  1. He probably said all the right things and forget about it the second Sturridge walked out of his office. Lifes good when you'e this pessimistic.
  2. He is too good for Swansea and the Championship. It is most likely Sturridge who refused to go to Swansea on loan and not Carlo. I don't think Carlo is fussed if Sturridge stays or goes, he will continue to give him last resort/meaningless minutes. As for the bold I think that is wishful thinking. His best bet is to get promoted to 1st substitute ahead of Kalou.
  3. Which says it all. We're all blinded by the love for our club but we have to be honest. Daniel Sturridge is a very good young player and will only get better by playing. A buy back clause would be ideal, if he develops (which is very likely) then buy him back. Many of the Spanish clubs do it.
  4. I actually like Sturridge very much and wish he could play more. Even if he doesn't always peform I see the talent is quite clearly there. Sturridge isn't getting any serious game time, Carling Cup games and a dead rubber against Zilina don't make up for sitting on the bench almost all year. I've read quotes by him today in which he states if he doesn't get much playing time he will move on. Good! He is finally coming to his senses. He has wasted a year and a half sitting on the bench at Chelsea at a time in his career when he needs to be playing constantly. We can all talk this nonsense about players getting old and nows a good time to be a Chelsea youth but even with Malaria Drogba is starting every game! Sturridge shold think about his career and move on.
  5. He should have never signed for Chelsea. Who the hell was advising him that going to Chelsea would be a good move? He could potentially develop into a 15-20 goal a season striker and simply needs games to devlop. Games he won't get at Chelsea. A truly horrible move that has stunted his career by about 2 years. Aston Villa were after him and that was easily a better move. He could have developed there and then at 23-24 would have better options. Now he's at Chelsea being wasted while a no-hoper like Kalou gets the minutes ahead of him. Seriously agents and players need to take a long hard look at themselves. £30k a week at 21 with guaranteed games at a club like Villa is inifnitely better than £60k per week and 10 meaningless appearences a season at a club like Chelsea. If I was an up and coming player like Sturridge I would never sign for Chelsea. As a supporter it pains me to say it but it is the truth.
  6. No, I'm comparing our oh so highly rated 19 year old to an 18 year old Blackburn defender. One of them is good enough to play football at Premier League level. The other isn't trusted to play because his manager does't rate him even when there are no more CBs ahead of him.
  7. yeah me neither. even the people saying oh we're missing so and so. we have 5 injuries just one more than sunderland have andf they tore us a new one. if that doesn't worry anybody then i dont know what will.
  8. He has no faith in him. What he says is meaningless nonsense to please the masses. He's 19 by the way. One year older than Blackburn centre back Phil Jones who is already a very good player and has played 22 games for Blackburn.
  9. Because the senior squad was reduced to its bare bones because apparently we have some very good youngsters. That was a lie, they were just cost-cutting. We're trying to beat Arsenal to that financial prudence title that they have won for 5 years straight :champions: Desailly would easily be fourth choice. Di Matteo would start ahead of Yuri and Ramires. Could do with Zola, more talent in his little toe than Kalou.
  10. That is pretty damning. Paulo has looked nothing short of embarrassing every time he's played at CB. Anybody remember that awful game at Anfield in 07? Bruma just signed a new 5 year contract hasn't he? LOL. Another useless player on a long contract. Chelsea never learn.
  11. We went into this season under the premise that the players let go would be replaced witjh exceptional young players like Bruma. Ancelotti said a 4th senior central defender was not needed because Bruma can fill in. Well that was a load of sh1t.
  12. Most likely. He is nothing more than a yes man. Luckily for him and those running the club this is the weakest Premier League in years. We could still win this even with Ferreria at CB and Kalou our best option on the bench!
  13. Alex is a bit injury prone and Terry who has had serious back trouble for years is always a worry. Why then did the club decide to go into a season with just 3 CBs? Because Bruma is promising? Well he can't be that promising if he can't get a game ahead of Ferreria! These kids are not options. The club just has very good PR when it comes to the academy.
  14. Nope but then neither is Carlo. One thing I find worrying is that Carlo seems like a weak manager who doesn't mind taking a lot of sh1t from the people who run the club. Unlike Jose he won't demand that his playing squad is improved, he just seems to accept it which is pathetic considering how his job will be on the line if he fails.
  15. This is the weakest Chelsea squad in years. The squad is full of useless young players like Bruma, even when there are no more CBs available he is still deemed not good enough to play. What then is the point of him? Ramires is a complete and utter shambles. The club could have got 2-3 decent players with the £18m wasted on him. Drogba has malaria but cannot be given time off because Kalou is the next best option. I think finally a lot of people will start to realise what the rest of us have already; this squad is too thin.
  16. Nice try but in the words of Ian Holloway, YOU'RE WRONG! You, like many others, are judging Mikel on games/footage that you have personally never seen before. Mikel was a powerful runner and has always had a knack for passing. He was able to play in an attacking midfield position at that Youth World Cup because he could simply brush pass much smaller opponents and he was also much quicker than he is today. The bit in bold is a complete fallacy. If you couldn't see how good Mikel was and how good he was capable of becoming until just recently fine, but don't all assume we all think like you.
  17. Mikel was excellent yet again and he even had his shooting boots on for once! Cech also made some crucial saves as the game become a bit more difficult than it should have been. Drogba still looks like he's suffering and needs some time off in my opinion. Essien's tackle was never a sending off. Dempsey's elbow on Bosingwa also needs looking at by the FA, how the ref didn't see that is beyond me. What exactly was he looking at? Kalou was poor again and the Fulham left back was even worse. It truly was one of the worst performences I've seen from an opposiiton player in years, he made Kalou look fast and skillful!
  18. Kalou usually scores goals when the games are dead i.e. Wigan away this season when he came on to score the 4th and 5th goals in a rout. He says his aim is to score 20 goals this season but learning the basics such as controlling a ball seem irrelevant to him. What Scolari said recently is very telling... Imagine that. Some players are the finished product at 23 (his age when Scolari was manager) and only need to add consistency to their game but here is Kalou being taught how to dribble around poles like a 7 year old. He is such a poor player it's unbelieavble at times. He is a glorified goal hanger, almost completely irrelevant to the general build up and it's as the team is playing with 10 men when he starts. Had Scolari stayed long enough he would have been kicked out the club a long time.
  19. The new Nigeria manager is quite clearly an idiot of epic proportions. Mikel is playing in the best role for him. Alongside Essien, in what sometimes functions like a 4-2-3-1 formation, he has been brilliant.
  20. Are you suggesting that Chelsea could not find a better player than Kalou to alternate with Drogba and Anelka?
  21. I think the club have exhausted themselves trying to work out how to increase the capacity at Stamford Bridge. It is just not possible. For Chelsea to compete with Europe's elite we need to be generating far more match day revenue than we currently do. Stamford Bridge is a marvellous stadium with great history and it will be a very sad day if/when we do leave. But for Chelsea to remain amongst the elite moving stadium is a necessary evil.
  22. That is terrible news. Hopefully it was the mild form of malaria and nothing serious. It took players like Kolo Toure a long time to recover from the virus. Drogba isn't a young guy either so the club should be careful. Starting him tomorrow is madness but we're so weak and light up front ( just two senior strikers, the useless Kalou and Sturridge who Ancelotti doesn't rate) so he almost has to play. The decision of going into yet another season without a good 3rd stiker to rotate with Anelka and Drogba is going to cost us big.
