  1. Vorm had a howler gifting Arshavin a goal.
  2. Because of those who think he should be dropped and would be a sign AVB really means he doesn't play players on reputation or because of his play?
  3. At home in California getting ready to fly from LAX to NYC. Surreal moments and days after. Hope my daughter never lives through something like this again in her life.
  4. I'm sure he and the other players do even better than we do. I imagine they review tape, break it down, and I'm sure at times its pretty uncomfortable and tough to watch.
  5. why did I think kama sutra when I saw that?
  6. I like it but it doesn't give enough to Sturridge. It sounds more like Mata/Torres. I know we're getting ahead of ourselves but I'm overly optimistic right now.
  7. LOL Play the ball quickly to him so he doesn't have time to think whatever the hell is going on in his head, and like you say just react and hit the damn thing.
  8. @Chelseajoa_93 said on twitter: "I think you'll find the accepted shorthand for a Sturridge/Torres/Mata forward line is #juandando" I hope that's what we see on Sat and I hope it's ridiculously successful going forward (no pun)..
  9. I completely agree with you but I'm personally making myself crazy looking at every past game and thinking he (and others) should have done this, or done that. Bottom line goals will shut up all the critics.
  10. Shoulda - coulda - woulda. I think we've all experienced that in our lives. I've never done it with millions looking on thank God. I don't want to be like those damn scousers always living in the past, so forward, onward, and all that stuff.
  11. The game was actually at SB but everything else is right. The only thing that could have made it worse was if it had been played at Anfield. On FSC in the States they did an interview with John Henry, LFC owner, before the game and he was pretty much holier than thou how they were glad to be rid of Torres, etc etc.
  12. Random thoughts on the D&G photo shoot: JT's pretty happy in the picture. Why did Luiz need help with his belt?
  13. Beckham is slow as dirt. He usually has one or two speedy runs in him in a match. One thing that has not changed at all though is his ability to deliver a great ball whether its a set piece, switching the field, or a 30 yard pass up field. That is first class.
  14. He played 90 minutes for Portugal last week.
  15. DB has been good to Torres but that goes both ways. A main source of friction at Liverpool was Torres/Spain NT/Liverpool. He'd leave Liverpool, join the NT, come back hurt, and Liverpool would miss him for weeks. Liverpool would rush to have him back, another international game/friendly, off Torres would go to join Spain, and he'd get hurt again. It was pissing off Rafa who wanted Torres to rest, it was pissing off Spain who said he was ok, and it was pissing off Torres who wanted to play for club and country. DB brought Torres for the WC because of his history with the NT, his Euro Cup winning goal, etc (similar to Lampard - a good servant for his country). In hindsight it was probably one of the worst things to happen - Torres was only 6-8 weeks post-op knee surgery (second in 6 months) and he wasn't 100%. He probably wasn't even 75% and it affected his game. For me personally (and I don't count according to AVB or DB), Torres needs to stay healthy, needs to play with his club, find a rhythm with his teammates, and find the back of the net. The rest will take care of itself. For me now it seems to be a mental block more than anything else. The hate he receives from the media, "fans", makes me wonder what he's done to piss off so many people other than leave holier than thou Liverpool. He even gets it in Spain which Atletico fans say is because he's repeatedly pledged his loyalty to Atletico and thumbed his nose at RM. In Madrid, if you're not playing for RM, you're sh*t and that permeates a lot of the Spanish media. Bottom line - he needs to work hard, start scoring, and that'll shut up his critics.
  16. Llorente has to play today in his hometown or VDB will find it difficult to make it out of the stadium.
  17. Torres has been part of the Spain NT for a long time. Even when he's been at his best, think 2007/2008, he's looked a little out of place on the Spain NT. That said, he needs to get on the score sheet quick and I say that as a huge Torres fan.
  18. I've watched him and never thought "he's strong". His strengths lie in his speed of play, movement, and technique.
  19. Why wasn't Ramires at the Brazil game? Hasn't he been a regular lately?
  20. Not saying its right or wrong but I don't think AVB will bench Lampard after the rough English week he's had.
  21. This forum might meltdown from the outrage.
  22. He played the entire game for Portugal yesterday.
