Absolutely bricking this game already. Going to be tough even with Rooney out, and they are obviously going to look to exploit our full backs and get Nani/Valencia running at Paulo and Yuri. However, they'll be just as worried about Zhirkov and Malouda bombing past Neville. Its a shame that Ivanovic hasnt made it and its vital that Nico or Joe and Malouda get back to help. However, JT and Alex should have an easier game tomorrow keeping Berbatov quiet rather than Rooney and with the back four + Mikel, i'm confident of keeping them out. Had this game been last season, and we'd seen Tevez, Ronaldo and Rooney all out; we'd be supremely confident. Take the game to them Chels. Peaked too late, like last season. Wasn't there a stat that something like 70% of the goals under Hiddink were scored or assisted by Malouda? Problem is, at the start of the season, Carlo dropped him to the bench every time he had a good game. His performances and goals could be crucial come May though.

The difference between us and other teams in regard to Rooney is that Alex and JT won't leave him unmarked in the box. Talking about Drogba and Anelka, if its one on t'other, it HAS to be Drogba. Yes, we probably are more fluid when Anelka plays, but this is Old Trafford. We are probably not going to get the chance to play some of the lovely stuff that we played on the ground yesterday. Its going to be physical with Fletcher and Carrick in the midfield, which is why Ballack will probably get the nod over Deco. We wont carve them open like we did Villa, and chances will probably be few and far between. And, to be honest, i'd much rather those chances fall to Didier than Nico.

Carlo said Friday there was a chance that Ivan will be fit for this. Fingers crossed.

I haven't been confident for a long time. After today, I just cant see it at all. The quality of the top teams has dropped significantly IMHO. Its more the long term I'm worried about. If Roman wants to keep this club as serious title contenders, year in, year out, he HAS to spend or go.
