of KdB and Mikel, we would have won, so I wouldn't have said it's just the CoC.
