Pardew has long had Mourinho's number. I didn't think we'd lose but I knew we were in for a tough game because Pardew knows exactly how to set up against Mourinho. And we know Mourinho is a very basic manager who doesn't have much tactical variation or ideas in his approach to games.

If we had a proactive defence that would ease the work-load on the attacking players as they'd have less ground to cover. At present they are running more or less the entire length of the field constantly to track back and then go forward. Azpi is the only defender in the starting 11 that would be great in a proactive defence. The reason we look so disjointed is because our team doesn't function as a unit.

Nah, but it's unreasonable to demand attacking players press like their lives depend on it and then carry defenders who are unable and/or unwilling to press high up and support those same attackers.
